Whispering a charm of fire you create a flame that burns from your own magic. It hovers peacefully above the ground, giving light and heat as you work. You open up your spell book and draw a circle of magic that turns a piece of the ground into a soft mattress. But food, even for you it's a risk to use magic. The smallest change in anything, even the air, could turn conjured food bad.
While you weigh the options of going hungry for the night or potentially starving yourself, you use your wand to cast a charm on the half-orc's mace and shield. Using magic you can hold them together, and you know they'd make better weapons for fighting instead of wasting your own magic. But, the problem is where you're going to put your wand. It has to be close in case you need to use it quickly.
