From Create Your Own Story

You take a deep breath and begin reading the pamphlet:

Cockroaches have existed for millions of years, and are some of the most primitive insects still living today. Of more than 4,500 species of cockroach, only about 30 reside in human habitats. And of those 30, only 7 are commonly known as pests. Cockroach species also range in size. Many are as small as a fingernail, like the German cockroach, and some, like the female giant cockroach, measure more than 10cm from head to tail.

Although one of the most feared pests, a lone cockroach poses little harm to a human. Cockroaches aren't parasitic, nor do they have a need for biting humans or a means to "sting" us. But people still fear the insects- the slick look, foul smell, and fast movement of the cockroach terrify many. Additionally, large infestations can cause allergies and disease. Salmonella and e. coli can survive for up to two months in the waxy secretions on a cockroach's shell. And the insect's droppings, in large quantities, cause many people to develop allergies after prolonged exposure.

Throughout the 90s, poison remained the favored method of cockroach extermination. Cheap, sugary sweet poison traps made pest control easy and affordable, and rendered the mass infestations of the 80s a thing of the past. But going into the 2000s home cockroach populations resurged. Cockroaches developed an aversion to glucose, and adapted to find the sugary poisons bitter and repulsive. Hypothetically, these resilient insects could adjust to any pest-control poisons.

This is why vacuum cockroach removal, as performed at Pestless Spirits, is not only humane, but highly effective. Our trained pest-removal staff drive cockroaches from dark crevices in your home with flash lights and manual labor. Then, our patented PestVac sucks the cockroaches into a storage compartment, where they will later be released back into the wild. A building can be pest-free after as few as three treatments.
