Personal

Zeth set out to create Comm for two purposes: to establish a "home base" of sorts for the Freikorps, and as a way of getting all his friends in one place. He openly admits the former, not so much the ladder, as he considers it his more selfish ulterior motive. To a large degree though, he has succeeded in both, as the Freikorps did most of their growing and RPing on the Comm, and the large majority of whom he considers to be his best friends and associates are active members on the site.

Zeth himself is a tall blonde-haired, blue-eyed fellow living in central Kentucky, born in late 1991. He isn't much into sports, but prefers his games and internet. He's described himself of being a major nerd, but actually rather on the popular side in school--sometimes to his dismay.

Freikorps Involvement

Zeth is fiercely attached to the Freikorps organization, some describing him as obsessed; he prefers "passionate." Having joined in the Freikorps before they truly amounted to anything, Zeth strode to move through the ranks of the fictional organization and managed to do so, rising from Colonel to Field Marshal in under a year. His first promotion (Brigadier-General) was a gift from his friend and organizational leader Cataphrak. The second (Major-General) came with his creation of the current badge system and what would become the Freikorps base of operation within the Communishyfen forums. His promotion to Colonel-General was mostly skipped through, and by the time of the Stahlhelm Exercise, he was Field Marshal and second in command of the organization--fictional and actual.

Pre-Comm

Before he founded the Communishyfen Forums, Zeth was active on a site called FESS, an internet forum originally based on the Fire Emblem videogame franchise. He most often refers to these as his "noob days," as he openly admits he had not idea what he was doing and was generally rather obnoxious. He also credits the site with his "internet coming of age," however, and it was at FESS that he met Cataphrak and encountered the Role Play group known as the Freikorps. The Freikorps at that time were really a small, hodge-podge group of forumers who heckled others in a thread called the Nightmare Restaurant, with no particular aim or goals in particular. Nevertheless, Zeth became attached to the group once he was "let in," and genuinely wished to see it expand as an RP group.

Formation of the Communishyfen and Invisionplus

When he first joined and was an active part of the FESS community, FESS was in its fourth iteration, but soon saw the need to move and reorganize again due to technical difficulties. During the belated crossover, Zeth decided to create his own forums modeled primarily after FESS, with some alterations to fit what he believed was a more fair system of management from his own point of view and in part from what he observed at another FESSer-operated forum called Mercury Ice. Thus, by November 29, 2007, he had setup his own forums via Invisionplus hosting system, of which he was the Root Administrator indefinitely. He began recruiting/inviting people from school and members from FESS as initial founding members in an obvious effort to get the site off to some sort of start instead of waiting to see who would show up. Initially the "Comm" grew quickly, but a good number of the members, much to Zeth's displeasure, found foruming something other than what they really enjoyed, and would never return to their accounts after the first few days, leaving the site with a somewhat inflated member count but little activity. In addition to this, the staff was experiencing some debilitating issues in regards to cooperation and ability. To settle the administrative growing-pains, Zeth first let go his administrative second, who agreed that there would be no hard feelings. Unfortunately, some did not see this action favorable, and Zeth got the first taste of handling negative PR, which he handled with varied degrees of success.

In an effort to halt spammy account creation with no intent to stick with the forum, Zeth flat out stopped inviting anybody he came in contact with, and told the community to do likewise, from there on requesting only selected individuals to join, some of whom, including Cataphrak, did. The site began to grow with a slow steadiness, and the new staff emerged, composed of Zeth himself and Nostalgic Euphoria as administrators and Cataphrak and Avalon as moderators. The status quo reigned for a brief while until after a few weeks the site became plagued by spambots, and Zeth, introduced to Zetaboards by Nostalgic Euphoria, decided to move the forums rather than to wait on what he considered an inept and poor choice of host to prevent the flood of bots--which they never did.

Zetaboards and the First Year

The first year of the Comm was completed at the current Zetaboards site, during which it gained the majority of its members, acquired its domain name, and the current skins and staff. Nostalgic Euphoria stepped down as an administrator, and since then Cataphrak and Avalon have moved up to take administrator positions, with members Inuit Goddess and Anne Brunner taking positions as global moderators. Zeth has remained as Root Administrator, and dictates the majority of actions taken by the staff, though he prefers giving an assignment and letting staffers work their own magic on them. As for his own assignments, several, though not all of the contests held on the Comm were hosted by either him or Cataphrak, and all of the skins currently used are either designed by or heavily modified from default by him. He has also begun the RP Course, which has been staggering along longer than he had intended.
