Chapter I: The surprise from the Storm

Dark clouds covered the sky of Mata-Nui, over the small village of Ga-Koro. Hahli, a young Ga-Matoran went out of her hut and looked out at the dark sky. She saw some lighting hit far out onto the ocean and some thunder roared. Now Ga-Koro had seen many storms but strangely enough, Hahli knew this one was different. She didn’t have an explanation why, she just knew. Something was wrong. Wind began too blow hard and Hahli started to run to Macku’s hut. When she made it there Macku was outside her hut and was looking at the sky, she turned to Hahli. “What a storm! I don’t like it…..Well I guess that calls off our Kolhii game we were planning for.” Hahli frowned in disappointment. “I was hoping to play today.” “Well we can’t wish for something to change can we?” Macku replied as she put her hand slightly on the side of her face as more wind blew. “It looks like this storm won’t blow away.” Just then some thunder roared loudly and there was a large strike of lightning that hit in the water near the beach. The two Ga-Matorans jumped in surprise. “Now that was the strangest type of lightning I have ever seen!” Macku stammered as she still looked toward the direction the lightning had hit. “Well Hahli, that’s enough for me! I am going inside.” Macku waved her hand at Hahli and walked inside. For a moment Hahli thought of what do next. She decided to head back to her house. Running back to her hut she had got inside just as it started to rain. She lay down on her bed and began to think about the strange lightning her and Macku had saw. Slowly she fell asleep.

A figure was washed out on the shore…. Rain hit its mask....wearily it tried to get up but. It fell back on the ground unconscious……

The next morning Gali, Toa of water had made it back to Ga-Koro. When she had arrived she found Hahli talking to Turaga Nokama. Nokama turned and put on a mixed expression of a smile and relief. “Ah, Toa Gali! It’s good to see you. Pity you were not here when the strange storm had arrived last night.” “Storm?” Questioned Gali, “I didn’t sense any storm.” “This storm was different. Maybe that’s why.” Hahli piped in. “Ehh, Macku and I saw the strangest lighting strike.” “Where?” Nokama and Gali questioned. Hahli slowly moved her finger till she found the place she was looking for. “It happened not far out in sea. Though if we were to get a better view of it. We might head down the northern beach.” Gali nodded, “Thank you Hahli, I’ll go investigate.” She turned around and was about to walk off when Hahli walked next to her. “May I join? If it is important I am going to have to record it you know.” Hahli reminded Gali of her new job as chronicler. Gali just laughed and gestured for Hahli to follow. “Of course! I doubt it is anything but please, your c-ompany is welcome.”

As they walked down the beach Gali was surprised to see that the storm barley did anything. But Nokama and Hahli had said it was a pretty bad one. But it isn’t even the right seasons for storms like this! She thought. Hahli had run ahead and around the turn, just then she heard her scream. In that second Gali started to run around the corner. When she made it to Hahli…. what she saw made her nearly choked. There was Hahli on the ground sitting by a character laying on the ground out cold. A Toa to be in fact! “Mata-Nui….” Was the only words she could get out of her at the moment. She walked over and knelt by Hahli and the Toa. “Who is it?” Hahli asked as Gali leaned over and checked the Toas pulse. Closing her eyes in relief the stranger was fine. But unconscious. Gali finally spoke, “I do not know…A toa it seems.” “A Po-Toa.” Hahli corrected, “He’s brown and tan you see.” “Yes it looks like that…” Her voice slowly trailed off it thought. At last, she spoke again. “We must take him back to the village.” With that she began to pick the character up. The character was rather heavy but not that bad for Gali. But still it would take awhile to get back.

Chapter II: Toa Hahma

Six Toa were by a vast ocean…walking closer to there enemy….Covered in a pure black tattered cloak….. “Surrender or Die! You have made enough trouble for us and the Matoran!” The Ta-Toa yells viciously. “Yes that’s quite so Toa. Your fools think you can defeat me? I am more powerful that Makuta himself! Now that he is dead nothing can stand in my way!” There enemy laughed. “Traitor to Mata-Nui and the Handmaiden!” The Ko-Toa accused, “If we do not defeat you….Your doom lies with her!” “DO NOT speak of her! I shall take the lives of you and the lady….And I shall be the master of all!” With that the six toa attack and have a horrid battle. Soon all the Toa had fallen except the fire and stone. The Ta-Toa turns to the Po, “RUN! Go get help as we planned!” “I can’t leave you.” The Brown toa protested, “You will be killed!” “That is better than seeing our island go into darkness, please go!” Finally the Brown Toa turns and starts running for the ship. Not looking back. At last he gets on it and turns to see the other Toa fall by the sword of there enemy. “Brother! NO!” He cried. But the brown Toa quickly sailed off and escaped before the cloaked enemy could get him……….

“NO!” The brown Toa jerked himself up from the nightmare. Suddenly he felt very dizzy and slowly laid back down. Looking around he was in some sort of hut that was made from seaweed. Then a short blue Matoran came running in, “Oh my, he’s awake! Quick Macku go get the Turaga and Toa Gali!” The other Matoran that was called Macku quickly nodded and ran off. The blue Matoran quickly walked over and put her hand on his arm, “Oh calm down there Master Toa. We mean you no harm!” “Where am I?” He groaned, fogginess still clouded his vision. “In Ga-Koro. On the Island of Mata-Nui.” The Ga-Matoran answered simply. “Ooh my, what will the Turaga and Toa Gali think of you?” She chuckled. Once again the Po-Toa jerked up again, “MATA-NUI! You mean I am here? And there are Toa here? Oh thank Mata-Nui, I must speak with them!” He tried to get up but quickly felt woozy and fell back down on the bed. The Ga-Matoran looked at him worriedly, “My, my. You must be worse than we thought. Please calm down.” Not after she had said that Turaga Nokama, Toa Gali and Hahli and Macku came walking in. And at last he had the strength to slowly sit up. “We found you unconscious northward from here. Are you well?” Gali asked. “I do not know at the moment.” He said quietly, “So you are a Toa?” “Yes.” Answered Gali. “I am Gali, Toa of water of the parts, and this is Turaga Nokama.” She slightly pointed her finger at Nokama who began to walk over to him. The brown-Toa cleared his throat, though it was still hoarse. “My name is Hahma, Toa of Stone……I am from another land.” “Another land!?” Macku cried startled. “Then what are you here for?” Slowly standing up he turned looked at Gali, though answered the question Macku had given him, “That is a long story my lady.” “Then we shall summon the other Toa here at once.” Gali stated firmly.

Chapter III: The Dark One Plans...

Completely in darkness, merely only some light stones hear and there. Hard and cold the air was, an echoing wind went threw the halls. Sending fear into ever part of the place. Just staring further into the halls and rooms were like looking at black holes, ready to swallow you up. Webs lay everywhere, completely in black, walls itself. The large ancient fortress was the last place anyone would ever be. A place built for Darkness itself. Proved to be worthy for enemies against Mata-Nui. A large black Vahki scurried into the hall. Even he, a great General would fear the ancient halls. Unknown what would be at any turn. Walking into a large chamber he was met to the cloaked figure he called master. Tall and in a ghastly black armor and sickish dark green, and met by the silver colored eyes that were strange for any nemesis. Malkor, once a great toa of the Island Mana-Nua. Until he discovered the great ways of power, darkness and hatred. When he betrayed everyone, they were left dumbfounded and unready for his attack. Even his sister who was titled the ‘Handmaiden of Mata-Nui’ or the ‘Lady of light’. But her real name was Galrin. She desperately tried to save him but to none avail she failed and was forced to battle him. Finally she won the battle and left him to die. But his Vahki General, Kaski. Saved him, but leaving him an utterly horrid form. Not long after that, Galrin disappeared. And he was partially glad. But his eyes were full of vengeance and hatred for her. If he ever crossed paths with the lady again....She would die. Crossing his arms, Malkor waiting patiently for Kaski to report. The large Vahki quickly bowed, “My master.” He began his voice spiky and hoarse. “I bring news.” “Good.” The dark Toa answered bluntly, waiting for more of Kaski to report. “Tell me, have you found any information on where the Matoran refuge is?” “Forgive me, we have found no clue were they are hiding yet but it soon shall be uncovered.” For a moment Malkor paused in thought and look down again at Kaski, “One more thing General….Your mission in killing the Toa that escaped…?” A wicked smile corrupted on him, “We found him far out in sea, possibly lost. We summoned a storm and lighting destroyed his boat….Along with him. We found no remains. We concluded he is dead no doubt.” The weathered dark mask of Malkor came in front of the Vahki, “Don’t be too sure of your self. And don’t under estimate the power of a Toa.” He turned around and looked at the back wall. “I can assure that to you.” For a moment they stood, in utter silence. Horrid silence that would make a Le-Matoran go mad. Finally, Malkor spoke again, “General, before you go back to your duties….Go see if you can get any more information out of our captive.” Another smile of enjoyment crept on the black Vahkis face. “Yes my master.” With that the Vahki scurried around and left. Looking at the dark he was in thought about many things. No emotion could be told on the Darkened Toas face, never could you really tell. But in his mind he was in enjoyment, soon he would have the land of Mana-Nua and another step in completing his plan…..Everything would be lost soon to the good.

Chapter IV: The Meeting

All the Turaga and Toa of Mata-Nui had come to Ga-Koro about Toa Hahma. And Hahli, Motoro and Jaller. He had told a brief story about his land: Mana-Nua and about its land, people, and the other Toa that he worked with. But then he moved on and told the more serious story. About the betrayal of the once Toa Malkii, who now called himself Malkor, the disappearance of Toa Galrin, the strange Toa that was said the main servant and messanger for Mata-Nui. And when Malkor took over there land and the Matoran were forced to escape to a small Island north of there main one. Luckily they haven’t discovered it….yet. And lastly he told how he and the 5 other Toa went back to Mana-Nua and stole an ancient map that led to Mata-Nui for help. “But of course, the others never made it.” Hahma sighed and lowered his head tiredly with some guilt. “They fell to Malkors blade.” “How do you know they are dead?” Turaga Vakama asked and looked straight into Hahma’s eyes, which made the Toa of stone uneasy. “I saw them fall!” Hahma said, his voice rose accidentally. “Let’s not let this get out of hand.” Nokama said her hands spread. “We understand your pain. But you must calm down.” Nokama also turned to Vakama and gave him a look to be quiet. Which he did do. “The Turaga will have a meeting on this. Tomorrow we will discuss this further. You need rest Toa Hahma.” Hahma was silent and just gave a weary nod. “Everyone will stay here.” Nokama spoke again, “There is no need to go back home and return again the next morning, which would take to long.” Everyone agreed but Pohatu gave a frown at it but no one noticed. Then they all got up and left to other business. Some of the Toas talked shortly while Jaller, Matoro and Hahli talked about what had recently happened. Hahma sat back into his seat and slumped down. Toa Hahma was an average size for a Toa and flexible and keen. His mask was light brown and was long a slender, two twin lines went neatly to the back of his head and had light redish eyes. The rest of his body was of dark brown. Takanuva turned to him after talking to Onua and walked over to him smiling. But Hahma did not return one. “You had a nice story there.” Takanuva said trying to bring up a subject. Hahma looked up and nodded, “Thank you Toa Takanuva. I would speak more but I wish not at the moment.” Takanuva laughed briefly and gave his hand out freely toward Hahma, “No fancy titles with me, just call me Takanuva.” He paused and noticed how silent he was and was in no mood to talk. He had much on his mind. Finally the Toa of light spoke again. “Well you look awfully tired….You need help back to your quarters?” Hahma shook his head and forced himself to get up. “No thank you. I can make it myself. Good night To- Takanuva.” He then left. Once out side he walked back to where he was supposed to sleep. Dread suddenly came over him as a cold wind blew by. He suddenly remembered that day when he saw his Toa brothers fell merciless by Malkor. He stopped abruptly and silently cried, unable to move. He finally forced himself to look at the stars. “Mata-Nui, I beg of your wisdom.” He whispered, “Please I need help….I don’t know what to do.” He slowly pushed himself to move on and went in his room and slowly. Slowly fell asleep.

Chapter V: A Kolhii game for Hahma

The next morning was lively and cheerful, everyone went about there duties and the Toa talked and joked among themselves. Kai was running around with bundles of rope in her hand, Marka was arguing to Pelagia, Amaya was busy making flax, Nixie was talking to Matoro and Turaga Nuju, Kotu was giving tips on Kolhii to Jaller, Hahli, and Macku. And Hewkii, Hafu, Nuparu, and Taipua had just recently arrived early that morning. “Kongu should be here sometime today I heard.” Hahli said as she bounced the ball up and down from the end of her Kolhii stick. Nuparu and Taipua came over and heard what Hahli had said. Taipua groaned, “Him? Oh that sounds Fuuuuunnnnn.” Macku looked over at him and then to Nuparu, who looked like he was asleep. “What’s wrong with him?” Taipua looked like he was about to blurt with laughter, “Oh him? Well we left about 4 this morn’n. And he of course was in no mood to leave. But we made it.” “Sooo,” Began Jaller, “Your saying he practilly slept walked here??” Taipua shrugged, “I guess you could say that.” Hahli, Macku and Kotu started blurted out with laughter. Kotu even fell down! “Oooohh, ooooohhhh, I am hurting know.” She said as she tried to catch her breath. Nuparu then jumped startled from the noise and looked at them, “ITS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE PINK!” Everyone then froze and looked at him startled, with blank faces. Then Hahli and Macku started to laugh again. Confused and embarrassed Nuparu looked around, “Eh? What happened?” “Nothing.” Jaller said, “Maybe you should go lay down.” Shrugging Nuparu left followed by Taipua with a wave. Jaller sighed and picked up the Kolhii ball and threw it in the air, “Now to other matters…..” He started. “Try to catch that!” Hahli Laughed, “Try me!” she then jumped up at hit it. But then Macku missed it and it went soaring in the air! Suddenly, a brown hand caught it. Running over Jaller and Hahli saw that Hahma had caught the ball! Hahli and Jaller laughed. “Great catch!” Jaller smiled and then turned to look at Macku. “At least better than SOME people.” Macku came over and crossed her arms, “Yah, I would love to see you catch that ball to Jaller.” Shrugging Jaller looked back to Hahma who was looking at the ball with interest. “What were you playing?” “Huh? Oh Kolhii.” Jaller paused then and put on a large smile. “Want to watch us play? It could keep you entertained.” “That would be great!” Hahma said with a smile. He then followed them where Kotu arranged teams. “We’re going to have to mix everyone up.” Said Kotu. “Hahli, Macku you be on one team, Jaller and I on another.” “Gotcha.” Said Macku. “I’ll go tell Turaga Nokama what we’re doing. I’m sure she won’t mind.” “Oh course!” Replied Kotu, “This isn’t a REAL match or anything.”

Macku told Nokama what they were doing and she accepted. “But you need to end it by mid afternoon. We are having our meeting then.” Macku nodded, bowed and ran off. She later met with the others who were already there. Grabbing Hahmas hand, Hahli pulled him to the Kolhii Field. “Oh you’ll really enjoy it!” Hahli laughed. Fiding a place to sit he watch them play threw the first quarter. Two points on both sides, and more to come. Now and then some Matoran would stop from there duties and watch for a moment. Cheering on whomever the wished. Later, Takanuva and Lewa came walking over and sat by him. “Hey there, enjoying it?” Takanuva asked as he watched Hahli intersect Jaller. Nodding with a smile Hahma turned to him, “Oh yes of course! It’s an interesting game.” He sighed and looked at the sky, “It’s so peaceful here.” “It wasn’t always.” Lewa said as he got bored from sitting down and went over to the side and did some handstands. Hahma turned to him, “Huh?” Takanuva slouched where he was sitting and started to watch the game again. “LONG story. Tell you later.” He shrugged and started to watch the game silently.

Chapter VI: Preparations for a trip

It was sometime in the afternoon after they had played the game of Kohlii, Hahli and Macku had won by a shot which made Jaller annoyed. Hahli slowly stood up from where she was sitting and walked over to Hahma who was having a conversation with Takanuva and Lewa. Hahma turned and smiled, “That was very exciting!” Just then they saw a short brown figure run up. It was Hewkii. “Goodness Macku! I been looking all over for you and figure out you been playing Kohlii?” He frowned and put his hands on his sides. “Why didn’t you tell me you guys were playing??” “Oh sorry Hewkii.” Said Macku with a shy smile. “I guess-” Before she could finish they all saw Motoro run up from behind. “Everyone, Turaga Vakama has called the meeting now!”

The Turaga stood in one part of the big hut discussing something. Hahma was nervous, but he knew he could trust the people here and he already knew what they were going to say. It’s just how long would it take to get back to his own island Mana-Nua? It took him weeks simply because he wasn’t a sailor or a map reader. Hahma was grateful he made it without the Vahki squad that attacked him knew that he had made it here. Sitting uncomfortably by Takanuva (which he had know gotten to be good friends with) He looked around at the other Toa. There not like the ones I used to know…… He thought with displeasure. The Turaga came and sat down except for Vakama who went over to Hahma. “Toa Hahma.” He began his voice slow which made the Toa impatient. “We accept your pleads for help and shall help you in any way to save your Island home of Mana-Nua. I know how you feel so do not think I don’t understand.” He paused and turned to Kai, who was the only other Ga-Matoran there besides Hahli. “Kai, the reason I called you is that we will need atleast 3 good ships. We do not have much time so you must work has hard and fast as possible.” A quick smile came upon Kai. “Oh yes Turaga!” “You are excused for your preparations. Don’t forget to tell this to Marka.” Nokama said as she went by Vakama. With that Kai bowed and silently left the room. “But how will we know where to go??” Hahma said, “I lost the map.” “We will figure out a way.” Vakama said as he put his staff in the other hand, “I think we will be able to help with that.”

It was now early morning and a warm fair breeze was blowing. Many of the Ga-Matoran were already running around out side, working on the ships. All the Toa were up except for Hahma. Stretching, Lewa looked around the area in high spirit. (Then again, he is always like that) He twirled around and faced up the Onua. The Toa of earth looked at Lewa, “What’s with you?” “Nothing.” Lewa said truthfully, “Just Gladhappy.” “Oops sorry.” Onua said as he looked out at sea, “Stupid question.” Just then Takanuva came up followed by Tahu. Takanuva hit fist with Onua and Lewa and looked around, “It seems they have already made good progress! We might be leaving sooner than I thought.” Just then they heard a whistle and saw that Marka and Kai had some wood attached to some rope and were having trouble putting it on the platform. “You who!” Marka called out curtly, “We need some help please!” Takanuva jumped over to where they were and helped them pull it down. “Sorry there. Need help?” “Would we ever!” She puffed. “Any help would be mighty helpful Toa.” “Just call me……..Never mind.” Takanuva jumped back down beside the other Toa. “I don’t think it will hurt if we help out?” “Oh course not!” Onua laughed heavily. “The faster we work, the sooner we finish.” It was about nine o’clock when the Toa had taken a break from helping. Hahma came out and looked around and then at the sky. “Mata-Nui! I slept late.” “Oh that’s fine.” Gali came up to him. And she noticed his quiet look. “Are you alright?” He sighed. “Yes I guess I am. Just tired.” She nodded, “Well very well. The ships are in the making and out of our guesses should only take a week or two.” Hahma nodded, “Thank you.” With that Gali departed and left Hahma there alone and in thought. He sighed and decided to make the best of it.

Chapter VII: Leaving for Mana-Nua

The two weeks slowly flew by for Hahma, everyday he worried what was happening to the Matoran of Mana-Nua. Which Nokama had fussed to him that worrying would just make it worst. He did know she was right, but some days it was impossible to withstand those feelings. As the morning rolled on, the Matoran and Toa were busy packing supplies for the voyage. The three ships were now finished and as beautiful as ever. The Turaga had decided that some of the Matoran should go also on this Mission. They assigned, Hahli, Jaller, Macku, Kai, Hafu, Hewkii, Nuparu, Kongu, and Matoro. Matoro had complained that he was more needed with Turaga Nuju but Nuju insisted on it. At first Matoro showed no emotion on this but later Jaller figured out that he was in fact VERY excited to go. This made Jaller amused. Packing some things in his bag Jaller looked at Matoro with a smile, “So you’re like serious aren’t you???” “You don’t have to rub it in.” Mumbled Matoro as he stuffed some of his own things in his bag. Jaller laughed and put a hand on his shoulder, “Sorry, I didn’t mean to. It’s just funny to see you like this.” Before he could reply Hahli, Maku and Kai popped there heads in the room, “And I thought it took us long! Hurry up now mates!” Kai giggled, “Or we will be leaving you!” Finishing up Matoro and Jaller ran outside and followed the three Ga-Matorans to the ship. Looking at them with awe Matoro whistled, “Wow! There amazing. And to say that it only took a couple of weeks.” “A couple of weeks?” Kai said confused and as if it wasn’t a complement, “It only took two weeks.” “A couple IS two.” Matoro said as he placed his things by some other supplies and equipment. Kai blushed in embarrassment, “Oh….I knew that.” Matoro with a slight grin he nodded and then saw Nuparu, Hewkii, Kongu and Hafu come up.

