Description and history
The Shakrihl are a peaceful and tolerant people found mostly in Taria archipelago, Naoria coastline and Alba islands. At their top expansion - in ancient times - they settled northern Zunia (down to middle Oskanna) and all Tarian archipelago, including the present Aredighuan. Terrible plagues brought by Massians exterminated the Zunian Shakrihls, and Aphilian colonialism eroded the control of Taria.
The Shakrihl are friendly to outsiders, but not overly so, and in recent decades have begun to view outsiders more as exploiters than valued friends. They are a generally docile, proud people, centered around the family. At the same time we must consider that the Shakrihl consciousness is a matter of recent years. Traditionally, we can instead inviduate two main cultural areas: the Tarian Shakrihl and the Naorian Shakrihl, with the addition of Alba.
For the Shakrihl in Naoria the Nation in the modern sense has, until recently, never meant more than one's immediate family and community. Their society is structured around semi-permanent villages who, particularly in the frigid inland of Naoria, move with the animal herds on which they hunt.
Shakrihl are generally more concerned with an individual's worth than with the worth of an entire people. Because of this, they tend to not judge others based on past experiences with others of the same group. However, as mentioned above, this is slowly beginning to change.
