The Black Guardian is a fictional character in the [Relative Space] RPG. "Chuck" is an Eternal, the personification of chaos.

The Black Guardian is written by Violet. The PB is Dave Gahan. Chuck is Violet's creation; however, the Black Guardian is the intellectual property of the BBC and the producers and writers of Doctor Who.

Basic Character Information

Entry Point

Um, well, time and space are pretty meaningless to him, so let's just say "not long into the events at Relative Space." He arrived in this universe after accidentally falling through the Cleveland Rift while stuffing it with peanut butter. Since he's supposed to be impervious to trifling things like space/time rifts, that should give you an indication of just how screwed time and space are with this collapsing business.

Physical Description

The corporeal form The Black Guardian has chosen is that of a humanoid male, seemingly in his forties, five feet, eleven inches, slender and sinewy, with a well-toned body. He has hazel eyes and brown hair, and is inexplicably covered in tattoos.

Oh, and his balls is eternal. As is the rest of him.

Personality

Something like a cross between a protective fatherly figure and a petulant precocious child. Chuck repeatedly bemoans to anyone and everyone who will listen that Eternity is boring, and he frequently resorts to doing random things or stirring up trouble merely to keep himself entertained.

He's a bit conflicted about the things he sees that he could help with (in his own special way), and the Eternals' hands-off stance when it comes to Ephemerals. He's decided to give little hints and nudges in the right direction when he can, but is still bound by the rule that he cannot do anything that will cause a great alteration in any timeline.

History

...yeah. That'll just make my head hurt trying to consider it. He knows all and sees all. And probably is behind a lot of the trouble and weird events in history, because he was so bored.

• Would probably wet himself if his own White Guardian showed up

OOC-only Character Information

• Drinks as much as he does because the weight of knowing and seeing all and being unable to do anything about it, particularly when he sees disaster or needless death looming on the horizon, might make him a little batshit otherwise.
• He knows exactly where the Master is, and why Mike was abducted and allowed to escape so quickly.