About 30 minutes later when the group was ready to set sail. Gali, Kai, and Macku ran about getting the ships ready. And telling who would be assigned to what ship. Toa Tahu and Hahma watched the preparations with arms crossed. Looking around with half excitement Hahma finally spoke, “I hope we aren’t too late.” “Don’t worry, we won’t.” Said Tahu who was still looking around. This will be an adventure to remember. He thought. Then, he saw Turaga Vakama walk up beside him. The Turaga smiled and spoke, “Toa Tahu, I trust your leadership in the group. But hear me; this power is nothing you have come across. And this will test every bit of you.” Tahu nodded understandingly, “Of course Turaga, I shall do my best.” “I trust that….” The Turaga of fire said. He then turned to Hahma and pulled out a small old parchment, it was torn, burned, stained and who knows else, yet readable. “What is that?” Asked Hahma with wonder. “This.” Began Vakama. “Is the map you needed.” Taking it from his hand Hahma looked at it with surprise. It looked like a exact copy of the original one he had. Looking back at him Tahu and Hahma asked, “Where did you get this??!” Vakama kept both hands firmly on his staff, “That shall be told another time Toa….But you must go. Lingering here shall not be good.” Smiling, Hahma carefully rolled up the map, “Yes Turaga….And thank you again!” Vakama just nodded. “Mata-Nuis speed and protection with you.”

Later, everyone boarded up. All the Matoran were saying there good-byes. Amaya looked like she was going to cry as she stood by Hahli and Macku. “Oh you two be careful now!” Hahli just laughed and hugged her, “Oh we will!” Then waving they boarded up. While they were doing that Kai was fixing some rope and looked down the ship to see Marka. “See you mate!” She called out with a laugh. “Ok. But don’t have too much fun!” She called back. “Oh I won’t. That wouldn’t be right without you.” By the time she finished tying the rope Jaller, Hewkii and Matoro came running up. “Grab the bags!” Hewkii called out as he threw to bags up to her and she clumsily caught them. “You’re lucky I caught those!” She called out. “Or your belongings would be wet!” Hewkii had been rather excited till the second he got up to the boat he frowned. “Please Mata-Nui, whatever I do, don’t let me fall out of this boat!” He whispered to himself. Matoro was about to follow when he turned and saw Turaga Nuju. He motioned his hands for him to come over which Matoro did. Matoro looked at him, “Are you SURE you don’t want me to go?” He shook his hand, “No. Now be off, Mata-Nui look after you.” He said with a sly smile. Patting him on the shoulder he watched the astonished Matoro go follow Kongu, Nuparu and Hafu who was waiting for him. “You ok Matoro? You seem like you lookedsaw a Borahk back there.” Kongu joked, but was serious in the question. Matoro quickly shook his head, “No, nothing. I’m fine.” Finally the three ships slowly edged off into the vast ocean. A fair breeze blew by and it was a sunny early afternoon, and the ships slowly disappeared. Vakama stood there for a long moment even when everyone was gone. He looked up at the sky. “Mata-Nui, they need your guidance, for they do not know what lies ahead of them.”

Chapter VIII: Malkors Captive

Malkor walked in a quick pace toward one of the dungeons. His dark cape flowed roughly behind him, his feet echoed in the ancient walls. Making the place sound more deserted than it really was. He walked up to one of the large doors where two Rahkshi guarded the door. With a wave of his black hands the Rahkshi let aside there weapons. And Malkor entered. Slightly touching the right side of his mask he scowled. A long scar that went an inch above his eyebrow and down to his jaw, along with smaller cracks and burns. His right side seemed to be the worst…Where Galrin had hit him with her energy shields. It had almost shredded him to pieces. Malkor moved his hand down from his masked and calmed himself of the hatred growing. I will have my revenge….He told himself. Now he stopped walking and looked up to the character that was tied to the wall. Toa Iroik of fire. Malkor started to walk up a short stairs and gave no emotion when he stopped in front of the Toa. Iroiks head was down looking at the floor while his legs and arms were bound. Burns and sever wounds covered him from being tortured…Tortured for the information Malkor needed. “Toa Iroik.” He began. “I am getting impatient. I hope you know I need that information.” Iroik raised his head slowly so he was face-to-face with Malkor. “I understand. But that information I can’t give you.” “And why…?” Malkor asked slowly. “You know as well as I do. I have been here for a month and kept quiet…You expect me to tell you it now?” “You arrogant fool.” Malkor weakly smiled. “You are a powerful Toa. But even the greatest of warriors can be defeated. You underestimate my power!” “I don’t” The Toa of fire said hoarsely. “After seeing you capture my brothers and I. But you missed one.” Malkor shook his head and put his arms behind his back, “Oh yes that is one reason I came down here for.” His voice was now lighter, “It seems my Vahki squads found him out in sea. They destroyed him.” The last sentence was darker and straight forward. Making Iroik shocked. “I don’t believe you!” “Oh yes, of course you should.” He paused and turned around walking over to a storage that was guarded by an energy shield. He opened it with a code and pulled out something. Closing it he spoke again. “But it’s true.” He then turned around now holding a large double handed sword, red and spiky on one end and looked heavy. He walked back up to him both hands on the fiery sword. “Your weapon Toa…” Malkor began, “It’s an amazing sword…I would hate for it to be used for ways you wished it not.” Anger rose in Iroik, he clenched his hands. “One death has already come to bear on you…” Malkor said. “I would hate to see another happen.” He now was slowly moving his finger across the sword, with a calm, yet threatening look. Anger came on Iroik face, revealing it completely. “You will never get away with this! Toa Galrin will return and your carcass will rot under the sea!” Malkors strange silver eyes flashed red and he clenched the sword in one hand. With a sudden swipe of it, he hit Iroik with him making the Toa go into utter pain. The Toa clenched his eyes shut as tight as they would go, as if to never open them again. Malkors eyes went back to normal. “For the last time Toa I need that information.” He then got up closer and grabbed Iroiks neck, sword in the other hand pointing mercilessly at him. “Toa, if you EVER want your friends to live. That information could be useful. Your weeks are numbered.” With that he lowered the sword and left. Iroik couldn’t out do the pain, it blazed on to him. He could feel the burn that Malkor made across his chest. He had suddenly realized what he had said to the dark lord…..Was a terrible mistake.

Chapter IX: Ambushed!

About Midday was the time. The three ships smoothly went across the sea on a beautiful summer day. Water splashed up on the decks of the ships and strong wind blew by. The group of 16 had been on the ships for about 10 days, most didn’t care. Everyone seemed to enjoy it. Except Hewkii was scared of falling out and Pohatu wasn’t in the best of moods either. Matoro walked into the main part of the ship where he met up with Takanuva, Hahma, and Kopaka. Takanuva was asleep and was sitting in a chair and had his feet propped up on a small crate. Hahma was looking at the map and Kopaka was watching him. The Toa of stone looked up at him, “Matoro! Good to see you again.” “Hello, how goes it?” He asked. Then he walked over to them, stood in a chair and examined the map also. Just then the door swung in and Tahu came in. He shut the door loudly which made Takanuva jump. “What in Mata-Nuis name was that?!” He asked, slightly still half-asleep. Tahu turned to the Toa of light with a bored expression. “Oh something exploded outside.” Tahu joked. For a moment Takanuva paused and gave Tahu a strange look. “Huh? Really? Where!?” With a role of his eyes Tahu turned to the others. “What’s going on here?” “Still going over the map.” Hahma said. “It seems either sometime tonight or tomorrow morning we’ll make it to land. A smile came on Tahus face, “Well that’s nice! Getting sick of staying around here.” “Better not let Gali hear you said that.” Kopaka warned icily. Shrugging Tahu walked over to the map and examined it. “Let’s just hope that nothing will happen when we get there.”

Out in the water five dark blue and darkly green, the leader of the Vahki stared out at the passing ships. The sky was now slowly getting dark. “At last we have the Matoran Refuge in our grasp!” It said voice dark and slimy. Another Vahki swam beside him, “Sir, should we report this to General Kaski?” “No.” Answered the Vahki leader slowly, “Not yet. What would the use that be? There is nothing to report fully…..We will destroy these petty things and Then we shall get the news to the General.” The other Vahki looked hesitant, but made a sharp nod. Then they all went under water and silently followed the ships.

The next morning was icy cold. Dark clouds rolled over the sky and once and awhile thunder could be heard off in the distance, fog went by the ships making it hard to see except only a few feet away. All that could be heard for the longest of times was the water and waves hitting against the ship. But even that seemed mute to Hahli. She silently walked to the edge of the ship looking over the railing. The water looked white and harsh as it hit the side of the boat; she shivered as more icy wind blew. At first it reminded her of Ko-Koro, but as they went further into this mysterious fog, it was much different. Now more fog rolled in but it seemed different. She heard something splash in the water and she whirled her self around. “What was that?!” She said aloud by accident. Kopaka was the only one on the deck at the moment and heard Hahli cry out. He ran over to her startled face. “What happened?” Kopaka asked. “There is something in the water! I saw it!” Hahli said pointing out into the icy water. Without saying anything Kopaka walked over and looked down into the water. Suddenly, everything became icily quiet and still. Then with a large roar that echoed a four legged creature with a large spiky head soared out of the water and onto Kopaka. The creature pinned the Toa of Ice down firmly. Kopaka struggled for a moment then rammed the shield in the creatures face. Flipping backwards at the same time the creature fell back on the deck Kopaka went in front of Hahli. “Get the others!” He cried. Hahli nodded and ran down. But was met by Takanuva. “What in the name of Makuta is going-” Before the Toa was able to finish he was hit by an electrical bolt. Knocking him down and stunning him Hahli ran over. “We’re being attack!” “Yah…..” Groaned Takanuva. “I think I have discovered that.” The creature that had hit him crawled onto the deck. Now some of the fog was clear and she could see the creature now. “A Vahki!” She cried with shock. Hahli remembered when Turaga Vakama had explained them, big spidery creatures that were fast and flexible. The Turaga had said more about them but she wasn’t in the mood to remember. Just that one sentence cleared it up pretty much. Now running out was Tahu and Hahma. They saw the creature and it snarled at them. Tahu quickly pulled out his magna swords and pointed them mercilessly at the Vahki. Just then there was a loud roar of water and then they heard a loud ramming noise. Before anyone could react, the ship that was beside them hit into there ship making everyone fall down. Hahma was the first to get up and found that Lewa was running over to him. “What happened?” Called out Hahma. “Sorrymuch! But it wasn’t our fault.” Lewa answered. “Something rammedhit into our ship.” “The water squads.” Scowled Hahma. Referring to the Vahki. Hahli was so confused when she got up, a million things running in her head. How could the Vahki be over here? They were created in Metru-Nui….Unless. Her thoughts were disturbed when a Vahki towered over her. Then suddenly a form of sand (or it looked like that) went between them. Then the particles suddenly formed into Toa Hahma! His mask was glowing and he was smirking. “Don’t even try it!” Caught off guard the Vahki was hit by Hahmas weapons, two large and long hammer like weapons that he was holding in each hand. The Vahki lay on the ground; a large dent was in its side. That’s his mask power! Thought Hahli with surprise, but she would have to ask what it really did later. “What a weapon!” Cried Hewkii. He ran over and helped Hahli. “Com’on! Gali says to get in the other ship for-” Just then another Vahki jumped out of the water and in front of the two Matorans with a large THUMP! He pulled out his weapons (Which were long and curved) and swung it at them. Hahli ducked and staff missed her by an inch, but Hewkii was hit hard and was thrown off the ship. “Hewkii!” She cried out. But he didn’t reply, unconscious he slowly began to sink. Hahli suddenly took courage and jumped in after him. Landing in the water with a splash, she grabbed Hewkii. The water was dreadfully cold and all of her body was getting numb. She knew she couldn’t last long. Large waves went over her and now she was fighting for her life! More waves went over her and suddenly she lost her grip on Hewkii and she flew out of sight in the waves, she cried out with fear a tried to get back up to the surface, then suddenly she couldn’t breathe any longer, she was now drowning and slowly began to sink…..But then a hand caught her. That’s all she could remember before she blacked out.

Chapter X: Reaching the Island and Malkors guest

Later Hahli awoke on a small mat, and was covered in a blanket. At first, she didn’t remember what happened, but after thinking it over, she remembered a little of what happened on the boats. But everything else was foggy. Now getting up, she looked around tiredly. What happened? She thought. Examining the room closely now, she noted that she wasn’t in the ship anymore, she was in a tent. Just then Gali poked her head in a turned to see Hahli with a happy smile, “Hahli!” Hahli smiled, “Toa Gali!.....What happened?” “You had fallen in the water with Hewkii, and Hahma saved you.” She answered, “Come on out, we are on the beach of the refuge Hahma told us about. Takanuva, Tahu and Lewa went in search of the Matoran.” Hahli nodded and headed out, once outside she quickly went back to the subject, “Where’s Hewkii?? Is he ok?” She nodded, “He’s fine. But he is resting I last check, he got hit on the head pretty badly.” Hahli sighed and looked at the sand, “Oh ok…..What about Toa Hahma?” “Fine.” She answered slowly, “Just tired and dazed a little.” “I guess we all are.” Hahli said looking around the area. It was very much like Ga-Wahi, except she saw much more old ruins lying around. Just then she turned and saw Jaller, Macku, and Nuparu run up. “Hahli!” Macku ran up and hugged her, “Oh Hahli, never do that again! I thought you were really gone for a moment.” Hahli laughed, “Oh no, why would I do that?” Jaller stood behind Macku and smiled, his face was full of relief, but embarrassment also covered it. “Good your okay Hahli.” She laughed and went over and hugged Jaller, “Oh you Kohlii head!” Then letting go Macku and Hahli went off to another part of the camp. And Jaller stood there, and his mask almost looked red. Nuparu looked at him, and then laughed, “Oh you should have seen the look on your face! Haha!” Jaller turned around a frowned, “Oh give it a rest.”

Malkor sat in his dark throne, deep in thought. He tapped his fingers against the arm rest, impatiently. Just then a Vahki came rushing into the room. He bowed deeply and waited for his master to answer. “Yes….What is it?” Malkor asked eyeing the Vahki. “Master…..Someone here is to meet you.” “Who?” “I do not know….I have never seen her before.” Malkor stood up quickly, “You say ‘her’?” The Vahki nodded, “Yes master. She wishes to speak with you.” “Bring her here!” Snapped Malkor. Then sat back in his seat and waited for the Vahki to return. Not but five minutes had passed when the doors opened again, and came the Vahki followed by a blue and black figure. She was a tall, thin creature, blue eyes, and devious expression. She came up to Malkor and bowed. Malkor stood. And no memory of her ever came to him, though, when working secretly for Makuta years ago, he did speak of a Titan that worked for him…. “Welcome to my land….If you are a friend.” “But of course.” She said still her eyes fixed on the ground. “I bring news.” Her voice was smooth, clean, and very calm. For a moment, Malkor stood there dazed, but then got out of it and went to his expressionless face. “What news do you bring?” “From the master of shadows himself.” She said now looking at him smiling. Malkors eyes glowed red for a brief moment then spoke, “Though I heard he was dead by the Toa of Light.” She chuckled, “Oh of course not! What a silly thing to say.” She got up closer to him, “He wishes to see you.” Malkor clenched his hands, “Where is he? How did you get here?” “He is coming. And how I came to be here is none of your concern dear.” She looked deeply into his eyes, making Malkor less on edge, “You are what I thought you to be….A great warrior….One that will not fail, unlike one I tried to teach many years ago….” She turned around and headed out the door, not telling who that was. Then paused and looked back, “Oh yes my name…Roodaka they call me.” With that she left. Malkor slumped in his chair angrily, and hit his fist against the arm rest, making a loud clang threw the room. He is supposed to be dead! He snarled in thought, then, I guess I will have to play along with this. His thoughts went back to the Roodaka. Her voice still was in his head, the mysterious voice that came for him to think about the words she had spoken….. ‘Unlike one I tried to teach many years ago….’ He had a feeling they would see each other again…..

Tahu, Lewa and Takanuva walked threw a dense forest, searching around the area. Lewa looked already bored, and Tahu was growing restless. Where could they be? Where to start looking? He thought, they must have hidden it well for protection-Just then, a Kanohi disk can out of the blue and at Tahu, with a jolt, he ducked down and the disk blew up behind him at a tree. Now getting up and looked around quickly, they’re attacker was no where to be seen! “Who’s there?” Called out Tahu, “Speak quickly if you want to live! You are talking to a Toa!” Everything became silent, the birds stopped singing, the wind slowed to a low moan. Then he heard ferns move in front of him, getting ready, he slowly pulled out his Magna swords. Ready for anything. Then the characters came out of the underbrush….And there stood three green Matoran.

Chapter XI: Good News at Last

Later that afternoon, Hahli and Macku were on the beach talking and eating. Hahli turned and noticed that Macku had a worried look, and now was just playing with her food. “You ok?” Hahli asked as she rubbed her mask thoughtfully. Macku shrugged, looking a little embarrassed about the question, “Jut wondering if Hewkii will be okay.” The chronicler smiled at her friend and put a hand on her shoulder, “He’s going to okay. Don’t worry!” “I know.” Sighed Macku, “Just….” Suddenly she paused and looked from behind Hahli as if in a trance. Hahli looked closely at her, “Uhmmm, Macku?” She then turned around to see Hewkii walking up with Kongu and Hahma silently following. Macku dropped her food (Which Hahli caught before it hit the sand) and ran over. “Hewkii!” With that she hugged Hewkii at that point. “Ack! Macku please! You’re choking me!” Hewkii argued as he tried to get the Ga-Matoran off of him. Macku finally let go, “Oh Hewkii! I have a good reason to. I have been scared stiff about you!” Hewkii looked at her confused, “About what??” Macku then rolled her eyes, “Hewkii I swear your head is made of rocks….I thought you were going to die after being attacked by that Vahki….Thing.” “Ohhh that!” Hewkii said as he snapped his fingers. “I am fine, but do I ever have the worst head ache!” “No wonder.” Kongu smiled, “That unglymean creature wackedhit you right in the head!” “You’re lucky the Vahki didn’t cut off your head.” Said Hahma. Hahli then looked up at the Toa, “Toa Hahma….How are they’re Vahki here??” “Long story.” Explained Hahma, “After Malkor took over the Island, he created the Vahki to help conquer.” “But that can’t be.” She replied, “Vahki were created on Metru-Nui….Except these seem different as the ones Turaga Vakama explained, these are stronger and smarter….” She trailed off in thought. “Maybe Malkor got the plans from Makuta.” He answered, “He worked for the shadowed one.” “Good thought.” Sid Hahli, then she picked up her belongings and started to head for a tent, “Well I need to go write out this all. That is my job anyway.”

The three Matoran were at least a foot taller than the Matoran of Mata-Nui. Though they’re mask were of kinds Tahu had seen before. They stood there holding out disk launchers ready for anything, still uncertain these three Toa were friends or foe. “Who are you?” Snapped one of the green Matoran. Tahu sighed, getting impatient, “I am Toa Tahu, this is Toa Lewa, and there is Takanuva…..Toa of light.” The Matoran looked at Takanuva with wide eye. “You are the Toa of Light….? How did you find our Island?” “Someone you know.” Answered Takanuva, “Toa Hahma made it to our island and we came to help.” The Matoran jumped, “You mean Toa Hahma is still alive?? Oh praise Mata-Nui!” He said now looking much more at ease. “Forgive me, my name is Cada, and this is Hoct and Junitoro.” He pointed over to the Matoran that were behind him, “We are guarding the area. You never know when that dark lord could find us!” “We understandmuch.” Said Lewa with a nod. “May we see Toa Hahma?” Asked Cada, “We must get him as soon as possible. Turaga Tohkan will be so happy for these tidings!” “Of course.” Answered Tahu, “We are camped out on the beach.” “Then we shall follow you.” He paused and turned to Hoct, “Go quickly and tell the news to Turaga Tohkan! Hurry!” “Of course.” Said Hoct with a smile. Then he ran off and disappeared in the woods.

Hahma looked around, still no sign of Lewa, Tahu, or Takanuva. I should have gone with them , he thought. Just then he heard voices at the edge of the woods and paused to see who it was. There, came the three Toa and two Matoran! Oh thank the Great Spirit there okay! He smiled at the thought at ran over to them. Takanuva smiled and they tapped each others fist, “Guess who we found?” Hahma looked down and tried to remember who these Matoran were. It had been so long since he had talked to any of them, almost two months! But finally, the name came to him. “Cada!” The Matoran bowed, “It is good to see you. We all had thought you of dead.” “Well that’s what I expected.” Sighed Hahma, “But here I am! How are the other Matoran and the Turaga?” “They are fine.” Answered Cada smiling, “We came to get you, Turaga Tohkan will be most happy!” “Very well.” Answered the Po-Toa, “But at least let my friends come.” “Of course they can.” Said Cada, where it almost sounded liked he snapped the words. “I sent Hoct to tell, so whenever you’re ready, we will go.” Hahma nodded and took a deep breath. At last some things were going as planned! But he knew this was only the beginning….

