You push the pile of books off the bed and onto the floor. Rachel grabs your arm, but it's already too late.
"Don't!" she says. "Those are library books! If they get damaged, I'll have to pay fines! What if they stop letting me check out books? I won't be able to do my research and I'll fail my courses!"
"They're not that fragile," you say. "See? Nothing's damaged and now you have a bed again."
"I guess," Rachel says. "But you shouldn't have done that. Having the bed clear isn't that important."
