  • 31st - Addington (fields by Kent Gate Way): Hundreds of corvids on fields just before dusk. Gathering for Halloween? (JB)
  • 30th - Sanderstead (Briton Hill Road): Sparrowhawk mobbed by a Crow, Siskin over, Nuthatch, now up to 7 Chafinches under feeders in garden, several Reddwings around. (JB)
  • 28th - Sanderstead to Croydon: 60+ Redwings (Emfield Way, Croham Hurst and Old Whits), noticeable number of Blackbirds.(JB)
  • 28th - Farthing Downs: Redwing and fieldfare streaming over, in excess of 500, 4 lesser redpoll over, 1 siskin, 1 male blackcap, 1 fem sparrowhawk, 3 skylark, at least 10 long tailed tit, 2 bullfinch, 2 meadow pipit, flock of goldfinch still present (40 strong), 3 green woodpecker, nuthatch, plus usuals.   • 8th - Croham Hurst (07:35 to 08:35): Tawny Owl kewicking at 08:10, some migration (mainly heading southeast) including 2 Siskins, 10 Redwings, 2 Swallows (flying with 2 of the Redwings)and a steady trickle of Chaffinches. 4 'alba' wagtails east. 2 Chiffchaffs. Also 1 Mistle Thrush, 1 Song Thrush and 59 Feral Pigeons southeast (more likely local movements). (JB)
  • 8th - Farthing Downs: 1 sparrowhawk, 1 kestrel, 2 siskins over, 11 redwings, 7 long tailed tits, 1 pied wagtail over, 1 yellowhammer, 4 lesser redpolls over, 2 meadow pipits, 7 ring necked parakeets, 1 greenpecker, 3 nuthatch, 3 treecreepers, 2 rooks over,(my first at this site in almost 23 years), 5 linnets, 25 goldfinches, 1 heron over, 3 mistle thrushes over, a great deal of robin song (at least 15 heard).   • 7th - Chapel Bank: A Raven circling high just northwest of Chapel Bank a few minutes before noon, cronking occasionally. Then headed off to south in purposeful direct flight with frequent calls. (John Parish)