Chapter XII: The matoran refuge city

Hahma, the Toa Nuva and the rest of the Matoran of Mata-Nui followed Cada and Junitoro to the small city the spoke of that was on the center of the island, where they would meet Turaga Tahkon and Turaga Nomaii. Cada had a dark green Ruru Kanohi Mask with a forest green body. While his hands and feet were of a light green. Surprisingly he was quit serious for a Le-Matoran. While his friend, Junitoro had a light green Miru with a normal green body. He seemed happy and more excited over everything. They had left that early morning and now it was beginning to get dark. And they had not taken many breaks. So the whole group was ready to get there. Kongu caught up with Cada and looked at him, “How much longer? My feet are getting hurtsore.” Cada retrieved a glance, “Not longer, we should be greeted by some more guards soon enough.” Pohatu had over heard and now sighed, “That’s great!” Five minutes slowly rolled by for Kongu then turning over to Cada again, he asked, “Are we there yet?” “Nope.” Kongu huffed and now slowly started to drag behind. Another five minutes went by when Kongu popped up again in front of Cada, “Now?” “No! Be patient.” Cada was looking on edge and seemed to be annoyed at Kongus questions. “But it’s taking forever! Eh……….Are we there now?” “No no!” Snapped Cada. “We are-” “Hey HO!” A voice said ahead of them, the group paused and looked around. “-Now here.” Cada answered with a smile as he finished his sentence. Then walked over to the voice, “Nantai! It’s safe! Toa Hahma is here with other Toa and Matoran!” To there surprise, the strong voice came from a Ga-Matoran! She stood there holding a spear which rested on her side. She had a dark blue Komau. She looked around briskly at each individual. She paused and looked at Matoro for a moment longer, Then nodded, “They show no threat?” “Of course not!” Nantai shrugged, “Can never be too careful. Come on, and follow.” The group followed the Ga-Matoran for awhile then came across a tall wall with a large double door, where it was guarded by four Matoran. They passed with ease, but the Matoran gave the Toa a warily stare, and same to the Matoran. They walked threw a neat street with houses and large buildings around the area. It was much different that what was outside the walls! “These Matoran seem to be high in technology.” Nuparu whispered to Hafu. “Ehh, the carvings are nice…But I do a much better job!” “Oh shut up!” Scowled Kai, “You better be careful what you say around here mate.” Hafu turned his head at her and was about to reply when he bumped into something and fell down. “That was smart.” Commented Nuparu. Who looked up to see a very elegant sculpture made out of some white material. “Hey!” A voice said running up, “Whad’a heck are you doing? Got anything else to do than to just run into Sculptures!?” Hafu slowly got up and rubbed the back of his neck, “Sorry!” “Humph! Stupidity on two legs I say!” The character was most defiantly a Ko-Matoran, a stressed one at that. Cada ran up between the two, “Stop stop! Sonar, calm down! They are new here.” “Doesn’t matter. They should have enough sense not to bump into things. This was newly made and fragile.” “But it’s not even nice!” Hafu said. “Why you……..”

Hahma and the Toa Nuva hadn’t noticed what was going on (Because Nantai was talking to them in a different part of that small area) till Hahma had noticed some Matoran missing. He left and found them outside. Nuparu, Kai, and Hafu were by Cada who was arguing with a Ko-Matoran named Sonar. He went over and crossed his arms, waiting for them to get his attention, “Trouble?” Cada and Sonar turned quickly around, Cada looked flustered and Sonar looked mad at first, then surprised. “Toa Hahma! You have returned!” He smiled, “Nice you finally noticed. What’s the trouble?” “They’re arguing over Hafus stupidity.” Kai pointed out. And Hafu grumbled something with an annoyed expression. “Isn’t there…..More important things to argue about?” Sonar looked down at the ground, “Forgive me, it was my fault.” But he then gave a quick hard glare at Hafu. After that moment, Junitoro came running up. “Friends! Turaga Tohkan has arrived and is waiting for you all.” Sonar decided to join and they went into the room Hahma had originally been in. There they found the Turaga greeting everyone warmly. Tohkan was slightly taller than the Matoran of Mana-Nua and he had a red Hau on with a faded red body and black hands and feet, he held a staff that had a small round spear shape on the top and gave out a warm smile. Nomaii had a light blue Ruru and a normal blue body, hand and feet were black. Her staff was long and slender and on the top was a moon like symbol. Tahkon turned and saw Hahma come in. He smiled and walked over to the Toa. Hahma nodded his head in respect. “Oh this is good news! Welcome Toa Hahma and everyone to Hayo-Nui!” Began Tahkon with a large smile. “Indeed.” Began Nomaii who had a calm and peaceful voice. “We will have some quarters for everyone, you all must be tired. We will have any needed discussions tomorrow…..But first, names?” Tahu went threw the Toa Nuva then the Matoran. After he finished Nomaii smiled, and looked at Takanuva for a moment then turned to a Ga-Matoran that stood beside her, “Please take everyone to there room.” The Matoran bowed and then motioned everyone to follow.

Chapters XIII: Makuta visits and Takanuvas Dream

Malkor paced back and forth in the meeting area where he was told to meet Makuta in. I still don’t believe the bloody piece of metal is still alive! The fool has ruined my plans! Malkor thought darkly with clenched fist. He was not in the mood for this. Just then the door that led into the room opened with a loud groan. His Vahki General, Kaski came walking in. Kaski was not any normal Vahki, of course many already knew that after seeing his dark grins, most Vahki in Malkors army never gave any emotion and were of course stupid. Without the right commands they would be dummies, but not Kaski. He was sly, smart stagiest General with ruthless moves. For he was made for that. He scurried up to Malkor and waited for him to get his attention, finally Malkor turned around, “WHAT?” Seeing Malkors eyes flash blood red, Kaski back a step away. He was no coward, but had sense to keep his distance with an angry lord. “My Lord, they….Have arrived.” Malkors inclined his head toward Kaski, slightly puzzled, “You said they?” “Yes my master….Makuta is here, with that Roodaka, followed by two dark hunters I have no memory of.” “Very well….Send in a squad of our best Rahkshi, then come by my side and get ready for them.” Kaski bowed and rushed off to do his bidding. Malkor then sat down in the front chair of the long table that was in the middle of the room. He was not taking any chances with Makuta this time. Not long after Kaski came back and followed him was the group of stout dark colored Rahkshi. Then after getting situated, Malkor gave some quick commands to Kaski who nodded. Then a Vahki came running into the room, “Master, they have come.” It hissed. Malkor nodded, “Very well, send them in.” The Vahki bowed and ran off. It was only a few minutes but it felt like hours for Malkor, the silence was worst than ever and Kaski looked very impatient and uneasy. Then the large door opened slowly and Malkor stood where he was. Waiting to see what would happen next. Roodaka who seemed to almost glide into the room her cool eyes look around and she grinned at Malkor, which he just gave a brief frown. Then the two very large dark hunters came walking in. They were at least eight feet tall, and looked very similar to each other. Large footsteps came into the room; everything else was quiet except for the noise the characters foot made. Then coming out of the dark area, he was visible. Makuta stood there hands behind back showing no emotion at that moment. Nor did Malkor. Makuta seemed to look different, or that’s what it felt like to Malkor, for nearly 1000 years had passed before since they’re last meeting. But there was something else; the dark lord guessed it was the scars and dents. Probably from the battle with the Toa of Light…. Finally he spoke, “Welcome Makuta….I wasn’t expecting to see you.” He grinned and started to walk up closer followed by Roodaka and the two others, “Oh it is good to see you have this place still in control my young Malkor.” “Indeed,” Began Malkor who still didn’t give out much of any emotion, he then pointed at Kaski, “This is my General Kaski.” Kaski just bowed and gave a dark grin, “Good to see you Master of Shadows.” How long do I have to play along with this? Thought Malkor with much impatient. “Well then.” Said Makuta, “Shall we go to business?” “What business?” Asked Malkor. Makuta chuckled darkly, “Oh you still have much to learn little one! As of course I know you have information and I do to.” “What information do you seek?” Malkor asked once again, now sitting into his seat slowly. “Well, I hear you have all the Toa Heor in custody? And what about Toa Galrin?” Malkor frowned at the word Galrin, “I have all the Toa Heor besides one….He is dead. As of Toa….Galrin, she has disappeared. “Mmhhhh, just as I thought.” Makuta said bending down, “My, your skills have improved I see, but you are still young.” Malkor gave him a dark stare, “Who says I am?” “Me, and that’s a good enough answer.” Answered Makuta bluntly. Malkor was still not sure where this was going, this is not a visit from an old friend, they wanted something….. “Anyway, these dark hunters….They are…?” “This is Galbor and that is Trox. They are twin dark hunters, loyal to me.” Makuta answered, as if making a point. The two were indeed twins, save for there weapons they held. One had a Crossbow attached on one hand and a whip coiled up in his other. While the other held two swords, with a shield on each arm. There dark curved faces looked silently forward. They haven’t even stirred, there serious expression making them look almost like a statue. “Now.” Stated Makuta, “About your progress…..”

A Toa of light stood there in front of a tall dark figure, a tattered cape and a horrid scar across his eye. He pointed his long spear at her and cried, “I have been waiting for this day!” “And yet I feared it.” She replied sadly. The dark Toa charged and raised his weapon, yet the other did not do anything. Another voice came and was dark and cold, “I have returned, for the shadows always do! And you and your friends will DIE.”

“NO!” Takanuva jerked up with a gasp and jumped out of his bed. He could have sworn he heard Makutas dark laughter, but was it just a dream? He heard the door opened and whirled around, he tripped on something that lay on the ground and went head long into the wall. “Takanuva, what the heck are you doing??” The voice came from Tahu who was now looking down at Takanuva. “Ouch that hurt.” He groaned getting up and then straightened his mask which had gotten crooked. “Now, that’s a little to original for you. Really.” Tahu looked at him and Takanuva grinned embarrassed. “What happened?” “Nothing.” Takanuva said flatly, “You just startled me.” Tahu laughed, “Good joke. Now come on. The others are waiting.”

They went down the hall and met the other Toa and Matoran in a large room. Tahu went over and hit fist with Gali. “Sister, you should have seen what he did!” Tahu laughed again referring to Takanuva, he told a brief story and then Gali was laughing. And by then, Takanuvas mask was slightly red. But the strange dream kept on coming back to him, was it some sort of vision? He thought, was it some sort of vision?

Chapter XIV: Surprise

Malkor sat in his chair looking at the hard black ground, breathing hard and his arms were crossed. He wasn’t of course happy to see Makuta, the foul thing. Nor did it make him happy to see those two Dark Hunters watching his every move. Just then his door opened and he jerked himself up. Suddenly seeing it was Roodaka, her blue eyes looking at Malkor with interest and the sly yet calm smile. “Oh there you are!” She said as she bowed, “I was wondering where you were.” Since the time he met her, he wasn’t sure if he should like her, or be enemies. She worked for Makuta and her devious expression always made him go tense. Which he hated. Though maybe if he could get her on his side…She might be a good ally…. “What do you need?” Malkor asked, standing very straight, and trying hard not to show any emotion. “Oh…Nothing.” She began as she walked up closer to him, “I just wanted to congratulate you.” Is she flirting with me? He thought angrily, Why I should split her neck... But Roodaka continued, “Seeing how well of conqueror….And a great dark warrior you are.” He decided to change the subject, “You want something. I know it.” “No, I just wanted to talk to you.” “About what? I really have no time for this.” She got up to him and chuckled, “Oh you must have time for me….We have things to discuss.” “And?” “Like what side are you really on?” Malkor took a step back, though kept stiff, “What kind of question that??” “I know you do not like Makuta…I can see it your eyes, your fascinating eyes. Maybe I can help you?” “How can I trust you?” She smiled now getting up to him and putting her sharp finger under his chin, “Because you can. Who else can you turn to? You have no other allies, you are working alone. At the moment you may be pleased at it. But wait until the real wars began….And then you might have second thoughts about it.” Just then General Kaski came into the room, “Sir! I have important…Oh you are busy?” Malkor wanted to yell at Kaski, but decided not to, yet. “No you weren’t. She was just about to leave.” She nodded and turned around and started walking out of the room, “Very well, now remember my dear Malkor, if you change your mind on thoughts, I will be here. Makuta doesn’t know. So no fear?” Then she left. Kaski walked up and looked at his master’s hard expression. “Sir, what was that about?” Angrily Malkor grabbed Kaski by the neck and pushed him against the wall. “It is NONE of your business you bloody idiot! Keep that ugly mouth of yours shut!” Then he dropped him on the ground. Kaski gasped for air and looked at Malkor in surprise. “Sir...” “Now, now Kaski.” Malkor began, suddenly getting an idea, a good one to, “Curiosity killed the Rahi didn’t it?”

The sky was dark and airless it felt like to Hahma as they rode there ships toward Mana-Nua, he wished he could have stayed on Mira-Nui longer. But no, duty calls. It was decided that Kai would stay, just in case anything happened or worse. Three Matoran from Mana-Nua would come also. Sonar, Nantai and Cada. Because they new the Island fairly well and Sonar knew much of the history of the place. Also during the time they stayed on the island to rest, Takanuva kept his promise to Hahma and told many stories about they’re island. And it surprised him to hear that Takanuva was once a Matoran! But now everything seemed darker, and colder. Takanuva came up and nodded at him, “Hey there? Excited?” “No, not really.” Said Hahma with a sigh. Takanuva grinned, “Well I am new with this kind of stuff, so I am going to have to agree with you.” Hahma looked at the ground and mumbled something, the Toa of light looked at him, “What?” Hahma looked straight into Takanuvas eyes, “Do you think that they are still alive? My brothers? Or do you think it’s a hopeless thought?” “Nothings hopeless till you know the truth.” Replied Takanuva. “But I am afraid to know the truth….What if there fate is the same as Toa Galrin?” “You don’t even know if she is dead yet….Tell me what more do you know of her?” “Oh where to start!” Hahma threw his hands in the air, “She is probably one of the most powers Toa to live! Some say she might be even a great spirit. But she doesn’t give out her history openly to anyone, not even to the Turaga, so she has many secrets.” “So….What element does she possess?” “All of them.” Answered Hahma and Takanuva looked surprised. “Though she has golden armor with some black and blue in it. Her Mask power is the Hiika. Similar to the Hau, but much stronger, it’s of electrical shielding. If you get hit by it…” He makes an imitation of an exploding noise, “And Zap! You’ll get fried worst than a Nui-Jaga that fell in some Lava.” Takanuva was now getting really interested and almost made him want to write it down, “So you know much about her?” He shrugged, “Eh, kind of. I never saw her much, as she was usually in the great temple meditating, studying some of the most ancient history or off on Missions.” “Oh that reminds me, speaking back on Mask powers, what is yours?” Takanuva asked. Hahma laughed, “My’n? It’s the Mask power of secret travel.” With that, he formed into particles of sand and went between Takanuvas leg like if it was being moved by the wind, then formed back into the Toa of Stone, “Boo.” The Toa of Light laughed hard, “Well that’s a special mask power!”

Many days passed and finally they spotted land. Looking over Gali stood in deep thought beside Tahu, “This is a big step. Maybe we should scout around before we bring the ships any closer to land.” “No, we’ll be fine sister.” He answered, though he still wasn’t really paying attention which got Gali annoyed. “Tahu this is important! We can’t just go walking up on the land with no idea what’s to come. They’re could be an army right there!” “Discussion closed.” Tahu said firmly with a hard glare at Gali then walked off. She puffed and sat down arms crossed, “Oh Tahu you better know what you’re getting your self into.” Later as the ships quietly landed on shore, the group got out warily. “Takanuva and Lewa, you two go scout!” Tahu called out, and which they quickly obeyed. Looking around the charred woods, the two kept there weapons out. “I hope Tahu knowthinks what he is doing.” Lewa said looking around. “I know what your mean….” Takanuva replied with some uncertainty. “I wonder if I could use my Avhokii….” Just then there was a terrible screech and Lewa and Takanuva covered there ears from the noise, “What is that?!” Takanuva cried. Then, without warning, a creature came from behind and hit Takanuva, making the Toa fall in the muddy ground. Lewa himself had enough time to block the attack.

Hearing the cry, Gali looked around franticly, “Brothers! Something’s wrong!” “Follow me hurry!” Tahu commanded and ran off to the sounds of battling. There, they saw Takanuva getting up from the muddy ground and Lewa was warding off the attacks from some Dark Green Vahki, which themselves matched color of the burned up forest. Tahu jumped behind the Vahki and swung his Magna Swords, sending a stream of fire at the creature, where it hit and got on the Vahki armor, the thing screeched again, which hurt the company’s ear. And it weathered down. “Thanksmuch brother!” Lewa called out. Who then sent a blast of wind at another creature at sent it flying against a large rock. Wiping mud from his face Takanuva met the gaze of Pohatu, who was laughing, “My Takanuva, you do get yourself into messes!” Takanuva grumbled something, then pulled out his staff and swung it at the nearest Vahki, which fell to the ground dead. Just then he over heard Onuas heavy voice cry out, “Brother, look out!” “Not again…” Groaned Takanuva that was all he had time to say or do. A Vahki swung its weapons smack dab onto his mask, making him fall on the mud again, he looked up and suddenly discovered his weapon had been thrown far out of his reach, looking at the creature who now raised his weapons and was about to come down for the striking kill…… ZAP! Then he saw some faded golden long spear go right threw the creature, the Vahki looked down and cried then weathered away in nothingness. As it did the spear flew back into the air and was caught by an unknown hand, the figure walked up to Takanuva and looked down at him, as light came from its mask. “Mata-Nui…..” Takanuva breathed hard, “Toa Galrin…..”

Chapter XV: Planning and Trust

Takanuva stood there frozen, jaw dropped. Toa Galrin was lean and tall, her mask was golden and sharply pointed at the top and her eyes were slightly slanted, as Hahma had said, she was golden mostly with blue on part of her arms and body armor. And something was much different about any other Toa he had known, she was fascinating… She put on a faint smile and gave a hand out to Takanuva, which he accepted. “Toa of light I presume.” She began, her voice was proper and smooth, though cold in another way, “I expected a different attitude for you, but no, as I thought.” Hahma ran up, “Toa Galrin! Praise Mata-Nui, you have returned!” “Not returned….Just come to help in your troubles.” She said quietly. Then she looked over to the Remaining Vahki who were there and had stopped fighting, unknown what to do. “Stand back.” She commanded, and then walked over and her mask glowed, gave out a quick bolt of power, that hit the Vahki, and were electrocuted terribly, they fell down dead in a smoking heat. Then turning back to the astounded Toa, she looked at each one, as if reading there minds, “You should not be startled over such things.” She said calmly, as nothing had even happened. Tahu angrily went up to you, “Thank you for introducing yourself.” “Oh no need for that.” She replied as she put away her weapon, “If you know of me, what use? That would be like repeating time. And I know if I did, you would get impatient with me.” If anyone had spotted Kopaka, you would have seen him grin from faint amusement. “Never mind!....How did you know my name?” “Such questions shall not be answered at this moment.” She replied calmly. Gali then walked up, “Well, it seems that we know each other. So it would be nice to move on….” “Do you have a plan?” Galrin asked. “No.” The Toa of Water answered, who then glared at Tahu. “Then we must.” She said walking over to Hahma, “You do not know the dangers ahead. And of course we must hurry if we want to rescue the others.”

Back at the boats, the Toa crowded around the old map that Vakama had gave them, Galrin inspected it. “This is not from the Archives…..” “Turaga Vakama from the Toa Nuva’s land gave it to me.” Hahma answered. And which Galrin looked at him with interest, “Vakama you say?” “Yes my lady.” She stood there, thinking deeply about the matter then turned back to the map, “Well now, here is where we are.” She pointed on the northern part of the map. “And the dungeons are over here.” Her hand smoothly moved over by two large mountains that were on the upper middle. “There is our first destination if we want to save your brothers and sister Hahma.” “Do you know if they are okay?” Hahma asked, leaning over looking at the map. “No, fate will decide that. Though I do sense they are alive at the moment.” Galrin turned over and looked at each of the Toa, “We will have to leave at dawn and move quickly with secrecy.” “But the Matoran.” Takanuva said, feeling in a way out of place. “They will come, for they will have many important tasks ahead of them. Now please, everyone must get rest and be prepared to depart before the sun rises.” With that she walked off.

