Appearance
Kat is roughly average height for her age, standing at 5'4", and maybe a little bit on the stocky side. Her often messy red hair doesn't quite reach her shoulders. There isn't anything about her that really stands out. She looks her age (though she's been mistaken for older), and favors casual, comfortable clothes the majority of the time, though she's been spotted in something cute from time to time.

Personality
Kat's behavior depends largely on who she is around. Around new people, she will usually act very polite and reserved. She comes out of her shell the more she gets to know someone. She has a tendency to come across as naive and oblivious at times, and this isn't helped by her highly curious nature and tendency to ask questions about everything. She's actually very intelligent though, just a little uneducated about the world outside of Pokémon. Kat actually happens to be a little more comfortable around boys than girls her age, perhaps because she was a bit of a daddy's girl, and her admiration towards her older brother.
Kat is a bit of a tomboy with a taste for adventures, and isn't at all above spending a few days in the wilderness to get some time to herself. She's a bit of a night owl and sometimes an insomniac. Kat's friendly towards most people, but she doesn't like people who will intentionally hurt other people or Pokémon. She actually doesn't have that many friends and is pretty lonely sometimes but enjoys the company of her Pokémon. She can get a little down on herself from time to time, but she has a stubborn streak a mile wide and isn't the type to just give up. She is more than willing to make sacrifices for her Pokémon or people she is close to.
History
Kat grew up in Goldenrod City with her parents and older brother, admiring her father and older brother immensely. Nothing particularly traumatic occurred during her early life; she often begged to go with her father, a researcher who did a lot of fieldwork, on his expeditions, but was frequently told she wasn't old enough. She grew even more insistent after her brother left home, when she was 6. Eventually she was allowed to go on a few minor trips, and was fascinated with the Pokémon she learned about. After a -lot- of coaxing and doing everything she could to prove she was competent, her father took her with him to Snowpoint, at the age of 10, just after she received her license.
Her father had been that way before and didn't expect anything to go wrong, but a particularly savage blizzard surprised and trapped them on the way back. A devastated Kat ended up returning home alone. For the next few years she didn't really have the heart to set out on her own Pokémon journey, returning to her schooling instead, and mostly treating the two Pokémon she owned as house pets. Eventually, the therapeutic nature of the little critters inspired her to make another attempt at training, at the age of 12. In the less than a year she has been traveling, she has stayed away from gyms thus far, mostly training her Pokémon and slowly adding to her team. She has spent time on all continents but Hoenn, and captured each of her Pokémon through her own resourcefulness to date (aside from her Cyndaquil).

- Breed: Cyndaquil (M)
- How long owned: 3 years
- Other: Actually her brother's starter, passed on to her once she earned her license. He probably could have evolved already, but Kat has never put pressure on him to, and he seems quite happy the way he is for now. Pretty skittish, like most Cyndaquil, especially around people other than his trainer and family.
Mara
- Breed: Sneasel (F)
- How long owned: 3 years
- Other: Captured during the expedition to Snowpoint, with the advice of her father and help of her Cyndaquil. Kat always keeps Mara with her. Like most Sneasels, she was pretty aggressive and would pick fights with anyone for any reason at first, but has mellowed out a bit towards her trainer, and will frequently show affection towards Kat when no one is around to see.

- Other: Caught in Kanto. Very timid, and on the weak side too, but Kat has confidence that he will be an important part of her team.

- How long owned: 2 months
- Other: Caught on her most recent travels to Sinnoh. She hasn't quite accepted Kat in an 'alpha female' role, and tends to be a little disobedient towards her.
