The Stokethrey are bipedal primates belonging to the mammalian species Human in the family Hominidae (the great apes). This group is not a separate race of the other humans but instead is a cline conglomerated by numerous Terran ethnic groups: Eastern Turkic, Eastern Iranian, Mongolian peoples, Xinjiang, Afghans, and Tibetans. Like the other human clines, the Stokethrey identify themselves as a different race in the Brass Galaxy based upon their origin myths on how they came to this galaxy.
Stokethrey used to speak Stokeya, but now only specialists and elders know the language.