Malkor stood, leaning against a table filled with maps. Looking them over, he ignored the sound of two people walking in. “My lord.” Kaski said looking up at him, “Roodaka is here to see you.” “Fine. You may leave now Kaski.” He answered his eyes just barley looking up. The General looked at Malkor, wishing he would change his mind. But Malkor still looked oblivious to him. So, he reluctantly left. After a moment Roodaka spoke, “So…Have you thought about the offer?” “Yes I have.” He said, “And the answer is yes. You may help me if wished.” He paused and looked at her closely, “If this is a trick and I am betrayed to Makuta, you will not see the next day of your life.” “How could I be killed if you were in custody?” She questioned smoothly. “Right.” He began. “Anyway, are those dark hunters up for a Mission?” “They are loyal to Makuta, yet I might be able to change there minds. What do you have in mind?” “Someone…Powerful has returned here.” Malkor answered, now not looking at her, “And some visitors to I believe. Those strangers must be exterminated.” “How do you know if anyone is here?” “One I can sense a presence on the island that is unknown and secondly there have been reports of missing Vahki squads. Enough questions now! Can you do as I ask? If you are in my service now.” “No.” She answered leaning over the table, her face merely inches from the dark toas face. “I offered help, not service….But maybe in time. I will inform the Dark Hunters.” “And don’t make me think that Makuta is a total idiot and oblivious over this?” Malkor pointed out. “I will handle that.” She said, “Do not worry, you have my trust, Makuta is worthless to me now. But you.” She began leaning now much closer to Malkors silver eyes, “Will become far more powerful and greater. See how darkness has made you better? You are no puny Toa anymore….You are far greater. And soon I sense will overpower even the greatest of spirits!” The words suddenly made Malkor more comfortable, those few sentences made Roodaka sound trustworthy. Then she leaned back and headed out of the door. Once outside she chuckled darkly, “And so the games begin.”

Chapter XVI: Takanuva speaks with Galrin

It had been two days since they had departed from where they had met Toa Galrin. Now they were on there way to go save the other Toa who were captured. The group was now resting and Galrin was now showing out plans, “We are almost to the great twin mountains, which is where we will find the dungeons that have our friends.” She said pointing her finger at the area on the map. Tahu moved over and studied it, “And how do you feel we should get in?” He mocked. “Tahu, I never meant to be pointed out as the leader. If that is annoying you. You can do some directing.” She answered truthfully, then got up and walked off. Tahu grumbled something and looked over the map again. “You seem to be getting along with her.” Pohatu joked. “Oh be quiet.” Tahu said giving an irritated glare at him.

Galrin came and found Takanuva with Jaller, who were watching Kongu, climb a tree. She looked up and puffed, “Foolish. He shall get himself hurt.” Takanuva nearly jumped when he turned to see her beside him, “Oh! Toa Galrin…” “Did I surprise you?” She inquired as she inclined her head. “No….Just startled.” He corrected with a grin, and Jaller caught him blush. “Hey lookwatch at me!!” Kongu said waving his hands, now on one of the top branches, “Look, look at me!” Just then he lost his footing and fell down the tree with some racket. Hitting nearly each branch as he fell, he came down into some grass with a thump. “I new that was going to happen….To obvious.” Galrin said shaking her head, though Takanuva and Jaller were dieing of laughter. She walked over and knelt beside him, “Are you ok?” He groaned, “Yah…..Ouch……” She revealed a smile and helped him get up, “No harm done thankfully….” He rubbed his head and walked off followed by Galrin. Takanuva stopped laughing and watched them walk back to camp. Jaller grinned, “You like her.” “What??” He said, almost jumping, “I do not! Your mask is on to tight.” “Well your mask is on to loose, Do so!” “Do not!” “Do so!” “Do….not!” “How long do think this argument will last?” “When you give up.” Takanuva laughed.

Another day passed and the group was now on top of the mountain, almost nearing to there designation…. Kongu now was bored of the silence, and decided to make use of it. Walking over to a pile of snow and made a large ball. He look over with a smirk for his victim. Then seeing Matoro talking to Sonar and Nuparu about something he snuck behind then without making attention to himself, “Hey Matoro!” Matoro turned his head toward him, “Wha-” Then a blur of white came at him a he ducked. But sadly hitting another person. Matoro laughed, “Missed me! Geee Kongu, you think you could-” He paused once again and saw the face of Nuparu who seemed to have a beard made out of snow. “KONGU!” Nuparu roared then ran over and tackled the startled Le-Matoran into the snow. Matoro sighed and looked at Sonar who didn’t look amused. “They do this often?” Sonar asked Matoro. “Sure do.” “How much?” “A lot, so get used to it.”

A few hours later, the group was resting in a good size cave, with a small fire going. Nuparu had a blanket over him and was shivering, hands out by the fire. Hafu was beside him laughing about the joke, and making Nuparu annoyed. The others were already asleep, talking or eating. Galrin stood by the Toa for a moment in silence then spoke up, “I will take first watch.” With that she headed out to the entrance to the cave. Takanuva wasn’t sure what to do at the moment, but then decided to join her. He got up and caught up with Galrin who was already outside, who had her arms crossed, and eyes closed. “You need some Company?” Takanuva asked. “Of course, very kind of you.” She said, now looking up at him with a soft smile. “But there is more?” Takanuva feeling now very strange and awkward, leaned slightly on his feet, “Well….I needed to tell you something that might be important.” “Like what?” “Back on the refuge Island….I had this dream….And I think you were in it.” “What was it about?” Galrin ask now sitting down on a rock. “You were there….And this other one…..He most definably was evil…..and he attacked you…” She looked at the ground, and sighed, “Malkor…..” He was now confused and sat beside her. “What do you mean?” “You saw us fight, I do not know if this is a vision, or just thoughts of the past. But either way, I do not know how you got that dream.” “Makuta?” Takanuva inquired. “Maybe….” She said, then going into thought. “Though this dream could be important….I will have to meditate over this….” They were silent till Takanuva spoke up, “Why didn’t you kill him?” Galrin looked up and knew who he was referring to. Malkor. She remembered leaving him there to die, but she could never finish him off. Somewhere, she knew he still had some good in him…. “I gave him a chance.” She replied, “I knew he would somehow escape death that day. And I hopefully prayed that he would change his mind about that path he chose. Though it was a mistake.” Galrin then paused and thought something over, “Some that live deserve death…And others that die deserve life. It is all on your point of view.” “You thought he deserved life?” Galrin was quiet for a moment, “Yes.” She looked at the ground, “I thought I could save him….” “You may still have hope for that.” “No Takanuva….” Galrin said sadly, “It is to late for that…”

Chapter XVII: The Rescue

Roodaka walked down a dark corridor and found the two dark hunters. She went up Trox, who bent down and looked at her, “What?” It boomed in a heavy voice. “I have a mission for you.” She said calmly. “What kind?” “Malkor says there are Toa on the island-” “Makuta know of this?” Galbor asked. “He will….Do not worry.” She said. “What would you like us to do?” Asked Trox, who now almost looked excited. “Kill them.” She said darkly, her voice was violently harsh, as if it was alien to her. They nodded and were about to leave till Roodaka spoke up again, “But bring the Toa of Light back to me and any others you wish.” The two didn’t even give a reply, they stared at her as if saying ‘yes’. Then rushed off.

The next morning, everyone was in a rush. Tahu was sorting out plans how to get into the dungeons, and the Matoran doing whatever they could help in. Tahu had then finished talking to Gali, looked at the Toa of light who was silently watching. “Takanuva, you’ll need to stay here. We need a Toa to guard our hideout and watch over the Matoran.” Takanuva looked up surprised, Why me? He thought. He wanted to say something, but he wasn’t really sure if he was ready to argue with Tahu. “Fine.” He answered. Then he looked around, hoping to see if any of the other Toa would volunteer. To his surprise, Galrin came up. “I will stay with you. They have plenty of Toa for this rescue mission, and you never know what could happen here.” Takanuva sighed inwardly with relief and almost blushed but stopped himself. Lewa saw his expression and winked at him. And Takanuva turned away with embarrassment. Pohatu was shocked at that, “But-” “You will not need my help.” She answered. “Now, you all must hurry, for you have not much time. May Mata-Nui guide you.” Quickly Sonar ran up, “I have been in these dungeons many times and know my way around, I can help you.” “Very well.” Tahu said not looking at Sonar, “Now come on! We have Toa to save.”

The group of Toa and the one Matoran had found a way to get in from the back. Hahma used his mask power and went beneath the crack under the door and killed the two Vahki Guards. Now, all of them were in and looking around carefully. “Onua and Pohatu, you two guard the entrance.” Tahu commanded. Onua nodded in agreement, “Be careful brother.” “We will.” Gali answered. Then the group silently rushed off into one of the dark halls. Sonar was looking around and murmuring to himself pausing at doors and studying them. “Well?” Hahma asked. “Patients!” Snapped Sonar rudely, “Let’s see…..This way!” With that the Ko-Matoran ran off followed by the Toa. “How do you know they’ll be in the one we’re going to?” Asked Tahu, “They could be in any one!” “But they’re one up ahead built to keep in powerful foes.” Sonar replied, not stopping to turn around. “And where else to keep a Toa?” Then he paused at a turn and pointed, they’re stood four strong looking Vahki. “We’ll have to kill them off quietly.” Whispered Gali, “Suggestions?” Kopaka asked looking at her. “Let’s just run up and kill the blasted things!” Tahu answered, but Lewa shook his head. “Not a smartbad idea….If you want to get killslaughtered.” “I’ll use my mask power to get they’re attention.” Said Hahma. “And we’ll use our Kakama.” Gali said, which was returned by a nod from Hahma. Quickly he turned into particles and inched over to the Vahki, quickly. Two of them noticed that and pointed, “What that?” “Ahh, it is nothing.” Another one answered as they watched it get closer and closer, now almost oblivious to any thing else. “Now!” Tahu said, they then switched to there Kakamas and sped over to the Vahki, before they could do anything, they were a pile of rubble. Tahu laughed, “That’s more like it!” The four switched back and Sonar came running up to them. Lewa went over the door, “Anyone there!? We come to savehelp!” For a moment it was silent then they heard another voice behind the door. “Stand back.” Tahu said, with that he blasted down the door with a stream of fire. After a few minutes, a green mask popped up. “’Bout time you bloody selves got here!” He said angrily, yet still looked weak. Then turned and saw Hahma, “Hahma!” He said joyfully, “Oi it’s glad to see you.” Hahma ran over and helped him out of the rubble, letting his arm over his shoulder. “Rahgan, oh it should be the other way, I was afraid that’ I never see you.” “You need to help the others.” Rahgan answered. “Poor Hordar got his arm crushed and Sahkanii used up her energy to help Hordar.” “And Kakau?” Hahma asked. “Don’t get me started on him, the idiot tried to escape and got himself tortured for it.” Lewa and Tahu went in and came out with Hordar, a large Black and grey Toa, but his arm was badly bent. Kakau, a white Toa was in fact one of the shortest Toa Tahu had ever seen. He was at least a foot shorter than everyone. He was wounded up and looked barley conscious. Sahkanii came out with Lewa; her blue Toa body was faded and dirty. She was small and lightly lean, making her ‘look’ younger. She was barley paying attention where she was going, let go of Lewa, tripped on a crack in the floor and went right in Kopakas arms. She looked up and blushed, “Hey there.” Before she could say anything else she fainted. Quickly, Kopaka picked her up. “Need help brother?” Lewa asked. “No.” He answered. Turned around, and asked Gali a question. If you did see Lewa, he looked like he was on the verge of some serious laughter. "Wait...Where is Iroik?" Hahma asked looking around. Rahgan frowned, "He wasen't put with us....We think he is with Malkor...Or worse." Hahma looked down at the ground, and Lewa put a hand on his shoulder, "Sorrymuch, but no time for sorrow, qucikspeed is needed!" “Let’s go.” Tahu said, who then the group started to go back to where Onua and Pohatu was, till Rahgan spoke up, “Wait, we need to get our weapons.” “Where are they?” Hahma asked. “That door up there.” He said pointing. There the group rushed in and found them. Rahgan didn’t have a sword or spear, yet many sharp and long blades that attached to his knuckles. Hordar had two long and heavy looking swords that were shaped in a way like pickaxes, Sahkanii had two long and slender swords that look like hooks, and Kakau had a weapon called a daggertail, very much like a whip, but with sharp blades that covered all of it. Now almost reaching the door, they heard the sound of marching. “More Vahki than we can handle it seems.” Tahu muttered. “Everyone get against the wall!” Rahgan commanded, which everyone did. Rahgan closed his eyes and concentrated. Quickly everyone became camouflaged and the group of 20 Vahki passed without notice. After positive they were gone, Rahgan stopped and everyone returned to normal. He looked at Lewa weakly, “Mask of Camouflage.” After that, they ran up where Pohatu and Onua had there weapons out, and more Vahki were scattered. “Had muchfun?” Lewa joked. “Sure thing.” Pohatu said, “Come on, we’re free to go. Except a blizzard is starting!” With that they ran out, to meet the cloudy skies, and snow and cold strong winds started to hit. After awhile Tahu looked at Gali. “You know what? This all seemed a little too easy.” Up atop a ledge, completely hidden, two dark hunters watch the group. Trox looked down at them, “Yes…..To easy.”

Chapter XVIII: Toa meets Hunter

Galrin looked threw the snow to see many weary figures slowly walk into the cave. She walked quickly over and helped Kopaka get Sahkanii. “Is she well?” Galrin inquired as she went threw some packs and put a blanket over her. “Fairly, she just fainted.” Kopaka answered, and then walked away. A few moments later Gali came by her, “I can help you with the healing.” Galrin just nodded in agreement and walked off to help one of the Toa as did Gali.

The next morning the blizzard had gone, only leaving more snow and dark clouds that still filled up the skies. Hahma couldn’t go to sleep that previous night, and he had gotten up rather early in the morning. He left the cave and started silently explore outside. Sitting beside a ledge on a rock, thoughts filled his head. He had no idea how long he had been there, until a voice came from behind him. “You want to freeze outside??” He turned and saw Sahkanii soft sincere grin. “Sahkanii you’re alright!” Hahma said with a jump. Walked over and they embraced. “Of course I am okay, what did you expect?” Sahkanii laughed looking at him, “Ahh I missed much of the rescue mission…What happened?” Hahma then went threw what had happened and occurred, also giving a brief story of his previous adventures. She nodded understandingly and stretched. “I wish I was in your feet, sounds better than being stuck in an old awful dungeon!” “Yes I must agree with you on that.” He grinned. “But ummm, who was carrying me?” Sahkanii asked. “That was Toa Kopaka…” Hahma said with a little reluctance. “Oh! Well he wasn’t any bad looking Toa I might say.” Hahma just nodded and rocked on his feet. She grinned and brought up an eyebrow. “What, are you jealous?” Hahma chuckled, “You make every guy Jealous.” She laughed and turned at a voice from behind. Koi was running up, knees deep in snow, “Hey hey! There you two are. We were wondering where-” Koi was almost at him when he fell into at least 5 feet of snow, and Hahma and Sahkanii blurted out laughing. His head came out of the snow and he glared daggers at them, “It wasn’t funny!” “Maybe you should get a foot or two higher that might help!” Hahma joked, and then quickly stopped as did Sahkanii who gasped. “What?” Koi asked who had now gotten out of the snow and turned around where the others were looking. There stood two large creatures, towering over Koi. “Nice seeing you Toa again.” One of them spat, then faster than Koi could do anything, one pulled out its whip and grabbed Koi by the legs, yanking him over to a wall with a thud. “GO get the others!” Hahma cried to Sahkanii, which she obeyed and ran off. Hahma pulled out his weapons and pointed at him, “Back off!” One of the creatures snarled. “How dare you speak to us Dark Hunters like that?” “Oh you know us. Always up for a dare.” Hahma said grinning. Then ran over and swung his two axe-like swords at his enemies. One of the Hunters went behind him and kicked him, making him hit a rock and fall down unconscious. Trox nodded, “Remember, get the Toa of Light and leave.” “Well I have been meaning to put some Toa Heads on my shields.” Galbor pointed out. “You won’t have a head if we waste time with these things.” Trox snorted, “But sure go ahead.” They jumped down the ledge where they were met up with the rest of the Toa. Galrin frowned in discuss, “It’s nice to see you gentlemen.” “Enough talk.” Trox snapped. Which quickly he quickly used his crossbow; Galrin spun her staff and blocked it. Running over Lewa pulled out his own weapon and swung at the creature making a gust of wind, pushing the Hunters back a little. But Galbor brought out his two swords and hit the ground, making a large cracking noise. The ground quickly split, making the Toa get off guard. Trox ran over and was about to fire at Gali when Koi and Hahma came down, Koi’s Daggertail first. He spun it, its sharp claws tearing Trox’s armor right off with a single swipe. Trox grimaced whirled around and blocked the second attack by the Toa of Ice. Kicked Pohatu and hitting him with his whip. He fell back with a thump. It might look like the Toa had outnumbered the two Dark Hunters, but after awhile, it seemed to go the other way. The Toa were now fighting for there lives as it looked like the Hunters were fighting with ease. Finally, Trox shot something in the ground and Galbor brought his swords in the ground, making a great sonic wave. All the Toa fell back at the attack. Takanuva hit the ground and before he could do anything, out of the smoke, something hit him, and one of the Dark Hunters grabbed him. Now he tried to fight back, but discovered his weapon was taken from him. Then turning he saw Galrins mask light up, and was about to hit the Dark ones. Takanuva cried out, but Galrin didn’t notice and it was too late. It hit the hunters and Takanuva, making them fall off the ledge. He heard someone call out his name and then he hit the icy water. He couldn’t move now as the hunter was still holding him and was going down to the bottom of the deadly river. Something hit him in the head and he blacked out.

Galrin ran over to the edge and cried out Takanuvas name, “No no!” She was about to jump when Tahu ran over and grabbed her. “No don’t! We can’t afford to loose you to!” “But…No…” She looked at the ground, “I have failed again…” Then they heard Onua, “Where is Hahma??”

Chapter XIX:

Roodaka stooped down a balcony to see a dark figure run in the fortress, she turned around and glided down the stairs to see Galbor and Malkor, and a Toa on the ground. “I am impressed Galbor.” Roodaka said cleanly, “You did what I wanted.” Galbor turned to her angrily, “With a price. Trox is dead!” Malkor frowned and turned at the two, “I said kill them all Roodaka! No hostages, now what will we have to say to Makuta??” Roodaka was silent. Then grinned darkly, “He won’t mind…Besides, this Toa will please him.” Galbor pick the Toa up right when he regained consciousness, he flung him over to Malkor. Takanuva looked at the ground for a moment then turned his head upward to see the scared face of a Dark Toa. He held a straight face, showing no emotion. A tattered black cape stood motionless on his side, and his scar that went over his mask had a sickish green look. “This….Who is it?” Malkor demanded. “Why it is the Toa of Light of course.” Roodaka said calmly, “An honorable prize.” “Him for the death of a Hunter??” He angrily paused and turned around, not facing the group. “Who did it?” Galbor snorted, “A powerful golden Toa. She hit us off the ledge with-” Malkor angrily yelled and threw his sword and it hit the wall. “YOU DIDN’T KILL HER??” He yelled madly. “We’ll see whose dead when I am done with you!” “No such words Malkor…” Makuta chuckled and walked over, ignoring Takanuva. “If one of my dark hunters is dead, I don’t think we will need another one dead for now.” Takanuva froze were he lay. I sure got myself into a mess this time….He thought warily. Malkor still full of rage looked at Kaski who had just come in, “General! Take that…. Toa and throw him into any dungeon you wish, I will fool with him later.” Kaski obeyed and called two other Vahki who walked over to Takanuva. Before they could grab him Takanuva jumped and kicked a Vahki and was about to make a run for it when something hit him on the back. Making him fall to the ground with a thud. “You leavin that fast?” Kaski laughed and he put his weapon by his neck. “Keep an extra eye on that one.” Makuta pointed out, “He’s a tricky one.” As the Vahki brought Takanuva to his feet and began to bind his hands. Takanuva suddenly felt a pang of humiliation. The one I sought to destroy is right in front of me! Takanuva angrily thought. “You won’t hear the last of me.” The Toa growled. “Of course, it’s what I am expecting from you.” Makuta eyed him in a sinister way. Takanuva gave him one hard look before being taken out of the room.

Hahma hid up on a ledge, a safe distance from the fortress, but a good enough view to see. He had been hit by Trox and had also fell in the water, but instead of finding the Toa Nuva and others, he decided to follow Galbor, hoping for a chance to get Takanuva back, sadly it never came. But at least he knew where he was taken. Getting out of his hiding place he began to run back the direction he came from, it would take a full day to make it back to the others, but he had no choice.

