Be under a thwomp but not get smashed

From the game Mario Kart 64 for the Nintendo 64.

Drive up to a thwomp carefully. Now, if you go at him slowly, you will be able to easily find a position that makes it look like the thwomp is smashing you, but he's really just going through you and you're not getting injured. You don't even get flattened... you just stand there.
