You brace yourself for Brooke's charge. As she gets close, you leap sideways and with one violent motion sweep your hatchet at her legs.

You slice one of them clean off mid-thigh. Brooke falls instantly to the ground, dropping her machete.

For the first time in your life, you feel revulsion at hurting someone else and compassion for a fellow human being. Rather than waiting for her to bleed out, you chop off her head to end her suffering. Then you throw away your bloody hatchet in disgust.

Suddenly, there's a camera crew and an announcer in your face. Where did they come from so fast?

"The winner of Battle Royale, Zeke Davidson!" booms the announcer. "How'd you do it?"

"Luck, I guess," you mumble. You turn aside for a moment and vomit.

"Did you have a plan?"

"Not really. I took the lighthouse and was fortunate that everyone else killed each other off."

"What do you plan to do now?"

"Forget that my old self ever existed. I'm going to be Mr. Nice Guy from now on."

"There you have it. Tune in next year at a new site for the next Battle Royale!"

The camera crew vanishes, and a man appears. "I'm the sponsor. Here's your $200,000. Now let's get you home."

Abandoning your old ways isn't easy, but with hard work, a fresh start at college and a single-minded dedication, you do transform yourself into a nice guy... and a very productive member of society.