Hahli sat by Macku at silently watched Galrin who was sitting the opposite side of them and was in deep thought. Her face was expressionless, but grief showed threw it. “I hope she’s okay.” Macku whispered to Hahli. The Ga-Matoran nodded, “Yah know how you feel.” Then turned to see the same expression on Jaller who passed them carrying supplies. “Think about Jaller, him being one of Takanuvas best friends.” “Him finally being captured.” Macku said sadly. “I hope they don’t do anything harmful to him.” “Sorry to darken your mood.” Said Matoro walking up, “But there’s a high chance Takanuvas going to get a beating.” “You really know how to make a girls day.” Macku mumbled annoyed. “And what about Hahma?” Hafu questioned as he and Nuparu had listened to the whole conversation from behind them. “You think he got captured?” “Could be, or under the water with one of those Dark Hunters Galrin got. Shoot the other one for making it!” Nuparu ranted. After he had said that, Galrin stood up, “Calm down, we will save them both if needed. But I believe its time to leave this place. It is not safe anymore.” “Where next?” Tahu questioned. “We will have to divide up, one to save and find Takanuva and Hahma, the others to go on a Task with me.” “What kind of Task?” Galrin closed her eyes, “I will speak of it later. It is of fear and death….” Still confused Tahu walked off mumbling to himself. Nearly an hour later, the group was ready to leave. Kopaka, Sahkanii, Rahgan, Pohatu, Galrin, Lewa, and Matoro, Sonar, Jaller, Hahli and Macku would go on the Mission that Galrin requested. The others would go and find Hahma and Takanuva. “Time to depart,” Galrin said quietly, “May Mata-Nui protect us all!”

Takanuva was thrown into a dungeon, and for his luck hit a wall awfully hard. For a moment he lay there trying to figure out what had all come to pass, slowly rose and straightened his mask and looked around in the blinding dark. Then he heard a moan. Quickly his eyes adjusted to the darkness and saw a crumpled figure that lay there, going beside the figure it looked up and grinned, “Oh that’s a sight to see…..” Takanuva could barely understand him as his voice was extremely hoarse. “Who are you?” Takanuva asked, seeing the stranger to be a Toa. “I’m Iroik……” His voice trailed off, he couldn’t speak any further as it looked like it pained him to do so. So this is there leader! Takanuva thought surprised He looks awful….How could they do this to him? “Ummm hang on.” Takanuva looked around and saw a small bowl of water, grabbing it he gave it to him. “I was going to get it, but my legs wouldn’t let me.” He joked slightly. Taking it and drinking it all very quickly. Slowly he fixed himself against the wall. “Now, who are you?” “Takanuva. Hahma made it to our island and we came to help.” The Toa of light explained. “And I well got captured myself.” He chuckled roughly, “That’s a good move.” He closed his eyes. As an hour slowly passed the door opened and General Kaski stood there staring at the two, “Time to move.” He spat pointing at Takanuva. Taking a deep breath he got up and went out, where he was kicked to the ground again by Kaski. Irritably, Takanuva brought out his fist ready to knock his lights out when someone grabbed his hand from behind. A grip that felt like death itself. “What are you doing? Playing around with my General.” Malkor stood there, and Takanuva could see the pure hate in his eyes, and pain. It’s hard to believe Galrin was an ally with him. “Lets try this again….Will you cooperate or not??” Takanuva grimaced. “It matters.” Malkor mood darkened, “I am not playing around with you. I have no patients for this.” Quickly Kaski grabbed him again and Malkor stood back. “General, take him to the lower cells.”

Chapter XX:

Rain pounded down to the ground, hitting Galrin mask as she examined the area. Grey mist went around the place, as dark clouds could be seen between the trees. Vines, torn down trees and overgrown grass and large thorns that went over the ancient ruins and statues that were scattered. A cold and depressed feeling lagged about the group. No one spoke, only silently watching Galrins walk smoothly and slow looking straight ahead as if in a spell. “A darkquiet place this is.” Lewa pointed out to Rahgan who was walking beside him, “No life at all here.” “Yah, this freshens my mood.” Rahgan mumbled grumpily. Jaller wasn’t much better; twice for some reason, he had tripped and fell face forward in muddy water, Macku had joked it was his bad luck, which didn’t make things better. Cold and wet and tired of the entire group he turned to Hahli, “When will we stop? If I fall in one more puddle….” Matoro answered before Hahli could, “When she says so, she would have stopped if everything was fine, so I guess that concludes that something is wrong.” Jaller just grunted tiredly as he jerked his foot out of some mud. Hahli sighed and put a hand on his shoulder, “Jaller we’ll find him.” Jaller nodded then saw Hahli’s face, as if fighting not to cry. It was an strange expression for her. “Maybe you need just as much comfort as I do.” Hahli just grinned tiredly. Wiping the rain from his mask Kopaka took long strides as his foot splashed into deep puddles of water. Now beside Galrin who was looking around with wary eyes. “We cannot stop.” She said quietly, her voice smoother than usual, “We are being watched.” “By who?” Kopaka questioned, as he was about to scan the area. “Do not use your vision.” Galrin said, “It will attract them.” Kopaka just gave a quick nod and fixed his shield in a more comfortable position. But thoughts kept on going threw about who was Galrin was talking about. A few hours later the group stopped and Galrin looked threw the mist. She’s tense…. Pohatu thought, then stopped quickly when up ahead he saw a small temple. Two large curved rocks on either side of where some steps led to the dark and old ruin. “There.” Galrin pointed to an overhanging statue that could hold the group without getting wet. “Is where we may rest.” The company moved under the rock where they placed blankets and food out. The Matoran tiredly lay down and silently talked among themselves. Galrin sat there for a moment with the Toa then spoke, “I must go into there, yet none shall come.” Confused Pohatu looked at her, “Surely you won’t do that? Least let a few of us go with you.” Galrin nodded sadly, “Very well….Kopaka and Sahkanii, come. You both can make my job easier.” Still feeling left out, Pohatu decided to get some things straight. “But why are we over here? What can this help us with?” “You must be patient.” Galrin whispered. Quickly enough, Galrin, Kopaka and Sahkanii ran over to the dark doors, pushing them, the doors opened with a groan, where the Toa were met by darkness. Walking in Galrin pulled out her long spear and hit it on the ground, where her staff became covered with many symbols that had a golden glow to it, making better light.

Tahus group, moved on, instead of cold and rain, they were met by heat and dryness. Plants and trees were scorched and dry, though dark clouds began to cover the sky…. Koi was grumbling to himself about the place being to hot when Hordar came up to him. Compared to Hordar Koi look small and weak. Hordar looked down and grinned, “Well isn’t this fancy? I thought you melted already.” Now, Hordar didn’t mean anything against that, but Koi always found his comments to be bothersome. “Well to make things easier it would help if Hahma came up.” “What? Ha! Like he be running up and one of the others would say ‘Hey look there’s Hahma!’” “Hey look, there’s Hahma!” Gali called out pointing to a figure tiredly walking. Koi couldn’t help but laugh, and was met by the taken aback face of his friend. “You made your point all right.” Who then walked over to Gali. Hahma looked up slowly from the ground and smiled, “Thank goodness! Thought I never find you.” “I was about to say the same thing!” Koi smirked. “Where’s Takanuva?” Tahu asked quickly running up. Hahma cleared his throat, “I followed the Dark Hunter, but never got the chance to get Takanuva.” Tahu looked at him for a long moment, “You didn’t even try?” “If I did, I wouldn’t be here to tell him where he is.” “Hahma did the right thing.” Onua said getting between Tahu and Hahma, “Now go on.” Hahma nodded, “He’s in Malkors large fortress about a couple days walk from here.” “It WAS an abandoned dark temple.” Cada said followed by Nantai, “Galrin made it off limits till Malkor took over.” “And that’s not all.” Hahma replied sitting down on a near by Bolder, “Makuta is here.” Tahu muttered something then looked at the others, “We should have known!” “Not to sound strange, but I don’t think Makuta has done anything yet, this is all Malkors planning I bet.” “I fear for Takanuva.” Gali said, “He is in for the worst there, especially now that Makuta is around.” “So what do we do?” Hafu asked worried. “I bet that Fortress…Erm what ever it is, is well built, and is guarded by all sorts of things.” “There is evil there that does not sleep.” Cada pointed with a voice heavy and almost dark, “Malkor is one of them.” “So we can’t just go in there and do a quicksave like last time?” Kongu said thoughtfully. Onua rubbed the back of his neck. “Seems we are in a sticky situation.”

Takanuva was thrown into a dark, wet and uncomfortable looking cell. Getting up quickly, he turned around. Kaski walked slyly in followed by the heavy strides of Malkor. “Well.” Began Malkor, “This room seems the suite you better.” Takanuva scowled as he gripped his hands. “Don’t think I am going to go along with this.” “Defiant, angry, strong will.” Malkor said walking over to the Toa, “Reminds me of someone I knew.” Takanuva suddenly thought on what he said, he meant himself! Malkor continued, “Yes. When I was weak.” He mumbled darkly, “Now I am better than ever.” “Doesn’t look like it.” Takanuva said, looking at his scar and dented armor. “Anger soon just destroys you.” “Ha! A puny Turaga saying to keep Toa from being to Powerful.” Malkor spat. “I learned my true path, what about you? Why follow the so called good side?” “Because I don’t want corrupted power and death.” Takanuva argued, trying to control his anger. “You sure? Everyone has a weakness for it.” Takanuva now was taking deep breaths, trying to calm down. “Your friends are going to die, no matter what you do to stop me. You’re going to fall.” He got up in the Toa’s face, “One by one, I will kill your hides off the face of this Island, and no legend will ever remember to tell the tell.” Takanuva couldn’t stand it. I won’t let him do this to me! Quickly, he swung his hand at Malkor, where he caught it, twisted his arm quickly and ripped off his Mask. Then turned him around and threw over at the wall. Silently groaning as he clutched his arm he turned to see Malkor who looked at Kaski. “He’s yours.” Kaski nodded excitedly as he pulled out an electrical whip. Malkor turned and started out, then paused by the door, though didn’t look back, “If you want to see Galrin again, or any of the others. I suggest you’ll soon collaborate.”

Galrin silently walked down the tunnel suddenly sensing a hint of pain. She closed her eyes. “We do not have much time.” Takanuvas in pain... “What?” Sahkanii asked, seeing Galrin put a hand on the side of the wall. Not answering the question, she started to walk quickly again. Where Sahkanii and Kopaka just looked at each other, and then moved on following her. Then after a moment, the three Toa came into a large opening. A small circler hole was at the top of the domed area, making light and showing the hundreds of ancient writing and drawings that covered the wall. “Amazing.” Sahkanii gasped as she moved her hands across the wall, studying the writing. “Now.” Galrin began, “Kopaka, use your vision to see threw the walls….There should be a hollow place.” Kopaka nodded and scanned the area closely, after a moment he pointed. “Right there.” Galrin quickly walked over there. “Sahkanii, use your mask power to open the door.” Sahkanii quickly caught on and went threw the wall. For a moment everything was silent till the part of the wall opened reveling Sahkanii and another dark corridor. “Wait here.” Galrin said who then walked off into the darkness.

Chapter XXI:

Galrin walked down the Dark Corridor in silence. Her thoughts were on Malkii, remembering the day that she regretted of all her life…

Malkii stood there walking quickly into another underground tunnel, looking around. He knew that Dark Hunter was hiding. “Blasted idiot.” He muttered looking around the unsettling area. Annoyed he walked deeper into the cavern. The ancient Tunnels had been here even before the Matoran of Mana-Nua had came here. Turaga Tohkan had said it was of ancient evil. But now, an annoying hunter had chosen to escape the Toas grip by running into them. Malkii started to a quick pace to a run. He turned another corner to see the Hunter. Or better words, a dead hunter. “What on earth.” He said to himself. “Someone beat me to him…” “I did.” Said a cold voice that put chills threw Malkii. Quickly he pulled out his sword, “Who are you??” "I am everything, though I Am Nothing" The voice said A bit louder. Malkor edging backward and bit more, “I'm warning you, don't come any or...” he was cut off. “Or what, how can you hit me if you can't see me....." Malkor knelt down in pain, his head was splitting, "What is this that is doing this to me?" he thought, more pain surged thought his head until he was lying there....unconscious as the entity began to cover his body….

“NO!” Malkor shouted as that vision went threw his mind, he felt the same pain. His scar blazed as he forced himself to keep standing. Grinding his hand on the side of the wall, he breathed in gasps. He sensed something was changing; he looked down to see his right hand slowly start to form a curved golden line that turned into a partial spiral. He then watched amazed as small jagged point tore threw his hand. Grimaced with the pain he heard the voice again. It is time…it said, do not fight back, if you want revenge over Galrin, to finish you’re conquering and to destroy the Toa….you must listen. “Are you fine Malkor?” A voice said from behind. Malkor spun around quickly and put his right hand behind his back, Roodaka stood there. “I’m fine!” Malkor snapped, “What do you want?” “I would like to know where Takanuva is kept.” “That is off limits Roodaka.” Malkor replied. She slightly sighed, “Makuta want to know where Takanuva is kept.” Oh that changes everything , Malkor thought irritated. “Lower cells, once down there Vahki guards can take you.” Roodaka smiled, “Thank you…” Who then walked off slowly. Malkor slowly retrieved his hand from behind his back and looked at it. Patients….. The voice said, Prepare……for our greatest hour.

Finally Galrin saw a light, another circler opening in the roof. She looked ahead, and she was met by a dead end. But that was not all. There, in the hands of a Statue, was a long curved dagger. Ancient symbols covered it. This is what Galrin needed, to save Malkor. From the time before time, dark creatures were created by an unknown force, they were called the legion. An ancient infection, turning yourself into the evil that is hidden in everyone, like what happened to Malkor. It had infected him, taken over his soul and now is slowly taking over him even more, if she could not stop it, the Toa she once knew would be lost. She had kept that secret from everyone; the others quickly had said that it was Malkors own will that had done it; he had brought it upon himself. No, Galrin had gone too far to quit now. The dagger of souls, its ancient powers to destroy an infected spirit from the legion. Though Galrin had many problems, she didn’t know much about it except in legends and had recently discovered where it lay. And how would she know if this worked? Anyway, it was created by the shadows. Walking up to it, her hands slowly touched the cold glowing blade. It was curved, giving it an imitating look. Dull golden and a blue that looked almost black were its colors, and the blade it self of a shiny silver with rust on the sides. Slowly, Galrin picked it up and examined it; she felt its power move silently from within, waiting to be unleashed. Suddenly she heard a noise, and the hole in the roof was covered, darkness went threw the room. Galrin spun around and put the dagger up. They are here. She thought moving quickly out of the corridor, her quick pace went to a run, and franticly called out, “Kopaka, Sahkanii RUN!” The two heard her and turned back, soon they saw her figure run out, she looked at them, “Have you no ears? I said to-” Before she could finish the whole place seemed to get covered in shadows.

Matoro was fast asleep till he heard a thump, jerking up; he noticed that the puddles of water had ripples in it, getting bigger and bigger. Standing quick, he ran and shook Jaller, and Hahli, “Get up! Something’s wrong!” Jaller slowly sat up and looked at Matoro half awake, “What?” Just then there was a screech and they saw a great flock of birds leave the upper trees in fear, the place almost seemed to become a misty grey, leaves moved all over as the wind became stronger. Lewa, Pohatu and Rahgan ran over to the Matoran. “What the heck??” Rahgan cried aloud. “This doesn’t seem good at all.” Pohatu muttered as he noticed the small tremors. Just then, the doors of the temple blasted open, and they watched as the three Toa flew out. Sahkanii hit a tree and fell into some water. As Kopaka skidded down into some water, but quickly got up. And Galrin narrowly missed a statue. Then slowly the attacker came out of the Temple. Its black body, covered with glowing symbols, his cold red eyes looked around unmerciful. Black mist seemed to almost come out of his body. The keeper would not tolerate this.

Koi, Tahu, Onua and Hahma hid on a ledge, watching the dark fortress, and planning what there next move should be. “Well.” Tahu said in thought, “What can we do?” “That’s what we came here to do not say.” Koi keenly said coldly. “Well, we can’t get him by walking up and stealing them right under there noses like last time.” Hahma agreed tiredly. “Well….What if we could at least get one of us in there? Then maybe we could get them to escape.” Onua said quietly. “What if we do that and discover that one of them has gotten a leg off or even worse?” Koi snapped. Tahu rubbed the side of his Mask, this seemed to get them no where, yet the longer they waiting, and the worst could be for there two friends. “We could….” Tahu suddenly paused in a very small grin. “What??” Hahma asked looking at him. Onua grinned, “Its seems that our brother has just thought of a plan.”

Chapter XXII:

Galrin jerked herself up from the ground and pulled out her staff, and pointed it and the strange being. “You have taken what cannot be touched, you have possessed the sacred.” It said in a booming voice like thunder. “I am Toa Galrin of elements, and the handmaiden for the Great Mata-Nui, I am in need of it or someone I love shall die.” Galrin said, hoping to get around this, maybe it would understand, but it was hopeless. “Do you think I care for the other?” It rumbled, “Return it or I will be sure you are cursed for all eternity, I am the Keeper, and I protect this and keep it for the shadows. You may not get away with such power in your grasp.” With that he hit his hands down on the ground, making a terrible earthquake, the group all fell or grasped something to stay up. Galrin quickly hit her staff into the ground to help herself to stay balanced. Then she turned to see Lewa jump up and charge as he pulled out his Katanas. “Don’t!” Galrin cried out, but he did not hear. Lewa jumped beside the keeper and was about the make a wind storm at it when it hit Lewa knocking on the ground. As the entity raised its arms, Pohatu activated his Kakama and rushed over, grabbing the Toa of Air before the Keeper hit its hands down. Pohatu quickly laid Lewa by the Matoran. And called over to Sahkanii. “Sister! Watch the Matoran and Lewa.” She was still slightly dizzy, but nodded and ran over as she pulled out her hook rapiers. Galrin dodged an attack by there enemy, who had sent out a series of powerful blasts. Then she used her Mask Power, and an electric energy moved around her like the Mask of Shielding, except anyone who would touch this shield would probably get a bad shock. Or worse. She closed her eyes and made a electricity bolt that went straight to there foe. It knocked it down, but the Keeper didn’t show any signs that it was damaged. Galrin turned to see Kopaka who was already following her plan. He rushed over, and froze the water that had surrounded the Keeper; quickly it froze, sticking him into hard ice. For that split second she thought they had a chance to bring it down, and then it lurched its hands out followed by the feet, and got up, blasting Kopaka the same time. Sahkanii cried out in shock, then she blasted a whirl of water toward the creature, where merely blocked it aside and started to head over to the Matoran. And Sahkanii stood helpless in fright. Galrin looked around the area quickly trying to get an idea. Then looking down at the dagger she held. Indeed a good time to test it…She thought. As fast as she could, she ran up beside Sahkanii just as the Keepers hands raved with power. She turned, ran up a large pillar about the size of the Keeper. Going far as possible she did a back flip off it and pushed herself, for a moment, everything seemed to go slow, she tilted her head back and put both hands on the dagger, as she finished the flip she landed on the entity’s back. At that second she jabbed it into the neck of her foe. The creature stopped, eyes grown wide, and howled, making another tremor in the earth. The only thing keeping her from falling off was the dagger. She looked down at it to see it swirling with power. Then like lighting, it sparked blasting the creature from the inside. Then with another howl of pain, it slowly disintegrated to the ground and Galrin quickly jumped to the ground. She didn’t notice until then that she suddenly felt extremely weak, she was about to collapse when Rahgan ran up and caught her. The dagger must have taken in some of her own strength to destroy it. And had shown some other power from within her. Rahgan helped her sit down. “You fine my lady?” He asked worried, seeing how she looked faded and tired. She nodded slowly, “I am fine.” She turned then to see Sahkanii walk over to the ashes of the creature, which was black and red and looked similar to sand. “Don’t touch it.” Galrin called to her, she didn’t want to take any chances. Sahkanii nodded silently as she saw Kopaka walking up holding his right arm. She gasped and ran up helping him. “Are you alright?” Kopaka didn’t answer as he looked down at her with a shrug. Though she could tell he was in pain seeing the horribly scraped arm. “I’ll help heal that.” Sahkanii said as she brought him back under the large stone. Pohatu suddenly noticed the rain had stopped and only mist still lay in the air. Though the place never lost its feeling of dark despair. “This is Akaro-Nui, place of sorrow.” Galrin spoke up, “This place has many sad tells, but I will speak of them later.” “Well, would you mind telling me what’s with this dagger?” Rahgan said, almost a little snappish. “I will on the way back to meet the others, I believe we all need rest.” Galrin replied calmy in her smooth voice. “Well I’ll take first-watch.” Lewa volunteered. “Thank you….In a few hours we will be leaving. So I doubt you get much sleep.” Pohatu almost laughed, “That still doesn’t stop him!”

Well Tahu had paid attention to many of when Turaga Vakama would tell tells of his old tactics as a Toa. So one of his ideas had come into mind. “Well.” Began Tahu, “We can’t go threw, over or nor around this situation at all.” “Soo?” Koi asked as he was fiddling with his Daggertail. Tahu wasn’t used to an Impatient Ko Toa but quickly dismissed the matter. “Anyway, I think the best idea is to go under.” For a moment everyone was silent, till Hordar spoke up, “That really might work. But we’re going to have to do it very fast; one mistake would make a terrible disaster.” “Another problem is.” Started Hahma, “Is we really don’t know Iroik and Takanuva’s exact location. They could be anywhere.” “Well I have studied in Maps and have noticed that most dungeons if not all are close to the bottom, some are even slightly under the fortress.” Nantai added. “We could send one person in to scout inside.” Tahu said as he was hoping this to work out. “We’re all underestimating Malkor! Not to long ago, he nearly killed off the Toa Hayo.” Koi reminded, “He could be expecting this attack, and he could capture us all! Who would save Mana-Nui, or better yet stop him from other places then?” “Calm down.” Gali said softly, “We’re all a little on the edge, but we need to work together if we are going to solve this.” “Gali’s right.”Onua agreed, “And also is everyone else, we’re taking a risk, but to make a better chance in saving our brothers, we’re going to have to have unity.”

