Head back up to the streets.

From Create Your Own Story

"I guess we go looking for a car," you say. "Carefully."

Claire nods, getting her gear together and checking the shotgun. You pull out your knife, take a deep breath, and open the door. Just outside, there's only darkness, and the sound of thunder somewhere far overhead. You slink out carefully, flick on your flashlight, and have a look around. Luckily, there's nothing.

The two of you trace your path backwards, heading to the steps of the subway and up into the rainy night. The street has gone completely dark, save for the dim headlights of two cars in the distance, both sitting in the middle of the road with their doors open.

"Those two have got to be our best bets, unless you know how to hotwire one of these parked cars." You say. Claire shakes her head no. "Then we have to push on."

You slink down the sidewalk, turning the flashlight down so that it's light illuminates only the step your about to take, and Claire follows an inch behind. The rain is heavy, cold, and stings the skin of your face as the wind pushes it in sideways. You move inch by inch along, until your hiding behind a parked car, not ten feet away from the two vehicles.

One is a four door sedan, and it's windshield has a spider veined crack on the passenger side. The other is a small pick two-door pick up, and a man's body is stretched out the driver's side door and nearly splayed in the street. His eyes are gone, and blood trickles from their sockets down over his forehead, through his hair, and into the rivers of rain slicking down the street.

"Which one?" Claire asks. "We're either pulling a dead dude out or we're dealing with a cracked windshield."
