"Yes," I smiled. "I'm just so happy to be leaving here." Faking interest in this girl was killing me. I could not stand being in this body and needed her to bring me home so I could figure out what to do about it. The nurses waved to us as we walked down the hall and to the elevator. When the elevator opened, I was greeted by shrieking as two brown-haired girls spotted us and ran over with their arms outstretched.

The taller one had blue eyes and she reached me first, embracing me in a hug. "Looks like you've seen better days!" she said.

The shorter one also gave me a hug, "I kinda expected your hair to be going in all directions like in the cartoons. Of course, you don't look much better."

The blonde led on to the parking lot and we all got into a pretty new looking Toyota Camry. Once inside the conversation switched from me to general gossip. I put the hood up on my sweatshirt and started to drift off, but I heard a sound come from inside my purse. I looked inside and found a smartphone. I pressed by thumb to the fingerprint reader and it came to life, displaying a simple text message from my old phone number: "We need to talk. Come by tonight at 9PM."

Suddenly my world was spinning and I was having trouble breathing. Lauren must be inside my body, and she wanted to talk. Maybe she knew more about this than I did. I replied with a simple, "Ok" and saved the contact to the phone. Then I began to search the phone: Facebook, bank accounts, emails. Lauren's entire life was open to me. I learned Lauren recently turned 21 and was a junior majoring in both history and philosophy. She lived with three other girls in an upperclassmen dorm: Sarah (the blonde), Hannah (the shorter one), and Elianna (the taller one). Lauren had a boyfriend named Shawn, and two older brothers. Also, her parents were loaded.

"Lauren," Elianna said, snapping me out of my thoughts. "Are you still coming out to dinner with us, or are you too tired?"

I looked at the clock, it was only 4. My stomach growled. I didn't really want to be with them. I needed to be sure I met with my old body at 9, but I was hungry. "Sure, would we be going soon?"

The car pulled up to the Carvey Dorm. "Just as soon as you take a shower," Hannah said. Everyone groaned. "I didn't want to say it before, but you smell like they left you in that puddle for hours."

I followed my roommates into the dorm. It was one of those suites were everyone had a single room around a shared common area and bathroom. Suite number 209: Room C was my new address. I went in and let the door shut behind me. I didn't really want to shower. It meant confronting the reality beneath my clothes.
