You're shivering by the time you make it across the main road and through the front door. Alistair's is a friendly enough pub, if a little dingy. You're far from a regular, but the dim lighting and old scuffed leather couches feel somehow comforting, like no one here has any standards.

You shift your weight from one leg to the other as you size up your fellow patrons awkwardly, deliberating what to do next or who to talk to.

There's a man alone at the bar, though he obviously hadn't planned on being alone. There are two women sat together near the back, looking too bitter to be lesbians so perhaps have just sworn off men for the time being. Over in the far corner are the last dregs of a bachelor party, and a pretty depressing one at that if you'd be the judge.