Malkor found Kaski coming back up from the lower cells, he was muddy, but his smirk never faded. “Well?” Malkor asked as he kept his hands behind his back. “He’s going to be a harder one to beat, not listening, while back he passed out finally.” Kaski replied as he coiled and put away the whip. “I’ll have to have…Another talk with him.” He said, slightly to himself. Then he turned back to Kaski, “Kaski, I need you.” “My bidding my master?” He inquired darkly, secretly excited on finally getting another task. “Those Toa are still alive. Or most of them, grab as many Vahki, Rahkshi and Drohgars. I want you to hunt out everyone, and kill them. That might get the Toa of Lights attention. Over whelming them will do the trick…” He paused and walked up closer to him, “Though capture Galrin for me. She has something of great value…And I bet Takanuva would…Love to see her die in front of his face.” And Malkor darkly smiled with triumph, which had been the first time he had smiled in over many years. Kaski nodded with excitement as his red eyes sparked bowed and paced off. Malkor was about to walk off when more pain sprouted in his right arm, grabbing it, he quickly walked off into his study closing the door. And looked down at in with disgust. There, slowly growing up on his arm was those dark symbols that started on his hand. Malkor grabbed the wall and looked down at the floor as more pain and numbness went all over him. Then by the time the symbols had touched his neck, the pain was unbearable…He then thought of something, so strange an alien for himself, what have I become? Then the voice came back to him, you have become more powerful than ever, let it control you, it will show you the true power and majesty of the shadows…

Chapter XXIII:

Rahgan sat on a rock, arms crossed and tapping his fingers against his arm impatiently. The group had only rested for about an hour, and now they were packing up in a rush, seeing more dark clouds cover the sky. And Sahkanii had been treating Kopaka like if his whole arm got cut off. And it was impossible to see if he was really enjoying it. Now Rahgan angrily stood up and stride over to Galrin. “Okay!” He snapped, “I REALLY like to know what’s going on!” She turned to him, “Please understand that you’re not the only one tired and confused.” “Of course! You seem to be the only one who isn’t that. If I am going to go along with any other of your little quests. I need the information and I need it now.” Rahgan wasn’t the one known for patients, he’d keep quiet until he’d burst. And the others slowly looked at Galrin to Rahgan and back to her. Galrin rubbed the back of her neck slowly. Clearing looking like she was on bursting to. “I’m sorry Rahgan; this is a difficult time for me-” “And me!” Rahgan cried back, “You better stop ignoring us, or you’ll be doing things alone.” “Fine, fine…My fault on this, you must forgive me…But I can’t tell me stories every two minutes…” “Least you could tell us a little on what’s going on!” Rahgan shot back. “Brother stop!” Sahkanii yelled going in front of him, looking up. “What’s gotten into you? If she says she’ll tell you what’s going on, then wait!” Rahgan rubbed his green mask and Sahkanii continued, “Look, we’re all on the verge of an outburst, but you’re not helping yelling at her.” “If everyone is ready to move on, I’ll tell the story on the way back.” Galrin said quietly, “And Rahgan is right, I should have explained things instead of moving on without saying anything.” She picked up her staff that was leaning on a tree. “We must leave. We don’t have much time.” Without saying anything, the group picked up there belongings and started to follow Galrin once again. But up high in the trees camouflaged, the Drohgars watched. There slim yet amazing strong bodies waiting impatiently for the right time to attack. There black bodies covered with white marks and strange blue eyes. Large talons on there front feet and spikes that grew out of there backs, more than anything they wanted to see the Toa fall. The leader snapped its large jaws, as he pulled out an arrow and fit it into his bowstring. “Kill them.”

Takanuva lay in the cell, barley breathing, and barley moving. If he did so move, it pained him to much. For the past hour he had been coughing up blood and now his bruises and cuts felt like they were slowly getting infected. Then he heard foot steps out side, jerking himself up against the wall he waited to see who it is. Slowly the door opened and a tall slim body came in, he quickly remembered her from when Galbor brought him to Malkor. Roodaka came in and looked at Takanuva, almost showing a look of disgust. Then slowly, her stern stare went soft and remorseful. Slowly she walked over to him and bent down. “You’re not in good shape are you?” She asked calmly. Takanuva felt to sick to answer, and he just returned her an angry gaze. “Trust me, I had nothing to do with this…If I figured out about this earlier, it would have been stopped.” “Sure.” Takanuva answered coldly. She slowly put her finger under his chin and lifted his face up so he was looking directly at him. “It’s a pity; I wonder what Makuta is thinking?” She wiped some blood off his face and stood up. “Malkor is planning to kill your friends today; he has a vast army and is ready to fight.” Takanuvas eyes widened with horror as he clenched his fist. “But maybe if you….” “Bring me to him.” Takanuva commanded sternly, as he slowly dragged himself up against the wall. He didn’t care anymore about feeling dishonored or without a mask. He needed to give his friends more time. She turned to him and slightly smiled, “…Good. Come with me.” She turned to a Vahki who was by the door, “Tell your Master that the Toa wishes to speak with him, and bring the Toa mask to me.” The Vahki at first looked confused, but Roodaka gave him a hard and cold stare, which made the Vahki decide not to argue. It quickly walked off.

The council room was like all the others room, dark and cold, and a vision of a room you couldn’t get out of ever. Malkor had got the word from the Vahki and allowed it, now he stood and waited. Kaski stood silently in a corner giving hating looks at Galbor who was beside Makuta. Slowly the door opened and Roodaka walked in with Takanuva behind her and some Vahki following. Takanuva walked slowly, everything seemed oblivious to him except for Malkor, who stood there just looking at him. Malkors cape now entirely covered his right side, which for some reason made Takanuva ponder that as odd. And he seemed different… Takanuva stopped and stared weekly ahead, wishing to hold onto something for balance. “Well? I hope you didn’t come all the way up here to just stare.” Malkor said, his voice seemed heavier and rough. “I…want to make an agreement with you.” Takanuva said, hoping his voice didn’t sound too weak. “What might that be?” Takanuva took a deep breath, this was going to be one of the hardest things to say…But he was doing it for Jaller, the rest of the Matoran and Toa, and for Galrin. “I’ll….Do what you want of me, whatever that is.” Takanuva replied. “IF, you let Iroik go unharmed.” Malkor stood there slightly surprised, “That might work out…” “And.” Takanuva brought his hand up, now breathing harder, “If you bring no harm to the other Toa and Matoran.” Everyone looked at Malkor, wondering what he would say. “That’s a big request.” The dark lord pointed out. “I’ll do anything,” Takanuva repeated. “Let them go, and I’ll stay here for as long as you want me to live.” Malkor nodded slowly, “Yes….Seems right, I let them escape with no more harm done? And you stay here by my bidding?” “Yes.” Takanuva blurted out, he slowly felt more pain go threw him. He considered he was going to fall down any minute. “They won’t win, they’ll loose the island.” Malkor reminded. “Least they will be ok.” Takanuva muttered trying not to cough up more blood, he also thought if they could get back to the refuge and they could escape back to Mata-Nui, but what if Malkor decide to attack there? He was taking a risk….A huge and foolish one. But it was to late now to turn back. “Fine. You have a deal.” Malkor said, making everyone in the room shocked, Makuta looked down at him as if he was completely mad. “I won’t harm them, and you must work for me now.” Takanuva didn’t move at all. He looked at Malkor and then his eyes slowly moved up to Makuta, who returned the glance with an ominous smirk. “A surprise isn’t this?” He asked, “Of all things, you. You to be the one defying your destiny. What will my brother think?” “I haven’t defied it yet.” Takanuva replied quickly.

It was later in the day Malkor had found Kaski readying his weapons. The general looked up and bowed. “General, is your army ready?” Malkor asked standing straight up. “Yes my master….But what of that deal you made with the Toa?” “It won’t change anything.” The dark Toa answered, “I promised I wouldn’t hurt them…I didn’t say anything about my Army or you. And when they are dead, the Toa will either work for me or end up dying at my feet.” “A wise and smart move.” Kaski commented, “But now it’s my part for this. I have many plans ahead….” “Good.” Malkor broke in. “But do not kill Galrin, bring her to me…And unspoiled.” Kaski made some sort of strange growl as he turned his head toward Malkor as if he didn’t agree with that. But he slowly bowed without a word and walked off. Malkor grinned weakly; more of the symbols slowly grew over him. This time it didn’t bother him, he felt victories! Soon he would have complete control over the Island…And more. Thought the legion that went threw his body secretly had its own plans; It wanted to have complete control over him.

Chapter XXIV:

The group had just made it out of the forest; Galrin had earlier finished the story making everyone slightly surprised about this twist, now every Toa and Matoran tiredly looked around the bright and barren area. It had already taken them nearly 5 hours without stop to make it. Sonar grumbled something and went up to Galrin, “Pardon me…But can’t we rest?” “I-” Before she could finish an arrow soared from the air and hit nearly inches beside Sonar. “GAH! Dadjimit!” He cried with shock, “What was that?!” “The Drohgars! Everyone run!” Galrin cried, “We have to make it to the other Toa.” The group quickly obeyed without another word, running as fast as they could run across a wide plain trying to make it to the other woods. Galrin looked around quickly trying to sort it out, the Drohgars hating open area; they were stealthy creatures that liked closed in areas. Such as woods. “We can’t go into the woods.” Galrin called out. “They’ll be waiting for us.” Galrin quickly stopped, making Lewa stop from behind and Pohatu came crashing into the Air Toa. “Owch!” Lewa moaned, “Off me brother!” Pohatu quickly got up and helped Lewa to a standing position. “Galrin? If we can’t go into the woods, how will we hide from them? Sooner or later they’re going to catch up to us.” “I think they have already.” Jaller said slowly as he pointed from behind. The Drohgars came bounding and a strong pace, on all four legs. Paving the grassy area with they’re claws. Eyes wide Sahkanii felt a tinge of panic run threw her. “Where do we go?” “We can’t fight.” Galrin said slowly, looking at the ground, then jerked up and pointed. “RUN!” Where she was pointing was an old abandoned hut made out of a smooth stone house. The group ran, with full speed. Pohatu rushed ahead and opened the heavy door to the house, “Com’on hurry, hurry!” Lewa grabbed Hahli and Jaller and threw them in, looking behind as they were coming ever closer, and soon dark skies came with strong winds. Sonar ran inside followed by Sahkanii and Pohatu. Then they turned to see Matoro running as fast as he could, suddenly he tripped and fell. “Toa Galrin!” Matoro yelped, “Help!” Galrin made a quick stop and turned around, Matoro tried to get up but suddenly saw he had twisted his ankle. Suddenly, the Ko Matoran felt heavy breathing on his neck; slowly he turned around and looked into the deadly eyes of a Drohgar. “Last one looses.” It snapped in a sickish voice. Out of nowhere a fierce bolt hit the enemies head, making him fall back with a horrid screech. Garlin ran over and pick the Matoran up and ran with full speed to the door. Her lean legs moved faster as she nearly reached the door, she jumped and at the same time felt something bite her leg. Grimaced she yelled, “CLOSE THE DOOR!” Then roughly fell into the room as Pohatu rammed the door closed with a thud. Everything then went all black, and dreadfully quiet. “All you alright Matoro?” Galrin asked coolly looking down at Matoro who collapsed blindly in front of her. “Fine….” He said coldly with a shudder. “Those creatures.” “Are deadly. Poisoness, evil, annoying screech and they usually speak in some strange language….The whole deal in one ugly mask.” Rahgan said referring to the Drohgar. Slowly a few lights came on. Jaller had pulled out some light stones. “Everyone else fine?” Jaller questioned looking at the group. And only some nods in return. “Galrin you leg!” Sahkanii gasped, looking down on Galrin’s left leg. She looked down and touched the spot, a jerked back in pain as she slowly sat down again. “Jaller….Give me your light stone.” She whispered. The Captain of the guard nodded and handed it over, where she used it to see the wound. A horrible looking bitten area with blood pouring out and some green ooze covered the area. Rahgan scowled in total disgust, “That bloody thing bit you!” Sahkanii crawled over and was about to touch it when Galrin caught her hand, “Don’t touch it, it will infect you to.” Sahkanii bit her lower lip. “What to do what to do…” “I’ll be fine, please tend to Matoro’s though, he got his ankle twisted.” Galrin said calmly, though her voice was hinted with some throbbing. “Three wounds in merely two days.” Pohatu mumbled as he looked at the closed in door, “I haven’t heard anything…Should I check to go outside?” “No.” Galrin quickly said, “That is how they are. They wait for there prey to come….Sooner or later we will loose air in here and we’ll be forced to get out. And they know it.” “Some mess we have gotten ourselves into Miss Galrin.” Sonar retorted. “How in the danged way are we going to get out of here?” Galrin shook her head, “I don’t know….” She laid her head against the wall and looked upward.

An hour silently passed as the group either rested or were planning. Kopaka had been using his X-ray vision to look around and see if they were there. At first he almost believed them to be gone, but suddenly saw many of them hunched in the trees not far away. Sahkanii rubbed her mask tiredly, “What will we do?” She slowly started to breathe harder, noticing the air was getting thinner. “Wait.” Kopaka said as he slowly stood up and walked over to the door. “Huh?” Kopaka didn’t answer, he pressed his mask against the door frame and listened, and then he turned around. “Matoro, come here.” Matoro shook his head and got up and went beside Kopaka. “Yes Toa?” “Do you hear that…?” Matoro look confused and pressed himself against the wall and listened very silently, “Yes…A few of them are talking….” “In what?” Kopaka replied silently looking down at the Matoran. “In….” Matoro looked shocked as he pressed harder to hear better. Then he jerked up and looked at Kopaka, “Let me outside, I can help.” Galrin who had fallen asleep now awoke and silently turned to Matoro, hearing the last few words. “What?” Just then a huge explosion went as an opening came threw the house. Suddenly the Drohgar leader entered followed by Kaski. “Surprise?” Kaski mocked darkly.

Malkor walked striding up to one of the higher and abandoned rooms, he wanted to be alone. Something was bothering him, as if a strange pang of guilt had come over him about Takanuva. This was the oddest thoughts for Malkor in the past year, he never thought like this! The legion stiffened at the thoughts that Malkor was thinking, it wasn’t ready for Malkor to change his mind…..They had made a promise. Malkor was bound to this curse….Forever. “Its time”…. The legion hissed. “For what?” Malkor stopped with confusion. “For you to pay back what I gave you”….It hissed once more. A shiver ran down Malkors spine, it had been years like he felt like this. “What do I owe you?” He asked hesitant. “YOU’RE LIFE!” It screeched darkly, then at once Malkor fell down to the ground, withering with pain.

Chapter XXV:

Tahu hid behind a cluster of trees with the others. He had ordered Koi to go scout around the area and he returned reporting an army of Vahki and scores of other creatures leaving the fortress and Koi claimed that one of them said they were in search to find and kill the Toa. Tahu knew it be useless and wait for the others, so he deiced to go find them before the enemy found them. So far it seemed like it was too late. There they watched as Vahki kicked the Toa and Matoran out of a small hut and slowly the army crowded around them. “We have to do something! There going to kill them if we don’t do something.” Hahma whispered to Tahu, eyes now looking drastically for Sahkanii. “I’m thinking, I’m thinking!” Tahu snapped mutely back. Trying to figure it out. “We could get a distraction. Send half of the army off somewhere as we pull out our brothers and sisters?” Onua offered and Tahu looked at him for a long moment. “Good idea, but who would take the risk?” Very slowly everyone turned to Koi who stood there blankly. “What!?”

Galrin looked around weakly as she felt the pain from her leg increase. One of the Drohgars noticed to wound and spat, “Stupid Toa, you’ll drop dead before we can even get a chance to kill you.” Another Drohgar turned to Matoro and clicked something, thinking he wouldn’t have a clue what he said. “I’m not scared if that’s what you meant.” Matoro retorted, taking a step back from the Drohgar who almost had a hungry expression. “I’d like a bite out a’ that one.” The Drohgar crackled, “It’s smarter than it looks.” “Do not eat them.” Kaski grumpily cracked, in an almost disgusted tone. “What about there legs? They don’t need those.” It replied turning its head in a ghastly manner toward Matoro. “Krak! Stop it now or you’ll be spare parts before the day is over.” The leader yelled with a few sudden snaps with his jaw. Krak nodded slowly with annoyance, and backed up. “Now!” Kaski began as he scurried over to the group. “I have firm orders from Lord Malkor that you all should be killed. This doesn’t mind me at all.” He began grinning. “Being that prideful is useless,” Kopaka icily warned. Kaski growled, “Keep your tongue where it belongs Toa, I am general Kaski.” “And I’m a meanugly dark hunter…” Lewa mumbled. In that second, Kaski uncoiled his electric whip and swung it under the Toa of Airs feet, making him fall on his back. “That’s it.” Kaski snapped, “Vahki, Rahkshi….Kill them.” Nearly over a hundred staffs, claws and swords pointed at them. Just then, a light came out of nowhere and a fierce Daggertail came in, and jerked Kaskis whip out of his hand with a shriek of metal. “Don’t play with such toys!” Koi snapped, grabbing the whip and freezing it completely, then with a snap, the whip crumbled away. “Why hello there.” Kaski growled angrily, and turned to the Drohgar leader, “Get him and fry, poison, squash or whatever you want….JUST KILLS HIM!” With that, almost half the army progressed toward Koi. Then, Kaski activated his mask of teleportation and moved out of sight. Kaski, now fuming looked at the army, “Get….500 of your creatures, and rip the idiot from head to toe!”

With now 500 or so of the armed forces off on the rahi chase, Tahu took that moment. With that he made a signal and charge over to Kaski and them. Jumping he swung his magna swords at a near by Vahki clearing its head off and sending a blast of fire at a Rahkshi, frying it. “What the?” Kaski barked now seeing a group of Toa and some Matoran in the clearing of the woods. Taking that moment the other Toa into custody grabbed there weapons from the startled Vahki and joined the fight, taking down anything that their weapons touched. Doing a smooth back flip, Sahkanii ran up a Rahkshi and tore up its kraata with out so barley glancing. As Kopaka froze anything that got near the Matoran. Lewa lastly recovered from the fall (but got a nasty scratch) and started making wind blasts at the Enemy, so that they ended flying over the place. Gali shot some water that went straight toward a Drohgar, and almost there it froze into a sharp and long piece of ice, cutting threw it. The Toa of water turned to see Kopaka put his weapon down. “Thank you brother!” She called out as she blocked an attack from a Rahkshi with her Axe. Kaski cried in annoyance, “My plan was going so good.” “Pity my dear.” A voice said from behind, he jerked around to see Galrins golden mask as she pointed her curved spear at him. “Your mine!” Kaski growled as he went over and attacked heavily on Galrin. Where she made a jerky block and pulled it around kicking the General, but just as fast he grabbed her leg and threw her, and Galrin forcible hit into a rock. Silently groaning, she picked up her weapon again and shot a blast light at Kaski, where he dodged it and swiped under Galrins feet. She jumped into the air and kicked the Vahki in the head, and then did a steady back flip. As she landed her left leg buckled from the pressure and she collapsed. “And you thought you could defeat me?” Kaski spat, “I was expecting more from you.” Grimaced Galrin looked darkly at him, “It isn’t over yet.” Slowly her eyes became a pure white and symbols flooded onto her mask. The General warily backed away at the outcome. Within a second her mask sent out a quick and fast bolt, hitting Kaski in the face, it slowly dissolved all over him. And within a moment, electricity and light shot out. Kaski went into a fit with an agonizing cry. Then, it stopped. And the charred Vahki collapsed dead in the grass. The soldiers turned in shock as there General lay fried on the ground. They looked around fearful, a Rahkshi screeched and with quick movements they retreated. Lewa was about to go after them when Tahu caught him “Don’t go after them. We need to help the others. Lewa nodded, “Right brother…..Where’s Koi?” Tahu smacked his head. “Argh! Someone, get Koi back here before that enemy fries him.” “No need!” Koi cried out, as he walked over to Tahu and Lewa, “A certain Kanoree dragon didn’t like there company.” “A what?” Tahu asked looking at him surprised. “Ah so that’s where you took them,” Hordar laughed, “I should have known….The Konoree dragon lives off in some cliffs not far from here. He’s usually very grumpy….” “I thinkknow what happenoccured.” Lewa laughed. Gali stifled a giggle and turn to see Galrin slowly getting up and using her spear for support. “Sister, are you well?” “Fine…” She whispered, “Just a small injury that can be healed-” abruptly she paused in a sudden trance, she heard a muffled cry of pain as someone called out her name….Then another voice came. She sensed what had happened to Malkor, shock and pain went threw her as she and he shared a link. She collapsed to her knees, she heard another cry from Malkor, and then there was nothing…. “Oh no, no.” She cried. The legion was smart, it had taken a chance and cut off the bond between them. Lewa and Pohatu rushed over to her. “Something’s wrong!” “I know that, but what’s wrong is the question.” Tahu snapped as he looked down at Galrin. “He’s gone….he’s gone…” She said tearfully. “Who?” Tahu asked kneeling beside her. Before she could say anything else. The Toa fainted and was caught by Lewa. “I’m not sure if I want to find out.” Onua said slowly.

