I understand using proper grammar outside of dialogue but is it really necessary to correct a character's way of speaking? No one I know ever says "I am..." all the time, it's mostly "I'm...". It's like going through Stephen King's "IT" and changing the Irish cop's accented words from "foin" to "fine". How a character speaks shouldn't be edited. I intended for Officer Dougherty to say "I'm..." because if all characters spoke properly, the story would be pretty bland. --DeadFishV 07:52, 21 July 2011 (UTC)

No, it is not necessary for a character's dialogue to be grammatical, and certainly better if different characters have different speech patterns. But if I correct the grammar outside of the dialogue quotes and it's then uncorrected, I am going to be very upset. --Platypus 09:34, 21 July 2011 (UTC)

The only changes I made after Yihman1, were "I'm" and one of the choices had an incorrect use of "too" (i.e. "asked the boy too choke you") --DeadFishV 11:55, 21 July 2011 (UTC)
