Ramsey is a very ambitious young man who dreams of one day achieving world domination through amazing cooking – or something like that. He is forever coming up with ambitious get-rich-quick schemes which usually start out quite successfully, but he rarely sees them all the way through to the end – not because he hasn't got the patience, but rather because he's come up with something even better and more fantastic.
Financial security is something very important for Ramsey, being the oldest of seven in a household which teeters just on this side of poverty half the time. He learned at a young age how to control his siblings with bribes of food, and continues to do this with fellow students upon coming to Hogwarts.
Strengths, Weaknesses, and Fears
Ramsey shares his father's love of cooking and began experimenting himself at a young age. While not yet an excellent cook, his skills are quite advanced for his age, something he has found to be a great advantage in Potions. His interest in and familiarity with different spices and seasonings have allowed him to do well in Herbology as well, which is just as well, as he's not academically accomplished in much of anything that has no relation to cooking. However, since he hopes to run his own restaurant (or fast-food franchise, he's not terribly picky when it comes to the form he expects his eventual success to come in), he tries hard to pay attention to and do well with math – which translates into a pretty decent grade in Arithmancy. Magic-wise Ramsey is not particularly talented nor particularly lacking in any subject area. He does well in Charms when he isn't doodling get-rich-quick schemes instead of writing notes.
Though he figured that Divination would be perfect for helping him with his schemes to become an instant billionaire, Ramsey finds it to be a dull and useless class, since there isn't any real substance to it as near as he can tell. History of Magic is equally dull, and he does poorly in that as well, as he'd much rather work on more interesting things instead of pay attention. Similarly, Ramsey's plans usually fall through due to his inability to stick with any one of them to see it through to the end. Also, he sometimes gets so deep in some of his schemes that really doesn't have any way out, which has proved disastrous on more than one occasion in the past.
Ramsey's two biggest fears are poverty and something bad happening to his family. The way finances are in his family sometimes, both of these have come very near to happening concurrently. Though his main goal is to advance his own self with his numerous schemes, a large part of why comes up with them is that he'd like to be able to help out his parents with caring for himself and his siblings.
