You look around carefully. All your other classmates have left and Miss Natsume has pointedly headed for the other side of the room.
Lowering your voice, you say softly, "I'm very sorry. Would treating you to dinner tonight help make up for it?"
Rin stares at you, confused. Finally, she says, "Why are you whispering?"
"Because," you say in a very low voice, "I have a reputation to maintain. I can't go around being nice to people! Or extraterrestrials. Even..."
Your voice trails off and you blush.
"Even what?" Rin asks.
Your face goes hot and you look down at your shoes, unable to meet her eyes.
"Even gorgeous ones."
Rin giggles. "Maybe you should try being nice. You might find you like it." She kisses you on the cheek, giving you quite the shock. "Meet me outside Ohara Sushi at 6:30 tonight."
