You carefully lower yourself over the edge and begin slowly picking your way down and across the cliff face, heading for the sandy beach where it meets the jagged rocks below you. Your stubby arms and legs are not suited very well to rock climbing and make progress slow. Over the crashing waves below you suddenly hear the whoosh of giant wings. You crane your neck trying to see behind you but your large head does not turn very far. Another whoosh is followed by a deafening screech, it sounds like the call of some terrifyingly large bird-of-pray.

You desperately scramble to descend swiftly as the unseen flying monster whooshes by again. Another piercing screech sends you into a panic and you almost slip and fall. The cliff face suddenly leaps away from your hands and for a second you think that you are falling. The horrible tearing pain in your side and shoulder a second later forces you to realize that there are monstrous claws gripping your body. Your body is flung around violently as the monster gains altitude, you are unable to get a good look at the beast carrying you.

The is a momentary gentleness as the large bird-like monster glides in a majestic arc back towards the cliff. Your heart jumps into your throat as the beast seems to tuck into a steep, fast dive angled directly at the rock face, which appears to be covered in giant spiders. you are flung free as the beast pulls up, sending you tumbling towards the gray impassionate expanse of stone. You get a brief glimpse of slate black feathers, an iron-gray beak and flashing claws as you flip through the air. Your last though before you crunch into the face is that it seems odd to you that a flying creature would have four legs.
