Clansmen

From Glengarryceltic

Pipe Major John T. MacKenzie, Clara MacLeod, Thwyla MacDonald, Darryl McLeod, John Job, Sylvester MacDonald, Jack Smith and Lyle MacMillan

The Clansmen of Glengarry started playing in 1973 for concerts and dances in Glengarry and surrounding areas. It wasn't long until those from larger centers were looking for a smart dance band, who could supply music for the old and young Irish and Scottish people to dance to. Calls came from Ottawa, Montreal and many other districts. In 1975 they went on a holiday to Eastern Canada -the holiday became work which they enjoyed. The trip started in Lorretville, Quebec, then to Prince Edward Island, on to the Fiddlers Contest in Glendale, Cape Breton Island and the Blue Bird Arthritis Society Festival in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. Requests from these same places and many more persuaded this versatile group to produce this record, and it is our hope that they will continue to make more for your listening enjoyment.
