Kaer - Thus far

(Third person)

Due to years and years of training, Kaer had grown to be one of the brightest minds around, however after all this, it could only wrap around so much, the mainly pondering just exactly how everything had exploded into this setup. It all was so troubling. Initially, he was put to the task of assisting people he had never met before. An order from Geon was good enough for him, and the people seemed to have a just objective ahead of them. They also were up against the New Moon Enforcers, who although noble themselves in their mission, unjust in execution there of.

Why did that man, Karsh Sting, seem so confident? All Darksiders Kaer had met seemed to be over confident smart-alecks, but Karsh seemed to be even more so. Constant illusions and traps were to be expected, but to this degree? Were they that worried of attack? And did they fear Unreality, or the Lightside. And then there was Brant, whose spellbook Kaer still kept with him to this date, half to keep his secrets from others, the other half in respect of someone who fought such a similar fight. Brant died defending his precious door, and lost because of Seremela. What type of spell did she cast that day? By all accounts, Kaer could assume it was manipulation of unreality, but…

Janus was another Kaer held in some odd sort of respect. Not respect in how he conducted his fights, but what he was fighting for. They were his enemies, but Kaer held no malice. Granted Janus was not in the right, but they were parallel in so many ways. They were still Enforcers, even if the ideals had become partisan. There was only one who was an enemy worth loathing. Victoria. Whatever “greater purpose” she tried to hold, it held no honor. Of all those who had to die that day, she was the only one truly worthy.

After such a fight, even more confusion followed. And then, to be assigned by Geon in such a state to watch Seremela? What was he thinking? Maybe the answers would be found with time, but so much is left unknown. Furthermore, putting aside all that had happened, how would continuing to travel with such a group bare for Kaer’s personal ideals. These people had little regard for order, yet deep down their actions have been just thus far. Idealistic flexibility will be tested inevitably. That too troubled Kaer.
