Leave the two monsters to their fight and get your wounds tended

From Create Your Own Story

You flee the woods, making your way back to Lord Kellar's estate. Near the back porch, you finally collapse and pass out.

You awaken in a comfortable bed the next morning, your wounds neatly cleaned and bandaged. Lord Kellar informs you that a servant found you lying in the grass, and brought you inside. He also informs you that some of his men found the corpse of a large bear in the woods, brutally clawed to death by something...but the something that did the clawing was not found.

"It was the bear," he says. "It was the bear that plagued my estate and attacked William...It's over now." He says the words mostly to himself. You look at him, both of you knowing that it is not true and that denial is not just a river in Egypt.

William, even when he must have transformed back to a human, never returns to the estate. When you have recovered from your wounds, you spend many days in the woods hunting for him, but you never find him. Eventually, you must say your goodbyes to the Kellars and head home, frustrated at leaving a job unfinished.

Over the next few months, farmers in the region begin lodging complaints with the local constabulary about their livestock disappearing whenever there is a full moon. An investigation is launched, but the culprit is never caught.
