You trek through the trees towards the heart of the smoke, brushing off insects as you go. Before very long you see the colour of stone, and as you near it you realise it is a large building made of rock fashioned into bricks. Although you've never strayed far from your cottage save to travel on the high road, you feel you should've been aware of such a large structure.
You reach the building, which occupies a large clearing. It is about fifteen metres wide and some six metres high. There is a row of circular glassless windows at the very top, not more than a foot in diameter each. You can hear mechanical sounds from within, but you cannot fathom what their source is.
