They were first met by the protagonists in the Wyld areas to the Southwest of Sand Covers Jade. In order to get Bright Ocean her tattoos the group went off to defeat three Dragon Blooded (2 corrupted fire and 1 corrupted water, Pale Torrent of the Flowing Birthright) who were possessed by agents of Malpheas, specifically Ki'rix the Hive; their defeat allowed the No Moon, Avenger's Eye, to heal from the spell cast upon him.

The pack has been pursuing Ki'rix the Hive for years as they seek to heal the destruction in its wake and stop the spread of its malign influence where they can.