A Vahki scurried down the halls in search for its master. Roodaka had commanded it to get Malkor for her. It had finally found a character up in one of the rooms. Going in it started in its mechanical voice, “Master, Roodaka-” Before he could finish a dark hand came out and grabbed the creature by the neck. It shrieked for a brief moment before two fierce red eyes came into view. Clutching the neck harder, the Vahki slowly disintegrated and fell to the floor in ashes. Malkors now red eyes kicked at it and strode off.

Roodaka still haven’t heard from the messenger or heard from Malkor rolled her eyes with irritation. Messengers are so very useless…She thought as she walked over to the thrown room where she might guess he would be. When entering she gasped in shock and staggered back (which is rare for Roodaka to do) looking who sat in the seat. At first it looked like a black ghost with almost black fog coming around the stranger, but slowly she could tell it was full flesh and blood. Red and golden marks glowed threateningly around the body. And the eyes….They stared hauntingly, but not at her. Did it even notice she was there? Then it hit her, it was Malkor. She could slightly see the old expression in the eyes, but it looked rather dead. “I’m wondering what you got yourself into this time.” She asked causally, though with a hint of uncertainty. “It doesn’t concern you.” The voice was almost worst than what he looked like. She could hint Malkors original voice hidden in it, but was covered by the deep and unforgettable tone that for a moment still rang in her ears. “Then maybe it will concern the master of shadows?” She obliged.

Takanuva lay in the dungeon tiredly, just waiting to see what would happen. If he was going to die right here from hunger and all the severe wounds or Malkor chopping his head off. Then he over heard something that changed everything. “….Kaski isn’t here commander, left with an army to kill of some remaining Toa on the Island.” A Vahki said from outside the room. Shock and disbelief took him. Malkor lied? Clenching his fist in angry and trying to hold back some tears he jerked up and hit on the door, “guards!”

Chapter XXVI:

The door opened for a moment and the Vahki was about to reply when Takanuva jumped out and kicked the Vahki to the wall and sent a blast of light at it with his Avohkii (he was aloud to wear it after the agreement with Malkor). At the same time, the Toa of light snatched one of its weapons out of its hand, and blasted its power at the two others. Before they could react, the Vahki fell down dead. Looking around quickly Takanuva ran threw the hall and found the infirmary. Killing of one Vahki guard as quickly and silently as possible, he ran in and after a moment of searching found his staff. And was about to leave when he saw a large fiery double handed sword. That must be Iroiks. He suddenly thought. walking over, he grabbed it with one hand to discover how heavy it was. But ignoring it, he tiredly looked around, now suddenly feeling dizzy with his sudden actions. I have to hurry or they’re going to catch me. He thought as he ran down the halls looking for Iroiks dungeon room. Something suddenly didn’t feel right but he shook his head over it and found the room. To his surprise there were no guards, but he didn’t think it over. He kicked the door opened and he found Iroik sitting on the ground half-asleep. “Iroik!” He called, walking in and putting his and Iroiks weapon against the wall. “We have to get out of here now! Malkors going to kill us all if we don’t do something quick.” “So I have heard.” He answered as he slowly stood up and looked out the door, “…Even you have fallen for my, ruse...Takua,” Iriok's Body became infected and soon enough a shadow tornado had formed over it, until the ugly shape of The Makuta came from it, “Surprised? The Toa that defeated me fooled? You are loosing your touch, Takua…” Takanuva stepped back horrified, yet was not shocked; he had a feeling that the foul being would do something like this. “Where’s Iroik!?” Takanuva cried. “Didn’t Malkor tell you, he let him free, but it seems you figured out what happened, well least I must congratulate on knowing that out.” He jerked himself around to grab his staff, but was tripped by Makuta and grabbed by the neck. “You think I let you go that fast?” He questioned as his hands wrapped around the Toa’s neck. Takanuva grabbed Makuta’s hands and tried forcibly to get more air. But Makuta seemed not to budge. “Ha, you’re weaker than I expected….What’s happened lately? Getting to bright as it is?” Makuta gripped his fingers into Takanuvas throat and he started to gag slightly. He felt dizzy and sick. Then with a jerk, Makuta hit him against the wall, still holding his neck. “I’ve been waiting for this day you pitiful excuse for a Toa….Its a wonder how your clumsy self became this Toa of Light…” “…It’s my destiny…” He croaked. “Ha! Destiny, those false words again? A blind Turaga could do better. Aren’t you supposed to be protecting the Matoran and helping the Toa? Look at you, beaten up and captured, dumbly fooled and now in my grasp. I could break your neck any moment….” “….You disgusting.” Takanuva hoarsely said as he felt everything around him go blurry. “Don’t try asking for mercy, I won’t give you any.” “Don’t worry…I wasn’t going to ask for some….Anyway.” Makuta grinned darkly and looked into the half closed eyes of the Toa. “Good.” Then, everything slowly went black for Takanuva from lack of air. Makuta dropped him on the floor, and pulled out his staff and pointed at him. Takanuva slowly looked with a gasp and took that last effort and jumped over and grabbed his staff and Iroiks. Before he could do anything, Makuta blasted him on the back with some dark energy, making him go threw the wall, and to the ground bellow. Takanuva looked weakly down that he guessed this to be his end, but seeing a vast ocean with towering sharp rocks. The outside was dark and stormy, large waves hit against the cliff. Trying one more time, Takanuva pushed himself against the wall and clutched Iroiks sword, jabbing it in the cliff and trying to stop himself from hitting a rock. Suddenly, he got hit by a rock that stood out from the cliff. Takanuva not able to hold on anymore, let go and fell into the dark waters.

Galrin jerked her head up with a gasp. Was it a dream or did that happen? Using her power, she reached out and searched for Takanuva. A sudden jerk of surprise took her; she felt, nothing….nothing at all. “No, no…” She whispered. Now getting up from the mat she had lay on and crawled out of the tent. Slow panic went around her as she looked for Tahu. She then found him with Sahkanii and Galrin who were tending to Iroik. “Mata-Nui…How did he get here?” She gasped. Gali looked up, “Sister you should be resting!” “I’m fine.” She said now looking upon Iroik who was wincing at Sahkanii that was holding a wet rag. “Hold still you baby!” The water Toa snapped angrily. “Maybe if you didn’t jab it at me I wouldn’t…..I’m not a baby!” He retorted irritated. Galrin turned to Tahu. “How did you find him?” “Wandering north from here, we were on our way back with him when some Rahkshi attacked, luckily we escaped.” Sahkanii put her hand over a large scar that covered his chest. “No…I am serious…You poor baby! Look what they did to you.” Galrin looked down at the injured Toa, “Iroik, is Takanuva okay?” Iroik bit his lower lip, “I don’t know…They said he made a deal with Malkor so that we wouldn’t be harmed.” “Well that deal ended quickly.” Tahu broke in. “I haven’t heard from him since they took him away from the cell that we were in….” With that everyone became quiet. Gali looked at the ground as her right hand covered her mouth in dread. “Let me meditate over this…” She whispered and hurried off.

Takanuva felt himself hit the water painfully, going down in the cold water, his head hit a rock, pushing him against the cliff. The Toa took that chance and grabbed out for the ledge with one hand from being swept away from the current. I can’t do this anymore….Takanuva told himself as pain exploded everywhere, numbness soon took him and everything became blurry once again from lack of air. Swiftly he heard a voice, "Takanuva…It’s not time for you to pass into legends yet…." "I can’t do it!" He told the voice, "I be better off dead…" He slowly felt dazed. "You can’t! Your destiny is not completed, and what about the others? They need you...I need you." Takanuva weekly shook his head, "I can’t….I can’t…" He slowly let his hands slide and let go of the rock. But suddenly, a jolt of power went threw him and he angrily looked up, "Galrin..." grabbing the rock again he slowly started to push him to the bay that hung under the Ancient Fortress. After minutes of pain, Takanuva climbed onto the sand and collapsed.

Roodaka walked down the halls quickly looking for her Master, then turning up to see his scared self with a dark smile and holding his staff. “My Lord-” “Takanuva has been dealt with Roodaka, I believe now its time to-” “Makuta!” She interrupted, “You need to come see this.” “See what?” A dark voice asked from behind. Roodaka and Makuta turned to see the strange face of Malkor. “You’ve changed.” Commented Makuta, “I like you’re Mask.” Malkor gave no response to it, suddenly remembering, that his original Mask had broken and a new one grown over it from the legion. “No time for style comments.” Roodaka snapped. “Right.” Makuta answered going up to him, “What’s going on then?” “None of your concern.” He replied in an almost mechanical way. “Would you like to deal with me?” Makuta inclinded as he pointed his staff down at him. To there surprise, Malkor laughed, a shrilling and unsettling voice. “You hurt me with that stick? A Piraka would be harder to fight than a low-down ex spirit.” Angered Makuta sent a blast of dark energy at him. Which Malkor pulled out his hand and it swirled around him till the energy went inside him. “Fear trying to make fear itself to cower in the darkness?” Malkor taunted, “Foolish.”

Chapter XXVII:

Galrin looked up from out of her meditation. She knew if they didn’t get Takanuva then, he would die. Getting up quickly she walked back to Tahu who was talking to Onua. “…If we don’t get to Takanuva soon.” Onua began but turned to see Galrins sole look. “Takanuva has escaped….But if we don’t get there quick enough…” She didn’t bother to finish her sentence.

After telling the other Toa and Matoran what had happened, Tahu, Galrin, Onua and Rahgan were chosen to go. For Rahgan knew that area greatly and Tahu insisted that he wanted to see his Brother fine. “We’ll get there. Where is he?” Asked Rahgan. “In meditation I saw him south of the fortress. If we rush there and save him as fast as possible, we might be able to get away without a fight.” Tahu sighed with arms crossed. “Easier said than done.” With that, the group rushed off, to hopefully save there friend.

Roodaka looked at Makuta, “My lord please, We don’t have time for this.” “Leave.” Makuta commanded heavily. The titan shocked looked at him keenly, “Master…” “Now!” He bellowed. Reluctant she slowly edged out and left the room. And was already angered by what had happened. He wasn’t supposed to kill him and…..She turned to see Galbor grumpily fixing his weapon. Grinning weakly she walked over to him and pulled out a small faded stone. “Galbor dear.” She said in a soothing tone. “Where’s Makuta?” He asked ignoring her question. “Playing with Malkor…..Now please, you must do something for me.” He looked at her. “This has anything to do with Dark Hunters getting killed?” She shook her head, “No, no….Takanuva…Escaped didn’t you hear? Anyway, he’s probably out on the beaches, crawling his sorry self away…I want you to use this on him.” She shoved the stone into the dark hunter’s hands. He gave a confused expression at Roodaka, “What do I do with it?” “Take his energy out of him. Once you find him, you’ll know what to do. When you have killed and done what I asked, give it to me…And I shall return it to Makuta.” Galbor growled. “That’s an order from him!” With a shake of his head he stomped off to do his bidding. With that she laughed silently, “Oops. Did I say him? I meant me…”

Tahu, Rahgan, Onua and Galrin rushed down out of the forest and headed toward the ocean beside the fortress, already it had been 7 hours without rest. All minds were persistent in finding Takanuva. Galrin landed her foot on the soft sand and looked around hoping to see him, for luck nothing. They now stopping to catch there breath. “He should be around…Check out the place.” Tahu said. “But be careful I must remind you…” “Brothers I see him!” Rahgan called out who had already walked a few feet away and was pointing at something beside a few large rocks. With a jerk, the three Toa ran over there with Rahgan to see indeed there lay Takanuva. “Mata-Nui…” Galrin breathed in, trying to control her voice from failing. Tahu and Galrin dropped down beside him and she touched his pulse. Not saying a word for the longest moment. “He’s still breathing….” She finally whispered. Tahu sighed in relief. But looking all over the Toa with a pang of guilt and disgust. “….But dying.” She said as she lowered her hand to the ground, “If we don’t do anything, he will surely pass.” “Gali should have come with us if I knew his wounds were this bad.” Tahu commented as he saw some dark energy still in his back. “Even though she is mastered in the arts of healing. I fear that his wounds far surpass any of the greatest healing strengths.” Galrin replied. “Then what do we do?” Tahu cried, “I won’t see him die like this.” Galrin took a deep breath. She knew the best way to do this….Was to give off her energy to save him. “This.” She replied. Suddenly Galrin jerked her hand over the Toa of lights face and her hand began to glow. Great light went around the Toa and into the wounds, healing them quickly. Within a moment, the light faded and Takanuva lay there still unconscious. But his larger wounds had been almost fully healed. Galrin looked at Tahu as her colors began to fade away and she slowly began to slide down. With a rush, Rahgan grabbed her and slowly looked at the others, “What…what the heck did she do?” “Answers later I guess… We need to leave now.” Onua snapped. Agreeing, Tahu picked up Galrin and Onua and Rahgan got Takanuva. Quickly yet carefully, the group hurried away.

Hafu sat down and tiredly and fiddled with a decent rectangular stone, to his surprise, the little piece of stone actually and slowly became a beautiful little figurine. “Well all be! It’s the greatest little piece I have ever seen!” Hafu whistled to himself. “Another masterpiece.” Nuparu and Kongu, who had just heard his long rant, looked over his shoulder. “What is it?” Nuparu questioned. “Stupiddumb question.” Kongu laughed, “It’s him, can’t you tell by the largebig feet?” “Hey!” Snapped Hafu, “I don’t have big feet!” In a flash Nuparu snatched the carving out of his hands, “Maybe I should hold it, this is going to ruin your brain.” Hafu jerked up angrily and pointed his chisel at Nuparu threateningly, “You better give it to me or…” “Kongu run!” Nuparu cried with a laugh, he threw it over to Kongu and the Le and Onu-Matoran started to run for there life as Hafu came from behind. Matoro looked up from watching Hahli write there previous adventures on a piece of paper and sighed, “There at it again.” Hahli looked up from her paper, “At least there are no snowballs.” Macku ran over beside the two and giggled, “See you guys, I think I’ll join there parade.” “What for? There’s no use in it!” Matoro called back as she started to catch up to Nuparu and Kongu. “For fun! Stop being so dull, that’s Jallers job.” Jaller heard that and glared at Macku, “Hey!” Hahli laughed, “Ahh don’t take it personally…Jaller?” She looked up to see him kick at a small rock in an irritating manner. “Jaller?” The Ga-Matoran asked again. He looked up, “Sorry….Just thinking about Tak….Takanuva. I wished I could have gone.” “But you couldn’t so don’t worry about it….I wanted to go just as much as you did. But the lighter the weight, the faster they can save him.” Hahli went up and hugged him, “He’ll be fine.”

For the first few minutes they ran around throwing the figurine back and forth to each other with an angry Po-Matoran running from behind. Just then Kongu made a jerking stop at a small cliff, “Lookwatch out!” But luckily, they didn’t hear. With a jerk, Macku stopped from behind Kongu, and Nuparu behind Macku. Then with a jolt, Hafu bumped into the group, making them fall. Kongu let go of the carving and Hafu caught it in the process of falling. “Ha! I got it-EOOOWW!” For a moment, the group bumped and toppled down to the bottom of the floor beside a small creek. Falling down with a thud and everyone knotted over, they paused in silence catching there breath. Kongu was the first to speak, “That was funmuch! Let’s do it again!” Hafu groaned, “Oy I think I have broken something.” He pulled his carving from under him to discover it broken in half. “Ahh.” He cried in a high voice. “Well good job!” Nuparu grunted, and crawled out from the knotted group. “What next?” Macku clicked as she got up, “Tsk, tsk Nuparu. Don’t say that again. Or we might be looking at….AHHH!” There stood the Toa and Takanuva. Nuparu took a sigh of relief, “You scared us! My you found him, thank goodness!” He paused startled seeing Galrin carried by Tahu. “What happened?” “Yes but they both need medical help now!” Rahgan said. “Go get the other Toa to help us.” The Matoran nodded and rushed off to go tell what had happened.

But deep in the woods crouched Galbor who watched steadly as they rushed off to there camp. Seeing Galrin a jolt of anger took him and he crushed the stone in his hands with mere sparks. “Forget it.” He told himself. “Those two heads would make a fine trophy…”

Chapter XXVIII:

Makuta pointed his staff at Malkor; no movement came from the two for a few moments, only giving hateful glares at each other. But to his surprise, his enemy put away his sword. “Do not tell me that you finally agreed that it would be a waste to throw your life away at me?” Makuta retorted, still hoping to get a chance and cut Malkors head off. “No.” He answered simply, “If I killed you, the Toa would have a better chance in awakening Mata-Nui, and then he would be able to kill me I admit.” “A selfish act…” Pondered Makuta, “But understandable….But you still haven’t told me what’s happened to you Malkor.” The infected Toa grinned sickly, “Who’s Malkor?” Makuta was, for the first time stunned by what he had said and replied in his own sickly voice “Then, who are you?” He chuckled to himself, “It’s not the case of who I am, its what I am which will shock you...” “Then What are you?” he replied, slower than he would normally speak, “I am One who you created, during your experiments to defeat a certain Toa group, before you created your Physical Representative, The Morzbukazah, I am as you created me. The Legion, The Grand Abomination, as you said, I was too powerful for your, greedy grasp, so you tried to destroy me, unluckily for you, I survived!” Makuta's heartlight flashed a moment, he had this terrible feeling, he had never felt before, he knew this feeling and loathed it, he had used it many times and succeeded, but for him, it was h-ell…. the feeling he was getting was fear, fear that his creation might get the better of him, he said quietly "What do you want?" his voice did not have the fear enduring aura, but on of the speaker being scared himself, he could not hide it, and he knew it. “What I want, my creator is the power that you hold, the command of all so many, that you have misused along your petty existence, with that power, I could control those that you merely have attempted to get, the ownership of the Matoran and far more than anyone could imagine! Fledge your allegiance to me, my master, and I way spare your life, kneel before me now!”

Galrin stood outside looking up into the night sky. The stars where out, and very bright as she thought about all that had happened during the day. Takanuva was probably still resting, though she wouldn’t blame him. She looked down slightly sickened as she remembered seeing him, a torn up and bloody Toa that came to mind. Galrin silently cursed over that and the thoughts went back the Malkor. How could you do this? But it was a useless question, she new at heart that it wasn’t him….And now she had guessed he was already gone, the legion no doubt taken full control, but yet there was still hope. However, her peace was soon lost when some one walked up behind her, “Takanuva?” “Hey Galrin.” The Toa of light said walking up to her, though he wanted to run over and hug her, thanking Mata-Nui that nothing had happened…. He paused suddenly at the thought, Galrin looked smaller, weaker, and tired, was it because of the power that she gave him or was it just in her saddened expression? He made the quick guess of both. “You should be resting.” Galrin pointed out as she walked beside him and saw some of the bruises and scars that still remained on his body. “Gali aloud me to get up, I needed some time to get out and walk.” His legs slightly buckled underneath him but he soon regained balanced. And he laughed, “Or try to anyway.” He paused and looked back at the stars, “There are a lot of them out tonight. I mean the stars and so bright." He looked down and to her, "Thats not why I'm here though. Thank you Galrin with out you I would have...” "No need for thanks, I was happy to help." Galrin looked away, her mask turning a little red. Takanuva grinned, so it was her turn to blush. “But really Galrin, I would have been dead….You didn’t have to give up some of your powers to save me…” “I’m fine.” She replied, “Sooner or later I will loose them completely and fade into shadow….I would rather give them up than to see someone innocently die.” She sighed and hugged herself, looking down at the ground now. Takanuva put on a worried expression and moved to her side, he went to take her hand only to have someone walk up behind them. “What are you doing?” The two looked at the cheery Green Toa, Lewa, who had come at one of the worst times, he was about to say something when Hahma appeared in front of him, making the air Toa jump backwards “Why did you do that toa-brother?” Hahma looked at the couple and winked, he turned to the Toa and said "Why don't we step over here, you can tell me more about your koro..". Lewa looked at Galrin and Takanuva. His eyes opened more as he realized what was going on and said " Er..... I think I will tell you about my sing-song village over here..." Takanuva and Galrin looked at each other, then both began to laugh as Galrin suggested "Maybe we should this another time, AWAY from Toa who come at inappropriate times" She looked at Lewa as he left, he had the look of sorryness, but in his cheery way.

