You climb over the gate with no problems, then you continue to the cable car station.
On the way there you feed a squirrel and read a sign teaching you all about butterflies and their effects.
Once you arrive at the cable car station you don't see Chris anywhere, but you do see his bag. Then his phone starts buzzing...
