Getting Started
I am putting together a sort of tutorial on getting started here at Nomicapolis. It can be found at User:Tucana25/My_other_workspace. It is as of yet incomplete, but I would appreciate any feedback, suggestion, comments, queries, complaints, criticisism, etc. I noticed that we have the bones of a tutorial already in place(main page). Is what I am working on something i could transfer into that (it certainly looks nicer). I don't know if I have clearance to do so, and I will probably need some guidance in getting it to work properly. In regards to a FAQ, I know we have a short foray into that area as well (also main page). Is that something people would like to see incorperated into a tutorial? Regardless of the answer to that, if we are going to have a FAQ, are there more question anyone would like to see added to it? I was thinking if anyone wanted to suggest one, it could be left on my User:Tucana25/My_other_workspace for further implementation at a later date. Logo attempt

Have to say I like it. Should make it a rule proposal for the "Offical Seal of Nomicapolis" and give yourself 10 points for the idea. And then if someone comes up with something better they can propose an amendment to change it. Make it a contest of sorts. I know I have no artist talent and no time at the moment. I have a semi-decent scroll (vertical, but you can always rotate it) that just needs a calligraphic letter "N" to go on it. I had a decent letter, but as an image, not a font, and once I resized it, it came out fuzzy, and my pathetic attempts to correct it in gimp and krita came to naught. Navigation Sidepanel
Are there any pages that should be included in the navigation sidepanel? I've already added Game-direction which is a popular page with the wiki. Make your suggestions. --Simulacrum 16:26, 29 November 2006 (EST)

Could we perhaps combine 'Current Events', 'Community Portal', and 'Game Direction' into one Newsletter or something that could have sections that streamline those links that don't get used that often. Main Page

Since it is now a rule to declare the beginning of voting, can we put that information on the front page for proposals still under debate. It would be pretty easy for each player to do their own when proposing. --Tucana25 22:43, 30 November 2006 (EST)

- Ah, You are looking for a Table of Contents (toc), the box between the opening paragraph and the first header. Well, if your page has at least three headings, a table of contents is automatically generated. If you want to force a (toc) use the magicword __FORCETOC__. If you do not like the way that it looks in the link use a pipe (vertical bar |) within the double brackets like so, [[Official Page Name|text you want displayed]]. Example: Game Direction points to Game-direction and not Game Direction. --Simulacrum 02:34, 3 December 2006 (EST)

Annoucements
The template Announcements is a great way of getting news out there quickly. It does get bogged down with old news though. How about some sort of time-limit on how long an announcement is publicized? --Simulacrum 16:26, 29 November 2006 (EST)
Game-direction
The disccusions on the Game-direction page are in my opinion vital to the future of the game. It allows the players to guage the feeling on possible proposals, as well as, to dicuss the future of the game without the constraints of rulemaking. However, it is a bit clumsy in the presentation of information contained therein. Dayd has cut the page somewhat recently to take out discussions that are no longer relevent to the game. I thank him for it because it was needed. Should we continue to edit out old discussions when the page seems to get a bit bulky? I would prefer that we place the old discussions on a archive page so that newer player might be able to refer to them should they ask about an old idea. Yeah I'd been chopping it 'cause I kept getting a this page excedes 52k or whatever message that and I didn't think some of the information was relavent any more plus a lot of it was mine or at least started by me and I didn't think it useful any more. As for an archive you can go back and look at previous page or versions of a page, or does that reset every once in a while. --Dayd 22:52, 2 December 2006 (EST)
Various pages for and about judges
I would like to thank TomFoolery for the creation of Judge Election, Decisions of the Judge as well as other pages of simular nature. I had meant to do it myself but I got bogged down with other happenings. I think that it would be nice to add an elections link as well as, a (previously removed) courthouse link at the top of the main page. Also, it may be to early to tell but, I would like to see those pages spruced up a bit. --Simulacrum 16:26, 29 November 2006 (EST)
Those pages are mostly place holders at this time, per the rules they are the domain of the player serving as Judge, so I have left them relatively open. --TomFoolery 17:13, 29 November 2006 (EST)
Site icon

Proposals
The Proposals page focuses on instructions on how to make proposals. Should we move the text to a page with a better name (such as Proposal instructions)? We could then make the proposals page just about current proposals with longer summaries than the announcements page. --Simulacrum 16:26, 29 November 2006 (EST)
I agree with that idea, maybe a "newbie" page with all of those relevant instructions, so as to remove them from the main "playing" pages of this exercise. --TomFoolery 17:12, 29 November 2006 (EST)

- I think that is a good change. I am also working on a "Getting Started" tutorial kind of thing, so the 'How to propose' thing can also get put into that.
