I'm leaving home and never returning

From Create Your Own Story

"I'm leaving and never coming back," You explain. "I'm fed up with the way I'm treated at home. I feel like I need to get out of my current life and get a new one."

"Seriously?" She seemed astonished.

"Seriously," You nod. "What about you? It's a bit early to be taking things for recycling, isn't it?"

"Me too."

Now you're astonished. You cock your head by way of asking for more details, giving her the option not to concede.

"I'm fed up with the way I'm treated at home. I feel like I need to get out of my current life and get a new one," She smiles awkwardly.

"Couldn't have said it better myself," you say.

Sandy explains that her husband's out of town on business for the week. She's leaving whilst he's away, in the middle of the night so that the neighbours don't see. She rolls her eyes when the irony of the situation dawns.

"I work at the motel. My boss has said I can stay in one of the rooms for a few nights. She's good to me. I trust that she won't tell anyone."

You silently show your support for the idea by lifting the heavy box into the van for her.

There's a pregnant pause. She takes a deep breath. "Come with me?" she says eventually.
