Chapter 14: The College Years
"I'll leave you two alone to enjoy yourselves!" You tell them. With that, you leave their room, closing the door behind you. Before going back to Chrissy, you go downstairs to get a few things. You grab a bottle of champagne and two glasses and on your way out of the kitchen, you notice a box of chocolates on the counter.
Chrissy still looks nervous about the whole thing when you walk into the room and she gets confused when she sees the champagne and chocolates. "So?? What happened?" she asks as you sit next to her on the bed. "We're in the clear!" you tell her. "Megan and Maddie are having a little fun of their own and as long as we don't tell, they will keep our little secret." Chrissy's face lights up with the news and you pop the cork out of the bottle. After a little celebrating, the two of you cuddle under the blankets for a long time. You'd probably be stumbling around the room if you tried to stand up anyway!
Three years pass without any secrets slipping out to your parents. Megan and Maddie continue with their lesbian encounters and have even added a third person. A friend of theirs from school spent many nights in their room and only you and Chrissy really know what went on behind the closed door.
Your relationship with Chrissy grew nicely, but your relationship with Jill went downhill and you broke up with her two years ago. She began getting mad that you weren't spending enough time with her and accused you of cheating on her with someone from school. Of course, you denied it, but it didn't matter. You have been happier without her in your life and have been able to spend a lot more time with Chrissy because of it.
Going off to university was painful for the first year. In Durham, North Carolina, you couldn't just run home any time you wanted to see Chrissy. Chrissy, being a year younger than you, was stuck at home until she graduated high school. You thought that you were lucky when your parents offered to pay for your entire tuition, but Chrissy got it even better. Duke University isn't cheap and taking psychology and physiology ran their bill up quite a bit. Since Chrissy got the brains in the family, she ended up getting a scholarship to Duke U. and you couldn't be happier. You helped her move her things onto the campus and you spent the first week in her dorm room with her. Since then, her roommate has been there almost every night, preventing you from seeing her as much. However, your roommate stays out most night, so Chrissy spends a lot of her spare time in your room.
There have been so many guys that have been attracted to Chrissy, but she has shot every one of them down because of you. You, on the other hand, have had plenty of opportunities to date some fine looking ladies, but so far, you've been faithful to Chrissy.
One girl in your psychology class has caught your eye more than once. Her name is Amber and she is purely beautiful. She's slim and toned with long, flowing red hair and pale green eyes. Her smile is the kind that can make anyone happy, no matter the mood that they're in. You've talked to her quite a bit, sharing notes and discussing projects, but asking her out has out of the question as of yet. You're almost positive that she's interested in you, although she hasn't come right out and said anything.
As you're leaving class one day, Amber stops you in the hallway. "Hey Tom! I was, um... wondering if you, um..." She starts. You notice that she is rubbing her left arm nervously and you think you know what she's about to say. She finishes her question with, "like to come to my place for dinner tonight?" Her nervousness is adorable and you try to look her in the eyes. You're flattered by her offer, but what about Chrissy?
