Think on it. You have to buy more supplies in the meantime.

From Create Your Own Story

Dried meat, herbs for potions and flavoring, and some nuts and berries from the local farms. You make a mental list as your search the village to look for provisions. You left the remainder of what you had with the young man. Of course, you tied a rope around his neck and left him to wait in a room at the tavern. Still, knowing he's watching over your scarce food gives you some comfort that you can afford to buy the best materials.

You come across a salesman who doesn't look like the other townsfolk. He stands by a large wagon with a hanging sign that reads "Anything for Any Problem!"

"Ah-ha! You look like a woman with a good eye," he calls you over and opens up a panel on his wagon, exposing a wild assortment of objects from daggers to books to shoes to food. "Anything you need, I'll have something for it. I won't even charge you gold."

"Is that so?" You eye him suspiciously. Most of what he has isn't special. While it's no assassin, you guess he might be a thief or a mischievous bard. Exposing him, if he is doing wrong, would be a step toward your path of light. "If you give your stuff way, how do you make money?"

He laughs. "Money is a thing, and I already have many things. I'm interested in real value. Sometimes it's a task I need done, or an item I must have. But whatever I want, I trade. No tricks, no scandalous money, only true and honest value."

You raise a brow and pick up a yellow fruit off the table. "You think anyone would bother to trade for a thing like this?" You wave the curved delicacy in your hand. It's not common in these parts, but it's just a fruit.

He smirks. "That would only cost a mere challenge. If someone wanted to try the banana, I'd give it to them, provided they could consume the whole thing in a single bite."

"And what value does that have?" you ask him.

"My entertainment," he shrugs. "It's as you say, the banana isn't my most valuable piece."
