The first game of the Sands Of Time Series, the Prince Of Persia accidently unleashes the Sands Of Time, bringing a plague to the castle of Azad, and turning everyone into horrible sand beasts. The Prince must now undo his mistake by finding the hourglass of which that he originally created the nightmare and stopping the Vizier from gaining immortality. With the help of the Indian Princess Farah and The Dagger Of Time, he navigates through the palace of Azad to rid of this catastrophy once and for all.

The second game in chronogical order, but the 5th one to be released, the Prince discovers that he is being chased by a beast incarnation of fate, The Dahaka because he interfered with the timeline and escaped death. The Prince attempts to free himself of The Dahaka by searching other countries, which is only possible through war.

The Prince Of Persia returns in the third game in chronogical order, but the second released. The Prince continues his journey on the run from the Dahaka. This time, he travels to the Island of Time to prevent the Sands Of Time from ever being created. There, he encounters a woman who claims to be a servant of the Empress Of Time, Kaileena. He switches through the past and the present several times in order to escape death.

The Prince returns to Babylon from the Island Of Time, bearing with him Kaileena. Instead of the peace he had longed for for seven years, he finds his home in flames. Completely flabbergasted, the ship that the Prince arrived in is destroyed while he and Kaileena were still on it. Kaileena is then kidnapped by two men of an unknown faction. Before The Prince can save her, she is murdered, and the Sands Of Time that The Prince worked so hard to destroy, is released again. The Prince realizes that the person who murdered Kaileena was in fact the Vizier. Because he prevented the sands, he revived the Vizier, now that the sands were released, the Vizier gains the immortality that he desired for so long, and it's up to the Prince to defeat him yet again.
