The royal court was assembled at warburg castle. Adolf proposed i poison my brother to gaurantee my rule. "Not immediately" i stressed on him. He bowed to left.
My sister would sit in my queens throne as she still hadnt reached from the switz.
"So have you made katelyn pregnant yet."
"Shes only 12 years old."
"Our great grandmother gave birth at 11. this isnt fun and games. Untill wilhem dies or you give a male heir you position is vulnerable. Youre eight and weak. All your power comes from adolf. Some say he might marry me to his son and kill you and wipe our family. The duke wont object as a warburg will occupy the throne."
"So that means i need to kill you isabel" she didnt speak anymore.
But she was not lieing.
I needed a detterent for the kohlns. I knew the army is the feudal monarchs best friend and so i enlisted all the professional soldiers in both warburg and kohln. I hired them all in one warburg army. But its land for the soldiers that bind them to their ruler. Wilhem used that and they wouldnt give him up untill they were all starving to death. Such loyalty of army would keep the kohlns in their place.
I meet with adolf. I propose making a list of state enemies and charging them with treason and confiscating their land. Adolf could add his rivals in the list thus concentrating power in our hands. The thursday night known as the bloody thursday ever since in warburg saw thousands murdered and arrested for crimes against state.
By friday morning i had vast tracts of land around the country. I gave a token amount to the kohlns ,kept the most valuable ones and gave the country agrarian land to the army officers to distribute to the soldiers. These areas known as military complexes had no noblemen and were answerable only to me. Loyal only to me.
Adolf stormed with complaints of soldiers being given land he was the rightfull owner of.
I commanded it was the kings decision and will not change.
He knew he had lost his chance.
