The Four Lands

The world is often referred to as "The Four Lands". (The Middle Kingdom is not a part of any of the four lands)

To the north is the Lands of Ice.

To the south is the Lands of Fire.

To the east is the Lands of Light.

To the west is the Lands of Darkness.

The polar opposite lands hate one another but they usually have a tolerance or understanding for their neighboring element.
