Tyler remembers you were supposed to be in class with Alex, F

From Create Your Own Story

Suddenly, Tyler's expression shifted as a thought seemed to strike her. "Oh no, I completely forgot! you're supposed to be in class with Alex today," she fretted, her brow furrowing with concern. "I can't believe you let yourselfget so distracted. I hope Mr. Johnson won't be too hard on them. You can't just leave him on his own like that!"

"Hey, don't worry about it," you tried to reassure her. "I'm sure Alex can handle one class without us, he'sa smart guy and it's only a few hours." Despite your words, you couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt for causing Tyler to worry so much about her brother. In truth, you never really understood why Tyler was so insitant on spending time with Alex. Alex was a socialite if you ever met one, he had friends on every street corner and could talk his way out of trouble like he was a born con artist.

Tyler sighed and bit her lip, clearly still worried. "You're probably right, but I still can't help feeling terrible about leaving them alone with Mr. Johnson. He can be such a stickler for attendance."

"Look, we can head back to campus if it'll make you feel better," you offered, although the idea of parting from Tyler so soon made your heart ache.

"No, it's fine," she relented, though her disappointment was evident in the way her shoulders slumped. She turned away from you, heading towards a nearby shelf filled with various herbs. "I guess I should at least try to make the most of my time here and get some work done."

You watched as Tyler began to rotate the stock of herbs on the shelf with practiced efficiency, her fingers deftly selecting each glass jar and meticulously checking their labels. Her pout only served to emphasize her frustration and disappointment, and you felt your chest tighten at the sight.

"Tyler," you said softly, reaching out to touch her arm gently. "It's not your fault, and I'm sure Alex will understand. Besides, we'll make it up to them later, okay?"

She paused her work, giving you a small, grateful smile before resuming her task. "Thank you. I really appreciate that," she murmured. "It's just so hard to shake the feeling that we're letting them down."
