-- SYNOPSIS: The Faculty of Science has established the Margaret Clayton - Women in Research Postdoctoral Fellowship to attract female early career researchers with outstanding potential to undertake research in areas of identified faculty research strength or emerging research potential, and to redress the dearth of women academics in the faculty. The fellowship is tenable only in the Faculty of Science at Monash University and it is expected that most of the time will be spent in the relevant school or centre.

-- OBJECTIVES: The sponsor awards a fellowship to attract female early career researchers with outstanding potential to undertake research in areas of identified faculty research strength or emerging research potential.

-- ELIGIBILITY: Applicants must: be female and undertaking research or have recently undertaken research in disciplines of relevance to the faculty; be no more than five years from the date of award of a PhD as of 4 July 2008; and have demonstrated potential to achieve research outcomes at an international level.

-- FUNDING: The successful applicant will be appointed within the Academic salary Level A/B range. Superannuation will be provided plus, if necessary, a relocation allowance equivalent to the cheapest economy class airfare for travel to and from Melbourne. Research support will also be available from the relevant school or centre of up to $15,000 per annum.
