Fallanon Shemanciar was the younger son of a Moerisian Lord and an unlikely Sharnean Lady (Kin), both deceased. His elder brother and father were both killed in the Generational War; his mother by disease at about the same time. Being second born, he was largely free to pursue his own interests as a boy and young adult. His prerogative was acting. He acted with a local troupe for several years, but the death of his father and brother placed Fallanon in an unexpected position of power, and he was forced to relinquish his dream, marry, and govern his father's lands. Though he resented the position, he attempted to maintain his father's good name, but soon found the task more complex than he believed. When the treaties started in Torrent, he gladly fled the backstabbing politics of Moeris for the "honest" negotiations.

Alongside Ravenok Doreylin, Fallanon has been framed for the murder of Defense Councillor Aln. He invited Ravenok to hide at his home to Moeris, but their stay was cut short when his wife was murdered. They are currently searching for the true culprit with a small group of friends and allies, one of which is Zurick, Fallanon's shadow.

Fallanon seems to have bouts of dimentia. He has several strange hobbies and relations, but tends to play himself down. He believes in honesty, modesty, and ignorance, because, "if you have the first two, the third one doesn't hurt."
