Of Easy Wind and Downy Flake

From Create Your Own Story

You pull yourself from your warm rest, pausing a moment to shiver in the cold air; naked and exposed. You dig through your bag and find a warm undershirt, a thick flannel and a pair of blue jeans which were faded from months of use. You pull your clothes on, and force your feet into a pair of cold boots made of tough leather, with thick soles and shoe strings that could likely double as climbing rope.

You unzip the tent flap, and climb out into the cold day. Outside the tent, the sky is a large grey haze, a cold breeze is whipping in from the north west, and there is a heavy feeling in the air, accompanied by the aroma of rain.

You stumble over to your camp fire and place a new log into the embers, poking around and stirring it until you know it’s caught. You then work your way over to the tree line to relieve yourself, your urine steaming all the way to the ground where it forms a small puddle before running away down the hill. When you’re finished, you walk back over to your camp.
