You pick up a nearby stone and throw it into a bush next to the guard farther away from you. Both guards turn towards it, the one closer to you even pursues the sound. "Wha' do you reckon that was, a rabbit?" Apparently this is a rather boring job, and any distraction is a welcome one. Taking the opportunity you silently run to the wicket gate and try to open it, only to find it locked. Before you have a chance to even pull out your lockpick the guards lose interest in the "rabbit," and turn back to see a man clad in black with two daggers kneeling in front of the door they were guarding. They signal the alarm, and you are surrounded by armed men. Relentless torture for three days leads the guards to discover you are Segon, an infiltrator hired by the Rooks to steal documents and replace them with forgeries. Also, you tell them about your secret stash in your apartment, the whereabouts of the thieves guild in Bellmoral, directions to King Humont's privy, and your favorite beef stew recipe. You are then executed when Daren realizes he has no need for you and your body is buried in an unmarked grave.
