Secret History of Kuithne

From Kuithne

  • The Architect was born on Kuithne some 600.000 years ago in a medieval world. A unique genius and inventor, he soon took over large parts of the world with his inventions and then left to settle the stars. He created a stellar empire, discovered a way of immortality and other extraordinary sciences. His children, although not as abnormally potent, likewise display extraordinary mental capacity and aid in developing the stellar empire rapidly. Within 1.000 years, a ruler race, the genque, evolves from this bloodline.
  • The Architect fashions the Star of Zina, a potent techno-mystical device, and uses it to open the barriers to other dimensions, introducing magic to this dimension called essence. The genque quickly show special affinity for manipulating and controlling the essence, combining interstellar technology with the power of essence to become unto godly lords over the stellar empire.
  • With the dimensional barriers open, the dimension is eventually discovered by mystical creatures from other dimensions who realise that this dimension stand as a unique crosspoint through the dimensions and as such a keypoint to conquiering the entire multiverse. They enter to wreak havoc on the empire. The Architect uses the Star of Zina to limit access to this dimension. With the doors closed, the genque subdue the mystical races and re-assert their mastery of the stars.
  • The Architect disappears literally overnight and with him, the Star of Zina. The empire is torn apart in civil war as the genque war among themselves, with the servitor races of the empire paying the price. The fabric of this reality grows unstable by overuse of magic, enormous essence flowstorms wipe out entire solar systems and mystical races are once again drawn into this dimension by some of the genque to try and turn the tide of war in their favour but most find themselves along with their enemies overrun by the extra-planar forces.
  • Jinae, the 4th granddaughter of the firstborn of the Architect, recovers the Star of Zina, but too late to save the empire. Surveying the destruction of the once grand empire, she identifies the genque and their petty power struggles as the cause of this genocide and judges their life forfeit if they do not comply with her ultimatum of self-exile. Herself one of the most powerful of the genque, empowered by the star of Zina and a circle of allies, she traverses the remains of the empire to deliver her verdict to the genque, vanquishing those that do nit comply.
  • Kuithne's solar system is discovered to rest as the eye of a hurricane in the centre of the largest flowstorm flowing through the galaxy, making interstellar travel to and from the system virtually impossible, but likewise insulating it from instability that pervades most of the dimension. The genque under the leadership of Jinae settle empty dimensions adjacent to the spatial point of Kiuthne as the abode of their exile and are forbidden to leave these. Riam, eventually known as the City of Gods, is created as the centrepoint of this dimensional nexus watching over Kuithne.

By virtue of her personal power and the Star of Zina, which not only protects this dimension from extraplanar incursions, but also limits the genque's access to it, Jinae takes Riam as her abode and proclaims herself head of the genque.

Kuithne has also been ravaged by the interstellar war, but from afar the genque begin the task of regenerating the planet and nurturing the surviving creatures in their image, this time as distant godheads as opposed to fleshly rulers.

Thus begins the first world cycle of Kuithne.
