Oscar's lower lip quivers like he's going to cry, then he turns and hurries off. You do feel bad for him, but it's not your problem and you don't want to get involved. All you want to do is find a way out of this freakshow.
"I saw you talking to him!" a rough voice shouts and you turn to see Oscar at the edge of the grassland, cowering before a snarling gray wolf. The wolf belts the otter across the face, knocking him to the ground, and then kicks him in the stomach before grabbing his tail and starting to drag the sobbing creature away.
