For the concluding chapter of the Wet Slewtopia trilogy, Mamareeko embraced the narrative tale of the animals of Wet Slewtopia like never before, whilst still maintaing the eclectic ISM nature of the previous records.
The record tells the story of the final 24 hours of the animals war with the evil, evil, evil, evil birds. Beginning with a rallying call from Mamareeko, the record visits all of the creatures introduced in the previous records, before the final showdown with the birds and the eventual rebirth of the Mystical Flange Badger. His return finishes off the birds, and the whole forest has a party.
Upon its release the record crashed Schlock's website due to excessive demand, and he also ran out of CDR's because of people demanding it. The ISM community was not quite as convinced of this new accessible direction.
Of all the Mamareeko records, Eastern Bloc was the most carefully constructed, each track referencing previous (or future) Mamareeko in some manner, and the decision to include himself as a main character in the album's narrative would become a Bench trademark.
