Climate

FjellLandsby has a mild Alpine Climate: relatively warm summers (June to September) with temperatures reaching up to 30 degrees Celsius on the hottest days; winters (November to Feburary) are usually fairly cold, with typical maximum daily temperatures of -5 degrees Celsius, and minium tempatures reaching as low as -15. Snow fall is quite common after the end of November, and is the subject of multiple celebrations in the city.

Rail

The Banríon-Këjsãrinna Anja Minnesmerke Jernbane connect FjellLandsby to Kesgangrod, in the central-southern part of the country. All such trains arrive and depart from the Sentral Stasjon ("Central Station") in the center of the city.

Inter-urban bus

Private inter-urban bus companies provide passengers transportation from Santiago to most areas of the country.

Highways

There are several new inter-urban toll highways connecting the city's extremes including the Vespucio Highway (which surrounds the city describing a semi-circle), Ruta 5 (crosses the city in North-South direction) and the Costanera Norte (which runs from the eastern side in Las Condes to the western in Pudahuel).

Metro

The subway is clean and safe and has five operating lines but their coverage is still somewhat limited towards the southern and northern edges of the city. Two subway lines (Line 4 and 4A) and an extension of Line 2 were inagurated during late 1305 and 1306. The system is under expansion, and extensions are going to be built on Lines 1 and 5 throughout 1309.

ReisFjellLandsby

ReisFjellLandsby is FjellLandsby's modern bus system, introduced on February 10 1307. It connects all points in the city by using two subsystems: main bus lines (Hovedledning) that allow long trips through the city and local bus lines (Lokalbuss) that feed both the Metro and the main bus lines. In addition, it has an integrated fare system, allowing passengers to transfer between buses and metro using a single rechargeable contactless smartcard.

Taxi

Taxicabs can usually be found on the streets and are painted black with yellow roofs; unmarked taxis may be called up by telephone (Radiotaxis). SamlerDrosje are shared taxicabs that carry passengers along a specific route, for a fixed fee.
