Mad Science/Time Machine (Pete) 4

From Create Your Own Story

"You know, my project needs a machine-brain interface, and yours does too. Maybe if we worked together we could both get done faster. What do you think?"

"That sounds like a great idea! I was actually wondering how I could ask you, but if you want to that's even better! Do you want help with your plans?"

"No, I think I know what to do at this point. You get your idea registered with Allison and I'll finish up mine."

"Okay!" She runs off to get in line to show her idea to the teacher.

You've pretty much got your idea assembled when Trevor comes over. "I thought you guys were going to come help the seniors."

"I had a brainstorm of my own. See!"

You show him your plans. He looks them over and whistles. "A time machine! For real?"

"Yeah. It's going to be a lot of work, but ..."

"Hey! Do you want me to help? We can try and snag Emmie too! She works great on a team. And then when we pull off something awesome Room 107 will get points too. It's a win-win situation!"

"That sounds great!" You don't tell him you've already asked Emily. That would just complicate things. "Wait here! I'll go get this approved." And tell Emily what's going on.

You get there just as Emily is getting her plan evaluated.

"... of cortical imbalance?"

"That's why we need brains of similar development level. I plan to create another Fluffy for the low-level tests. And it'll give her someone to rub up against."

"It sounds like you have a lot of things thought out." Allison initials the notebook page. "Don't burn down the school!"

Emily is bouncing with glee. As soon as she turns and sees you she throws her arms around you and gives you a big friendly kiss. Good thing Trevor didn't see that.

"I got it!"

"I saw. Mine's ready to pitch, too." She gives you a squeeze. "Is it okay if Trevor works with us too?"

Her grip loosens. You seem to have said something wrong. "Okay." She thinks for a moment. "But only on yours, okay? Don't tell him about collaborating on my project."
