You roll to your left and flatten yourself on the ground, allowing the guard to pass by you. When the guard is an arms length ahead of you, you twist the mechanism on your ring, exposing a small needle. Quick as a viper, you reach out and punch the guard's calf, sticking the needle through his thin woolen leggings and into his flesh. The venom injected into him renders his leg instantly numb, so he doesn't feel the bite of your lucky ring. As you sneak away the guard's steps become increasingly sluggish, as if he had downed several tankards of ale in an instant. He mumbles to himself, drops his torch on the wet grass, and takes two more steps before collapsing on his face, snoring loudly. One of the guards at the entrance notices him sleeping and swears, cursing the "stupid drunken fuck." You distance yourself from said "drunken fuck" and survey your options.
