-- SYNOPSIS: The sponsor provides support for postdoctoral researchers of high standing at any stage in their career to share and disseminate new and original ideas and/or techniques, initiate and undertake collaborative research and facilitate interaction and training of University staff and students. Fellowships are for a duration of two to twelve weeks.

-- DEADLINE NOTE: Applicants are required to contact the Head of the proposed host Department or School no later than 20 April 2007. Due to the competitiveness of the scheme most Departments/Schools will have only a very small number of applicants short-listed per round. Full applications must be received by 25 May 2007.

-- OBJECTIVES: The Fellowship will allow outstanding researchers from overseas to spend a period of up to twelve weeks conducting collaborative research at the University of Sydney. Visiting fellows are expected to make a substantial contribution to the academic life of the University. Successful applicants are expected to be based full-time at the University for the duration of the Fellowship.

-- ELIGIBILITY: Eligible applicants are postdoctoral researchers of high standing at any stage in their career. Applicants seeking to visit the University from an overseas organisation may apply. Applicants and their University of Sydney host researcher must have an outstanding track record relative to opportunity.

-- FUNDING: Fellows will be provided with a living allowance of up to $1,500 per week and a return economy class airfare up to $2,500. No award including travel will exceed $20,500. No additional funding is provided with the Fellowship.