Galbor’s anger had passed its limits. He stood in the shadows waiting for the moment to strike down her. The one who had killed his brother, revenge was needed. No Toa would live and get away from killing the great Dark Hunters. Seeing Takanuva and Galrin alone, he grinned darkly as he pulled out his two swords. Stiff as a statue he slowly and stealthy prepared for the right time to attack. 1….2….3! With that thought he jerked out and threw his sword directly at Galrin.

Chapter XXIX:

Lewa and Hahma walked away until they were not to be seen by the two, Lewa then jerked his head around a grinned, grabbed Hahma by the hand and jumped into some bushes. “Lewa! What are you doing?” Hahma whispered to him. “We can’t missfail out on this!” Lewa replied watching Takanuva and Galrin with a sly grin. Hahma rolled his eyes, “Do you have anything better to do than to watch them fall in love?”

The sword swung toward them with great speed, almost like a large arrow, making a humming sound, though it never made it to its target. A sudden ice bolt hit the sword freezing it in mid air, it stopped and fell down to the earth. A broke to pieces by the impact. Kopaka came up as he lowered his shield. “We have company.” He answered coldly. Galrin jerked her head around to see the shattered sword and grimaced. “I forgot about Galbor.” Takanuva sighed as he rubbed his side and turned to see Hahma and Lewa run back up. “Ok what now?” Hahma asked looking around into the darkening woods and the expression. “Galbors back.” Takanuva replied, “Probably wanting revenge about his brother.” “Didn’t know Dark Hunters careworry so much…” Before Lewa could finish a roar went threw the forest and he went flying into a tree. Galbor pulled out his other sword and snarled at Galrin, “YOUR MINE!” rage filled his eyes as he charged at her. Galrin pulled out her staff and blocked the attack. Though nearly falling down by the impact. Kopaka quickly ran over to aid Galrin as Hahma went to help Lewa.

“Takanuva catch!” Takanuva jerked his head around to see, Pohatu run up at full speed holding his staff. He threw it and the Toa caught it quickly, turning around and shot some light at the angered Dark Hunter. Galbors eyes were full of rage, hatred, something pushing him beyond himself, as if this wasn’t him….As if there was something deeper than just wanting revenge. The hunter moved out of the way, and hit Takanuva on the side. The Toa of light cried with pain as he had hit his wound, and clusmly fell back. Though he had forgotten something, Pohatu came running behind him kicking him in the back with full speed. Galbor heard a crack as the foot hit him a he flew and hit a tree. The large noise scaring Rahi from there rest. The Dark Hunter couldn’t move for a moment, his back throbbed and he felt blood poor down his face. He slowly rose helping his sword for support. Though, with no surprise, all the Toa were no accounted for and pointing weapons at him, ready to strike him down. “You’re a fool to think you could have made it in here and leave alive!” Tahu snapped at him, his swords vibrating in heat. “I hate Toa.” Galbor said darkly, “You ALWAYS have to mess up things, you think you do good but no, you make things worse. Your kind doesn’t deserve to live.” “You cannot win Galbor.” Galrin said pointing at him. “Drop your weapons and will not be harmed.” “Forget it!” He yelled and kicked at 3 Toa, sending them to the ground. With that split second, Galbor jerked around and ran. But, it did not work out. He heard a whoosh sound, and felt something go threw him. He made a jerking stop. And slowly looked down, shocked at what happened. There, two arrows were threw him, bloody seeping out. Wide eyed and shocked, he cried out with pain and fell to the ground. Then all was silent. Rahgan sighed as he put away his bow. “He’s dead.” Tahu was about to go over there when Galrin stopped him. “No, don’t. Leave it be.” She paused and looked away. “Anyway, we have tarried here far too long. We have to settle something now.”

Malkor sat in the darkness, breathing slowly as he felt what had happened. And grinned, “More fools to kill….A war is coming.”

Chapter XXX:

The group now slowly progressed to the ancient fortress, and all was silent. Too silent. Dark clouds rolled over the sky, with their own battle raging furily. The group moved in a brisk, but silent pace. The Matoran were allowed to go, although some argued that it was too much a risk. But what choice would they have? Jaller refused to stay on the sidelines and just watch helplessly. Hiding behind many large rocks, the group looked out to the fortress. It was only less than half a mile away. Even at a distant, it still felt large and ominous. Iroik shook his head frowning. “They’re numbers are less to fight, but everything still seems hopeless.” “Not yet,” Galrin said. “You focus your attacks on the army, while I get Malkor…” Silence followed after that as thunder rumbled heavily overhead. Galrin frowned, “It is time. We will divide and attack. We must finish this today.”

Dividing out, the assembly went around and prepared themselves. Takanuva had gone with Galrin, watching her with uncertainty. He couldn’t help feeling that he was worried, not just for her, but for everyone. This could be the last time he could talk to her. “Galrin…” Takanuva said slowly as he walked up to her. She looked up, have a tired expression, though willing to listen. “Yes?” Takanuva had to tell her, and yet he felt uncomfortable…But he knew he needed to. “I…I, umm… well…” Before he could finish. Lewa ran up to him, looking faintly worried, “Talkchat later! Its time!” Everyone went slowly and stealthily, drawing closer to the large fortress. As they got closer, they could tell that they are many Vahki, Rahkshi and Drohgars. Lightning flashed overhead, and the dark cloudy sky became of a faintred colour. The wind was stiffly cold and the scent of death was in the air. Galrin looked through the army, but she could not see or find Malkor. But I know your there…. Galrin drew closer in silence, awaiting the signal to attack. The lady hid behind a large boulder, and the closest enemy was merely a few feet away. She turned to see a small spark emerging from Tahu, and she knew. With that she jumped into the air, followed by Takanuva, Lewa, and Hahma. Within a second, Galrin had brought out her staff, the long blade on top shining clearly, but not for long. She spun it right threw a Vahki with extreme force, yet her style was like the wind. Blood splattered her mask, but she disregarded it. She turned around swiftly and blocked an attack by a Drohgar. She jumped beside a flat rock which looked like wall. She jumped and pushed herself upward, giving her a higher jump. She went over the Drohgar and hit her spear in its head; blood leered out as she jerked it out and swung at another enemy. Takanuva still was bruised and sore, but that didn’t stop him. His fury against the creatures kept him moving and focused. His staff blocked an attack, and he kicked the creature off of him, throwing it off balance and giving him that very second to kill. With a cry, he sent some light at it, and the creature blinded and shocked by the impact, fell dead. A Drohgar captain had sounded the alarm. More and more Vahki trailed out of the fortress.

Jaller and the rest of the Matoran stood in a tight group, staying near the outside of the battle, but fighting just like any Toa would. Jaller was surprised to see how well of a fighter Nomaii was. The Ga-Matoran gave out powerful attacks with her muscular body, while her Le-Matoran friend, Cada stood by her side giving quick and deathly attacks like an assassin. Jaller looked and saw that Hahli had come beside him; she looked tired, but he ignored the fact. She had just gotten a disk launcher and fired at a Vahki, and then fired at another. “Hahli…” Jaller began slowly, as he was out of breath. “If we ever get out of this alive….” He leaned over and kissed her dirty cheek. “I really like you!” With that he ran off. Hahli stood there shocked, but snapped out of it when she heard Macku. “Hahli, snap out of it! Vahki are behind you!”

Galrin edged closer to the fortress. Everything now seemed to freeze and go mute. She knew he was there. Hiding, waiting to kill them. Then behind her, she jerked around to block a ferocious blow. But the attack was too hard it hit her arm and she fell back. On the ground she had lost her breath. Grabbing her staff tighter, she looked up as a large shadow went over here. Two deadly dull eyes looked at her, and a torn up cape flowed around like a cloud. “Galrin…” The cold and disturbing voice began, “I have been waiting.” He then with a jerk put his foot over Galrin’s neck, and began to push. It shoved her into the hard ground. Galrin cried out as the sharp area cut threw her throat and blood flowed freely around the ground. Though she heard something, and a blast of fire hit Malkor. Making him remove his foot from Galrin and turn around. His large appearance and cloak that rapped around him. It made everything go darker. His army was around him, but they were slowly trying to back away and run from him. They fear more of their leader than anything else alive.

Galrin spit up some blood as she slowly got up. Turning to see Iroik point his large sword at Malkor. “I have been waiting a long time for this, traitor!” He snarled. With that, he charged with a loud battle cry. “Iroik DON’T!” Toa Galrin cried out. But she was not fast enough. Iroik charged and swung his heavy sword at Malkor. The dark entity didn’t move. But at the last second, he jerked out two large swords, and used one to block the attack while the other went straight through the Toa’s body. Iroik eyes widened and froze, his hands trembling, he let go of the sword. It fell to the ground with a clank. The other Toa stopped fighting, as did the enemy. They all turned to see. Malkor still had the sword in Iroik, his dark eyes staring straight into the Toa of fires. Then with a jerk. He pulled it out quickly. Blood sprayed and much of it hit Malkor. His other sword swiped against the Toas right leg, pain exploding all over the Toa. Then he grabbed Iroik by the neck, and threw him into a wall. “No!” Sahkanii screamed and tried to get over there, only to be blocked by a Rahkshi. Malkor snapped his fingers and the enemy began to attack harder, making it impossible for any Toa to help Iroik or get to Malkor and Galrin. “You monster!” She cried to him. “The others are right….Malkii died long ago. I don’t know you….I was a fool to believe I could save him.” He stood there for a moment, looking at her, and then walked toward her, two large swords in his hands. Both covered in blood. A Rahkshi got between him by accident, and to its dismay. Malkor merciless killed it. As if it was just a little obstacle. When right by Galrin, his sword was blocked by a golden staff. He turned to see Takanuva. “Don’t, Takanuva.” Galrin told him stoutly, “I won’t allow you to fall into this affair.” “I will not let you harm her.” Takanuva replied in a strong tone and looked up at the large and fearsome entity. “So be it.” Malkor replied slowly. Then with sharp reflexes, he kicked Galrin away and punched Takanuva with the end of his sword. Knocking him back, Malkor grabbed him and put a sword to his neck. Galrin got up and frowned intensely, “Let him go! He has no part in this.” “I will slice off his head if you do not put down your weapon, my lady.” He said in an evil tone. “And you know I will do it.” Galrin looked at him and then to the frozen Takanuva. His eyes showed that he didn’t want her to do it. The lady slowly put down her staff and looked at him. “Let him go.” Malkor shook his head, “You were always to kind, my love.” Then he grabbed Takanuva by the head, and dark energy swirled around his arm and all over the Toa of light. Takanuva cried out as the thousands of dark surges moved all over him. With a cry Galrin shot out a great flash of electrical shocks at Malkor. Hitting him dead on, he fell back, letting go of Takanuva. The young Toa fell back on the ground and was knocked out. With a jump, Galrin landed on top of Malkor and tried to bring her spear into him. But he kicked her over, making Galrin fall beside a small cliff. She turned around just in time to block the attack by Malkor. But by the impact, she fell back over the overhang. Galrin fell down, hitting large rocks and sharp places from the cliff. She landed with a thud, and lay there for a moment, trying to gain her breath. Then slowly and forcibly, she tried to get up again. Two feet landed beside her. Dust flew everywhere as the strange glowing symbols aroused over him more clearly and stronger. “How does it feel to be beaten like I did those two years ago?” He whispered. “How does it feel to be to be beaten and merciless left?” “You’re not who you think you are Malki-or…You legion is so twisted in your mind it can’t even tell who it is any more.” “Enough words.” The dark Toa snapped, with that he swung his sword towards Galrin, only to have it hit the ground. Galrin jumped, and tried to climb over him, but with a quick movement, Malkor grabbed her leg and swung Galrin against a pillar. She looked up to him, “Malkii, you can fight this, I know you can!” Malkor grasped his head; it throbbed with pain as he kept saying "No...No...NO!" he lunged at Galrin only for her to move out of the way as he slashed the pillar into two. “Don’t do this brother. You were a powerful and strong Toa physical and mentally. Don’t let this destroy you!” “It already has.” The cold voice answered, it looked into her golden eyes. “I will give you one last opportunity...Sister...Join us......” Galrin stared at her Brother with fear and determination, and shouted “NO! I will not let you end like this!” He turned and sneered, saying "Very well...Sister...You do not know what you are up against. I am so powerful, even beyond those of The Makuta. This time you will bleed yourself to death here. No one can help you now.” With that, he lunged at her with his sword held tightly as he swung. A thousand deathly screams seem to come from the legion itself. Galrin's eyes were closed, she waited for the blade to strike, but it didn't. She held the Dagger of Souls in her hand, within that last second when he was over her. She embedded it into her Brother through the chest. The dagger glowed and a force swirled around it. The legion cried out a horrid sound, every curse in its voice, its noise hurting Galrin’s ears greatly. Then it all went into the dagger. And with a flash, the legion disappeared. Forever. Galrin was silent. And slowly looked up at her brother. The darkness had left him. The curse was broken. Although she couldn’t tell if he was dead or alive. She shed a tear, he was bleeding over her; she slowly and tiredly removed him over her and onto the ground. And whispered “I’m sorry...”

Tahu was pinned to a wall by a group of Vahki, and suddenly each of them started twitching, more and more, then as one of them began to spark, it started a chain reaction, as most all of the Vahki began collapsing and disintegrating. Then the Drohgar's began to look round as they found themselves slightly outnumbered now with the Fallen Vahki, the Lead Drohgar then howled as the rest began to flee, then a Roar of Celebration started as Tahu found himself cheering as well...But it didn’t last for long.

Chapter XXXI:

It was now raining; Rahkshi, Drohgars, and Vahki lay dead and in ruined heaps. And the Matoran and Toa slowly regrouped, thankful that no one was seriously injured saved for some bruises and cuts. Except for Iroik. Sahkanii with a cry ran over to where the motionless Toa of fire lay. Her feet splattered against the muddy ground as she made a quick stop and dropped beside him. She grabbed his hand and bent down, tears covering her smooth light green eyes. “Iroik.” She whispered. The rest of the Matoran and Toa slowly drew near, faces silent. Iroik opened his eyes, his hand now squeezing hard on Sahkanii’s hand. “I’m sorry….That was stupid…” “It was brave.” Sahkanii whispered through her sore voice, sniffing a few times. “Stay still please….I need to heal-” “Don’t.” He replied, pushing her hand down from his bloodstained chest. “No one can help me now. I am beyond the powers of your-or any-healing.” “I won’t let you die!” She cried, tearful. “You have to let me go…I will always be with you in heart and watching over in the halls of the Great Beings.” He paused for a moment as his breathing got weaker, and had to cough for a moment. “If Galrin ever saves Malkii…Make sure to tell him, I forgive him.” Sahkanii shook her head, “Please don’t…Please don’t. I love you.” “No you don’t….There is someone else waiting for you….” He coughed some more, his heartlight now was flickering. “Goodbye. May the Great Spirit watch over you.” With that, he closed his eyes and the heartlight finally faded. Hahma quickly rushed over and grabbed Sahkanii from fainting. He held on to her, as she started to cry. “I’ll watch her, go find Galrin.” Hahma said to the rest of the Toa still holding the distressed female Toa. The Po Toa looked sadly at there dead leader, and closed his own eyes, forcing them not to tear up. Takanuva was the first to rush off, even though his headache was pounding and the pain rushing in on what happened to Iroik; he forced himself to ignore it and kept running through the grey like field. Then down a small gorge he saw something, and called Lewa. “Brother! I think I see her, help me down.” The Le Toa nodded, and quickly activated his mask, grabbing Takanuva and carefully landing at the ruined area. Takanuva ran quickly over, at first shocked to see another maskless Toa lying beside her. He was unsure if ‘it’ was alive. But then feeling a pang of pity on seeing how destroyed the body was. Galrin lay against the pillar, seemingly asleep, as she was slouched against it, and holding a dagger. Everything made sense now, Galrin must have freed the curse, but was he dead or alive? Takanuva knelt beside her, and touched her shoulder. She jolted slightly feeling the cold hand touch her, but looked up with relief to see her friend. “I saved him…” She smiled tiredly. Takanuva wasn’t so comfortable about that. “Is he alive?” “Barely, we need to heal him as fast as possible.” Takanuva nodded and turned to Lewa, “Get the others and grab-Malko…Malkii. I will help Galrin. Takanuva quickly picked her weak form up and looked around for a safer way back up the cliff, he found some old stairs which he had seemed to miss a moment ago, but started to head over and climb up. By the time he reached the top, Galrin looked up toward him. “Is…Iroik alright?” Takanuva was silent for a moment, and then replied. “No….He’s dead.” Galrin’s almost lighter mood fell it seemed, grieved by the lost. “I was so into saving my brother…I wasn’t focused on the others. My mistake will cost me later.” “Everything happened for a reason…Maybe it was our destiny for this to happen.” Takanuva said, adjusting his arms around her. “I hope.” She said weakly. “Oh I hope.”

Air, fresh air came blowing in from the sea, its refreshing smell lightening the mood of all the weary Toa and Matoran. Even the whole island looked refreshed from the storm they encountered. It had been a few weeks since the deadly battle for Mana-Nua, but finally, light and hope was seen from far off. A few off the Toa left at great speed to the smaller island where the Mana-Nua Matoran had stayed a few days ago, and now much of the entire inhabitants were there, along with Turaga Tohkan. Much of the plans to rebuild the land were already in shape. A great festival was also to be held for the brave Toa and Matoran that led there way to save the great island from darkness. Though first, a funeral was to be held for Toa Iroik. It was a very saddening thing to see, but wonderful to know that he died peacefully and not into despair. A large fire was lit, nearly 10 feet high, the strong and powerful red fire shown out, for the resemblance of the deceased Iroik. Bright through the dark blue atmosphere, Sahkanii stood there staring at the fire. And oddly close to it for her water nature. But she seemed not to care. Tears going down her face, she looked down at the ground, where she watched the smooth clear droplets hit the dusty ground. “Sahkanii?” She slowly turned around, whipping the tears quickly from her face and trying to hold back the emotion. “Yes?” Hahma came into the light, his quiet and almost shy personality reveled on his face, worried if this was a good time to talk to her. He went up and looked at the large fire for a moment, trying to think of a way to start a conversation. “He was a great leader, mmh?” She turned away, “He was more than that to me…” “You really did love him?” Sahkanii expression was mixed, as she tried to fight with the overall question. “He told me before he died…That we were not meant to be together…Maybe it was true.” She looked back at Hahma, tears once again on her face. A rush of pity went through the brown Toa, suddenly feeling bad. If he really did love Sahkanii, he would worry for her needs first, instead of his. He got closer to her and grabbed her hand carefully, looking into her deep and dazed eyes. “Everything will be fine, you’ll see him again…But for now, you’ll have to make the best of it.” Suddenly, Sahkanii opened her mouth to say something, then shut it again, looking at him with surprise. “Hahma…You…” Before she could finish her sentence, Hahma bent down and kissed her on the cheek. Then with quick moments, used his mask power and turned into the sand like particles, disappearing in the night. “….You love me?” She finished the earlier sentence, still looking out in the night. Suddenly understanding what Iroik meant.

It was many weeks before they Toa Nuva actually was ready to leave. The remainder of the time, they helped the Matoran back, and helped rebuild. But they knew they could not stay there for much longer. Which, in the next day or so, they restocked the ship and prepared to leave back to there own home of Mata-Nui. Takanuva, who was tying up a rope, looked silently into the now setting sun, the sky was beautiful, purple, and orange, some blue…All at once in the sky with little faded clouds. He sighed, now feeling torn in two, he knew he was to help at Mata-Nui, but…. He turned and saw a few Matoran of Mana-Nui, the Turaga, the Toa Hayo and….Galrin. The group went over to say there goodbyes. Unsure if they would meet again. While much of the Toa Nuva said goodbye to there comrades, the Matoran sadly gave hugs and waves to there new found friends, and of course speaking to the Turaga. Takanuva looked at Galrin, who was speaking to the Turaga, then to Takanuva. He had not seen her in awhile, or at the celebration. Guessing she was with her brother. Takanuva went up and smiled faintly, “So, goodbyes then?” She nodded her head, the old expression of her serious and proper attitude reviled again. “Yes, it seems quite so. I will wish you a save passage back to your land.” Takanuva nodded and then was silent for a moment then asked, “How is Malkii?” She sighed. “Fine I guess…Still wounded terribly, and he has only woken up a few times. It will take awhile for his old self to return along with his strength.” “Well, I wish him well.” Takanuva replied, he was about to say something else, then he heard Tahu yell out. “Taka! Com’on, we need to set sail before it gets dark.” “Alright, alright!” He called back, almost making a joke out from the sound of his voice. Then nodded his head at her, “May Mata Nui watch protect you.” With that, ran off and jumped on the ship. Galrin slowly walked over, till she could go no further, as she was at the edge of the port. And slowly watched the ship set sail with the strong surge of wind coming in. Within a few minutes, it was just a tiny dot, sailing off as if right into the orange sun. She nodded her head downward and closed her eyes, “Farewell…”
