You study her diagrams for the machine-brain interface for a couple of minutes. She's planning to use a neural net to handle the sensors, which is a pretty good idea. Finally you've gleaned what you can from her work.

"This is pretty good, Emily. Have you shown the teacher yet?"

"No, I was going to wait a bit and see if someone would collaborate with me."

You look her over and she seems to be on the up-and-up. Maybe you could use her to work out the interface and then just copy it into yours. Hell of a shortcut. But then you can't be sure if she has something up her sleeve ...
