Item Construction

From Genco

A simple box is constructed from six square sides, five of which are connected by nails or other adhesive, while the sixth is connected to one edge of another with a couple of hinges.

Exact cuts must be made for quality construction. Adhesive is applied to two surfaces and when stuck together and allowed to dry, will remain affixed iuntil enough force is applied to the aconnection.

The connection is formed and all areas of adhesive become connected, the type of adhesive is stored. This number is the force required to break the bond. The connected cells are accounted for and this times the adhesion of the materal equals its adhesive strength. When nails are used, the "connection zone" extends from one nail to the other, as if it had been glued. Bot the glues and nails' positions on the materal are retained and used for later reference.

Construction, or connecting objects must be done one step at a time. Where ever two pieces are connected, the "connection" or "conn" stores both item's id's and the adhesion calculated.

When two connections intersect or overlap each other, a secondary connection is formed so that the adhesive power is combined at the corners of the box, and any force applied to one conn is partially transfered to the other. Enough force applied to one conn will break the bond of the others.

Each surface (sides, nails, hinges, latch) are individual components that are governed by their own, physical laws and modes of behavior. Each component is comprised of "sides" or "surfaces" that are connected and each retains its own data regarding iteslf. The connecting points and edges between them store data regarding the compenents it connects.

When interacting with an object, each surface of each component can be selected, manipulated, imbued, etc. So an object may be simple in design and concept, but be be highly complex and interwoven with powerful magic.
