Basic Character Information

Compassion is from a group of people called The Remote. They were a group that broke away from Faction Paradox and established an independent colony. When the colony was overrun with invaders Compassion was evacuated to the 18th century. The present version of Compassion is not the original; when her people die, they are recreated through the memories of the people who knew them, since they are unable to reproduce biologically. She was recreated several times until the end of the 20th century when she met the Doctor and became one of his companions.

Entry Point

Between Frontier Worlds and Parallel 59.

Physical Description

Compassion is five feet, six inches and slender. She has blue eyes and black hair.

Personality

"Compassion" is a nickname she was given as an ironic statement about her personality. Compassion is anything but compassionate; she is short-tempered, easily irritated, sort of lacking in the usual social graces. She doesn't seem interested in making friends or being accomodating to people. She's very sarcastic and impatient especially with people she sees as being below her, which is most people.

She has this vague sense of something looming in the future. She doesn't know what it is but it scares her even though she would never admit that.

History

Compassion has been traveling with the Doctor and Fitz for some time now. Her people have the ability to receive and absorb transmissions through the use of an earpiece that's part of their physical makeup. These transmissions when interalized are used to give themselves direction and motivation. When she first arrived on Earth the multitude of signals, all apparently pointless, confused her and made her a bit ill.

She vanished for a while due to the Dalek time bubble but was recently found on a remote space station and was picked up by Jack Harkness. She kept to herself for a time, attempting to make sense of the signals she received on Earth once again but the destruction of Fred's TARDIS brought her out of hiding for reasons she can't explain.

Additional Information

Random Facts

She was found lying on the floor of remote space stations, not at all in a good mood, both times she was separated from her current timeline. The first time she was on board the TARDIS with the Doctor and Fitz when everything sort of spun out. She blacked out and woke up on the first space station where she was rescued by the Doctor. The second time she was in Catherine's house when it happened again. She was rescued from the second space station by Jack Harkness.

She's mildly amused by the multitude of advertisements she receives in the broadcasts she's currently absorbing. The ads for various medicines particularly entertain her. Don't get her started on the ads for erectile dysfunction; she's both amused and horrified as her people do not do the biological reproduction thing, wink wink nudge nudge.

She sought out the Fifth Doctor and Catherine for help with her earpiece and in absorbing the signals. She's begun to learn how to tune them out and act independently of what she receives which has allowed her more autonomy in acting for herself.

OOC-only Character Information

The problems Compassion is having with the earpiece and signals aren't only because the signals on Earth are so weird. She doesn't know it but in the time she has been traveling on the TARDIS she's been absorbing its signals. The signals are changing her, slowly turning her into a human TARDIS. She is actually the future prototype for the type 102 TARDIS.
