Pokesex/Boy/Hoenn/Littleroot/Pick Mudkip
From Create Your Own Story
You reach in, grab the pokeball, and fling it on the ground. It pops open, and out comes a tiny little moist axolotl like critter called Mudkip. You were hoping for something a little more impressive, but you'll take what you can get. You order the pokemon to go and start wailing on the Poochyena. It doesn't take much, and soon the dog pokemon runs off. You pick up the pokeball and return the Mudkip.
Then the man starts spewing thanks: "Whew, I was trying to study pokemon when he jumped me. Thanks for saving me. What's your name?"
"Uh, Brendan." you reply.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Professor Birch. This isn't a good place to chat, so come by my Pokemon lab later, okay?"
And with that, he grabs his bag and takes off. In his haste, he left you with the pokeball. So now you have your own pokemon, which is basically a ticket to the outside world. You can take it and leave town for good, go home, or follow the Professor back to his lab and see if he has any other rewards for you.
