LoL/(F)(SUH) Flip the switch

Curiosity overcomes caution and you flip the switch. In your hand, the wand begins to hum softly and the copper strands wound around the tip crackle with electricity. Cautiously, you touch your fingertip to the wand, heady to jerk back if it zaps you, but it's just an intense, cold tingle that makes the muscles in your hand twitch and spasm. It's a strange feeling, but not entirely unpleasant.
You turn the wand off and put it in your pack, then look around the room for a way out. You find a ladder leading up through a hole in the ceiling, and a doorway leading down another long passage.
