It brings back a fond memory.

From Create Your Own Story

You remember the first time you visited Dunbarton. It was with Xi who, at that point, you very clearly hated, and the feelings were mutual. You two had been dragged along by a friend to go pick up some supplies, but she had already left due to some personal business, leaving you two alone in the dust. The two of you sat down at a stray bench, as far apart from each other as you could get, as both people and minutes started to pass you by.

It was then that a strange man, a loud and obnoxious man, had walked out of the clothing shop, upset over a bargain gone wrong. He was angry, furious, and decided to take it out on whatever he could.

That happened to be you.

You had been forced to walk to another town, forced to spend the day with someone you’d rather not, ditched at the last second with that certain person, and now this, getting yelled at by a man for a situation that didn’t concern you. This was your last straw, you wanted to shut up the face in front of you, your fists already curled up in a ball. You never got the chance, though.

Xi, the boy next to you through all of this, had started to laugh. At you? No, at the man! It wasn’t a loud and funny laugh, but one of scorn, of pity. Here was an adult blaming all of his troubles on a girl who didn’t even reach up to his shoulders, a giant having to practically sit on his knees to yell into the girl’s face. That simple act was all that was needed to turn the man red, he began to fluster, was he going to move on to Xi?

In the end, he just left, too infuriated to even argue.

What could’ve been a violent situation was all avoided just by a sweet and playful chuckle, perfectly timed and executed. You were amazed that he had the guts to even intervene. “You looked like you needed help is all.” He replied, beaming a wide grin, first time you’d ever seen that face of his so happy. He must’ve felt like a big hero. And for that day, he was.

“Hey Rel? You done day dreaming?"
